RESURRECTION EVENT: RAGE

THE RUNDOWN

Hope has spent most of the month preparing to resurrect Rage, and on December 26th he'll finally be ready to put things in motion. Of course, bringing a god back to life is bound to cause a few side effects, so let's hope everyone's prepared! To kick off the event, Rage's temple is restored in an instant, and glows with a deep red light that can be seen from some distance.

Resurrecting Rage unleashes a tide of anger across the city. At first concentrated in certain spots, it slowly grows to cover all of Hadriel. For the first few days, there will be no noticeable difference unless you're inside Rage's temple, the colosseum, or the library - but being inside any of those places will find you filled with aimless anger.

Over the next few days, these pools of rage will slowly expand, until by January 2nd they blanket the whole city. The anger will only abate if you're actually inside Fear or Hope's temple, where it will be replaced by the usual feelings of unsettled creepiness or gentle hopefulness. Otherwise, you'd better practice your deep breathing. Don't get too irritated!

On January 4th, the armory that Hope promised comes into existence, just in case you were looking for something to stab someone with. It contains no guns or anything more technologically advanced than swords, spears, and other medieval-type weapons - but that's plenty good enough to kill people with.

THE DETAILS

If you'd like to opt-out of anything too damaging, you can! The anger isn't overwhelming or mindless, and everyone is still themselves. If you have a cool head, good self-control, or excellent coping techniques, you'll be able to keep from losing your temper - but it'll definitely be a struggle even for the calmest. Also, for the first week of the event, there will be quite a few areas around the city that aren't affected, though they'll become harder and harder to find as the event goes on. The city map will also be updated with the location of Rage's temple and the armory.

After the event, Rage's temple will be just like the others - entering it will increase feelings of anger and irritation, but nowhere near as strongly as during this event. The armory will continue to supply weapons, but they'll all still be simple, non-projectile weapons, unless and until Rage decides otherwise.

Finally, on January 6th, Rage is fully restored and takes control of her power once more. The waves of anger blanketing the city disappear. Let's hope you didn't do anything you'll regret.

BELATED but among the various bloodletting weaponry, think Amos might be able to find a pair of shobo or Emei piercers? These are basically hand-held weapons, made of wood or metal with a ring on them to help them stay in the hand, used for poking people in uncomfortable places like important nerve clusters and major blood vessels. The shobo tends to be thicker and more substantial than the Emei.

And if not, well, Amos'll just grab a few extra knives. XD

Since these seem to be specialized weapons, Amos won't be able to find any, but he can always ask Rage to provide some once she pops her head out to say hello in a few days!

Getting in on this early, since I'll finally be done with work nonsense! Apologies to everyone so far.

For the first part of the event Kamina is going to be entirely oblivious and more or less calm. Probably disturbingly so, for those of you who have seen him excitable so far.

Over the course of the following week, he's gonna be more and more quietly irritated until he explodes at someone. Or everyone. So, would anyone like a Kamina to just lineface at their angry character until their head explodes? Or would anyone like a super-serious hotheaded do-gooder coming in to show them how a man fights, etc.? I'm seriously down for anything!

Amos is pretty happy-go-lucky and fairly mentally stable, so he's not likely to totally explode at anyone without some provocation: say, being outright attacked. He's most likely to try to talk you down, keep everyone calm, because he hates violence.

But anyone attacking him will make him mad and though he seems like a floppy puppy so far, he's a pretty well-trained criminal thug.

With experience in Aikido, Judo, Tae-kwon-do, fencing, and general street-brawling, he's not an easy target. He prefers knives for weaponry but can use almost anything in a pinch, and tends to fight ugly because while he's fast and flexible, he's also little and can be overpowered. So he likes to end fights before it gets to that point, generally by cutting tendons, stabbing joints, and breaking things like kneecaps and collarbones.

He'll try very hard not to actually kill anyone, because he dislikes killing and dead things are gross.

whoops so guess who kind of has a temper?? usually this kid is a puppy so when he does get angry he tends to let go of it pretty quickly. the sustained rage is... not going to help him with that. he's got like literally no self control so once the rage is blanketing the city he'll probably be yelling constantly unless you drag him to hope's temple.

the upside is he doesn't tend to bring swords into his yelling, tho his fists will still do some damage thanks to his exsphere.

he's also just as likely to get angry FOR you regarding some slight or hardship your character might have, as he is for you like surprising him or making fun of him or something. even angry lloyd still cares too much, really.

Death knights are pretty much pissed off 24/7, and Koltira in particular works hard to keep his temper in check--but this kind of event will make that pretty hard!

Also that slow cold death fear was taunting everyone with, Seviilia is a fan of that one, but choking someone to death is way more satisfying.
