End of Arc One: All you need is... oh, shit.
THE RUNDOWN: PART ONE
THE DETAILS: PART ONE
THE RUNDOWN: PART TWO
THE DETAILS: PART TWO
During the time the city is split, the mopeds in Tranquility's garage will not work, the plants in Sorrow's orchid will begin to die,Delight's bar will not be stocked Delight's bar will still be destroyed, GPS will not work in Group A, and the brand new hot springs will run dry.
After the network is restored (several hours after the split for Group A, several hours after that for Group B), communication is possible between the two groups, but will be prone to static, potentially unsent or double sent messages, and just general glitching from both sides- though Group A will have an easier time of it.
Fear's Initial Post will see activity and threadjacking from all of the gods as they panic and try to rectify the situation. Some plot details will likely be spilled here, for those curious!
And finally, on April 9th, if all goes well, the city will be reunited and all will be (relatively) safe again. Hope will banish any straggling monsters back to the tunnels, revive anyone dead from Group B, and stock the other half of the city with some much-needed food before pretty much collapsing. Fear will make a second post to the network, though this one will likely have significantly less response from the gods, and everyone will curl up and lick their (figurative and literal) wounds.
This means that the Intro Log for April will double as a 'city rejoining' log.
As a note: As mods, we realize that this is a large event with a significant amount of required plotting and threading involved. Due to this, the month of April will be extremely light to allow backtagging and general recovery. Applications and April intro log will still happen, but potential new players will be warned that the month may be sparse as everyone finishes up with their logs and threads from the Arc One ending.
THE OVERVIEW
March 25th starts as any normal day in Hadriel might. Everyone yawns, stretches, rolls out of bed, and then the rumblings of change begin as they all feel a sudden surge of love in their hearts. Yep, Love has been revived, and is eager to talk to you!
From March 25th-March 28th, Love's event will be pretty standard from what we've come to expect of the gods. Love's hot springs will be assembled and make its place on the map, Love will make a post to the network to talk to all of you meanies who voted them in last... and, of course, love will be in the air.
For the duration of this event, characters will feel an outpouring of adoration and affection for many things around them- their significant others, their friends, their pets, even sometimes their enemies... and most importantly, for themselves. The first aspect of love is self-love after all, so let go of those dark things you're holding onto. Accept your flaws and then let all of your guilt and shame and self loathing just float magically away!
THE DETAILS: PART ONE
During Love's few days coming into power, it will be common to feel at peace with who you are and affectionate toward those around you. These feelings can be platonic or romantic, and can be limited in any way that you choose- if you'd like to opt out entirely, then you're free to do that as well!
In addition, the city will be decked out in strange self care items. Things like fluffy blankets, stuffed animals, snuggies, exotic-smelling candles, and some nice bubble bath and skin care products will be left on display- everything in a nice shade of light pink, of course. The buildings will be decorated with pink streamers and the stores will be temporarily stocked with sweets- maybe not sweets you've ever tasted before, but delicious treats all the same.
Of course, this festival of love can't last forever- in fact, it will last far less time than usual...
THE RUNDOWN: PART TWO
In the evening of March 28th, the city suddenly comes to a grinding halt. The artificial lighting in the city flickers and goes dark, everything hooked up to the power grid loses all energy, and the network stops functioning.
Shortly after this, the city is split in two.
The split occurs at a vaguely vertical fashion, just to the right of Spire 1 on our map (EDIT: An visual guide on the split line). The left side of the city will be known as Group A, the right side of the city will be known as Group B. Regardless of what half you are in, where there was once the opposite half of a city is now just a giant, flat, rock wall- as if the rest of the city had never been there at all.
Over the course of the next few hours, network functionality will return, which will allow you to communicate with your friends who may be in the other half of the city- albeit, with some static and glitches. The exactness of what will happen varies depending on what half of the city your character winds up in, and the half of the city that you choose will be entirely up to you.
Sometime in the next day (March 29th), Fear will make a post to the network. In this post, he will explain why the city has been split in half (which can/will include some important plot details), and will ask for help in bringing the city back together. This help from you guys will come in the form of fear, and lots of it. Thankfully, that won't be too hard to procure with everything else that will be going on.
THE DETAILS: PART TWO
Each half of the city will have four gods each, all of them attempting to continue running the place in lieu of their missing companions, to varying degrees of success. Again, you are free to choose which half your character winds up in during the split- the mods will not be assigning city halves to anyone, so please try to make a decision before the 28th!
GROUP AGroup A will be in the leftmost side of the city for the duration of the event. Along with Group A are the gods Fear, Hope, Rage, and Delight. Group A will benefit from having Hope around, as they will continue to have food, water, and basic necessities, as well as a faster, more stable network connection. However, without Confusion and Tranquility, Group A will be unprotected from any outside threat.
What does this mean? By March 30th, Group A will begin hearing something... strange coming from outside of the caves. There will be echoing loud noises that sound like thudding and drilling vibrating off of the interior walls of the cave.
In response, Hope will quickly make a network post, asking any inhabitants of Group A to go with Rage and Delight and help to collapse the cave system to hamper any attempts at breeching the cave- which will hopefully buy the time they need to rejoin the two halves of the city. While collapsing the cave tunnels, volunteers may find some future plot artifacts- but no face-to-face time with the intruders will be seen quite yet.
Finally, in a play of desperation from Hope and Fear, the shackles on the Silent Hill Zone will be lifted. While the monsters inside will not be invading the entire city, the patches of fog will now be more randomized and characters in Group A may encounter monsters if they find themselves in a patch of fog. However, the lethality of the monsters will be reduced by Hope- they'll generally be a little slower, a little weaker, and less overtly magical.
Sorry, we need your fear.
GROUP BGroup B will be in the rightmost side of the city for the duration of the event. Alongside Group B are Sorrow, Love, Confusion, and Tranquility. Unlike Group A, Group B will be protected and somewhat safe, but will have extremely limited resources without Hope or Sorrow's orchard.
Love will be attempting to supplement the people in Group B with necessities, but food will be bland and tasteless and limited enough to make all but the most prolific hoarders yearn for more. In addition, Tranquility will attempt to reinstate and maintain the network, but it will be glitchy and very unreliable- especially when trying to communicate with people in Group A. And finally, does anyone remember who was keeping all the monsters in the cave? Right... Hope was. Does anyone remember who was in charge of revivals? ...right. Hope was.
Therefore, all monsters in the caves will flood into the right half of the city. Confusion will be attempting to keep them at bay, but ultimately be incapable of holding them back, resulting in a steady influx of horrific creatures from the bestiary crawling all over the city. You guys will be able to handle those, right? And hopefully, you'll be able to manage without dying, because for the duration of the event in Group B, there will be no revivals.
Additionally, Sorrow will make a Group B post at some point during this time to try and organize people, as well as to stress the significance of getting Hope back. Through this, Group B may get some further information on the roles that different NPCs have played throughout the course of Hadriel.

QUESTIONS
QUESTIONS
Just double-checking that it will be okay for Marian's time travel powers to be used to assist people for the limited time period -- namely going back to before the city was split in half, running to a location on the other side, then travelling forward to post-split to ferry supplies across. If possible, I'd love for her to have found out in advance by a few hours and run around trying to do little things to help prepare -- she definitely wouldn't tell anyone what was going to happen, out of fear of influencing their later actions and fucking up time.
Of course this is limited to only the first 12 hours of the event (as far as she can go).

2. Would characters be able to work on bolstering the network independently to try and communicate with the other half of the city, or at least streamline communication somewhat? Using computers, generators, their own technology, etc.
3. ha ha self-love that's cute nice try scrubs

GROUPS
If you are having trouble deciding on what group, here's a general guide:
Group A will be in less physical danger throughout the event (though won't be free from danger entirely, thanks to Silent Hill), however, the stakes for them will be far greater with the implication that something from the outside could bust its way in. There will be plenty to do in terms of collapsing the caves with explosives, getting intentionally scared by Silent Hill, and they will be in a better position to get information on the game's meta-plot.
Group B will be in greater physical danger with the monsters flooding in through the caves and will be required to fight them off. There will also be extremely limited supplies, particularly food (though you can, of course, hunt and eat the monsters), water, and far less light than they may be used to. Group B will have a higher immediate threat, as there will be no revival or 'fix' if something happens to them. They will also suffer from communications failure, as their network will be haphazard and only vaguely functional, and may get some further information on the NPCs.

Rey will be heading to the A-Team, where she would be more useful in the demolition of the tunnels (kinda helps when she's basically a living bomb herself). I'm thinking maybe she might have a close call at some point with getting crushed to death by rubble, but for the most part I intend to keep her alive.
She is also not going to be very happy once she finds out that her dadbot is stranded on the other side. On the other hand, she might feel better knowing that he isn't dealing with the Silent Hill shit and whatever is trying to drill its way into the cave.
Ravine is going to be over in Group B. Her ability to ghost through solid objects will not work on the wall between the two groups, of course, but she could provide some more local assistance with telepathic communication. While she isn't able to combat physical beings, she could be more useful against wraiths and wendigo spirits, as her scythe was designed in part to banish malevolent souls. So anyone who wants her help to cut through a wraith or something, she can do that much at least!
Furthermore, she doesn't need to eat or sleep to survive, so rest assured she won't be a drain on resources! Yay, helping?

Alphys will be in group B, and well at least she's used to living in dark cramped spaces. Unfortunately, she's not a fighter by any comparison, so she'll be utterly useless against the things trying to eat everyone. On the upside, Alphys' entire life (and PhD) is dedicated to magical technology, and while her specifics is in robotics, she'll be working really hard with Sans to boost the network in any way she can and just generally providing Science Help
Upon reviewing the location of the lab (since the old players who made it never added it to the map, oops), it should be on side B (over by the shops/clinic) so she'll likely be holed up there just doin her ding dang best
Kate and Dylan
Kate is in Group B and will spend the majority of her time trying to protect the clinic from any attacks and trying to help anyone who gets injured on that side. During this time, she'll end up feeling the effects of how much she's been extending herself with the reduction in staff at the clinic and collapse (or get injured in a fight idk yet). If you want to do any combat threads, I'm definitely here for it.
Re: Kate and Dylan
...She's also got a small stash of food that she can bring to the clinic?

She's also got a small stockpile of food (enough for one person for 3-4 days) at the lab (which is on Side B) so bring your own can-opener and enjoy, Group B.
Sato is in Group B, and not too perturbed by monsters in the streets. He'll be out and about more than usual to a) fight them and b) mess with folks... although this could very well mean saving someone only to intentionally get them in bigger trouble later.

Plus giant woman ripping a scythe out of her spine would be one hell of a first impression. (B

When he's not doing that, he'll probably be trying to make sure no one dies, if he can. This means he might be begrudgingly involving himself in sentry work, or at the very least ferrying people via shortcuts to safe locations.
Also possibly watching Ellie die because Caity is a cruel cruel evil person and I love her

Prussia will be in group B! He'll have his sword and starvation isn't anything he hasn't handled before. He'll be out slaying a lot of monsters and will back up whoever needs it. If you'd like a rescue, he'd be glad to give it~
This is after collecting some stuffed animals that he'll squirrel away into his apartment in the first half of the event. Shh. You saw nothing.
Danse
He might also suggest that the kids/civilians who are unable to fight to take shelter in one of the buildings in the city, and for some volunteers to guard said building.
Lastly he'll be around patrolling and protecting people. I don't know if I want him in the tunnels yet because he doesn't really have anything that can cause demolitions.
