THE RUNDOWN

Hey, you know who hasn't shown his face in awhile? That silly rascal, Fear! And since it's been a few months since he's stared you all down, he figures that it's time to get back in the game and dish out some truly scary events... namely, he thinks that as long as you guys are having nightmares, he might as well put you in one another's dreams and benefit from it. Double nightmares! But don't worry, the other gods will try to stop him and have your back.

On May 16th, Fear will make a network post, in which he will basically taunt you guys and talk about how he's going to make you experience one another's nightmares. Rude! Luckily, the other gods will see this and intervene, making the event something of a free-for-all.

From May 16th-May 26th, characters will find an immeasurable wave of exhaustion descend upon them at roughly the same time each night- yes, even you weirdos who don't sleep at all! Upon falling asleep, will either be a Host or a Visitor. Hosts will be 'touched' by one of the four gods: Fear, Hope, Rage, or Delight, and have corresponding dreams. Visitors will enter into the dreams of a Host and the two of them will experience the dream together.

Have fun as you traverse one another's deepest nightmares or happiest dreams. Watch out for the angry dreams, and do try to enjoy the hopeful ones.

On May 27th, the gods will declare a stalemate and everyone's sleep schedule and dreams will return to normal.

THE DETAILS

Each character can be a Host or a Visitor as many times as you like, but they can only be one each night, for a total of ten nights. This means you can be a Visitor for seven nights and a Host for three, or a Host for all ten nights, with no visiting. Whichever you like! Visitors may visit multiple dreams per night, while Hosts can have multiple visitors per night. It's up to you guys to decide if you want your characters to be aware of repeating dreams or not.

Likewise, each Host can be touched by a single god as many times as they like, with a rule of one dream per hosting night. Five hosting nights, with five Delight dreams? Go ahead! Seven hosting nights with three Fear dreams and four Rage dreams? Have at it!

As far as the dreams themselves are concerned, here are a few ideas of the types of dreams that each god would influence:

Fear: What are you afraid of? Typical nightmares of monsters chasing you, falling forever, running from something? Worst fears and most terrifying memories are all applicable as well. Dreams of Fear's previous events are also possibilities!
Hope: What do you want? Even if it's not possible- a dead friend or family member to return to you, winning endless riches, or succeeding in a long quest.
Rage: What makes you angry? It could be a dream about someone winning something you wanted more than anything, something completely unfair, or that person whose lights you want to punch out. Hey, maybe it's a dream of Fear's face on a punching bag!
Delight What pleases you? Sunny days, picnics in meadows, your favorite food made exactly how you like it... where will you be happiest? What are your favorite things?

These aren't hard guidelines or anything, either- they're just suggestions, if you're having trouble coming up with something!

As a final note, opting out of the dream event is A-ok! Your character does not have to be affected by the exhaustion waves and/or dreamsharing. You also don't need to have 10 nights worth of threads; both handwaving and opting out on certain nights is just fine! The gods are definitely capable of overlooking a few characters.

Alrighty, I have a few general questions for a variety of things that might come up. c:

Will characters know whose dreams they're in somehow or will they need to figure it out? This sort of ties in with the next question, which is if the host character needs to actually be in the dream themselves or if parts/all of the dreams can be solo adventures (in this case I'd guess the host would experience the dream through the visitor's eyes/actions.) Similarly, if both the visitor and host are present, can they work together/influence things as a team?

So I'm thinking of two dreams each for Arya and Johanna, but none of these dreams are super set in stone. If you're interested in something else, let me know and we can absolutely hash something out!

Arya will have a hope dream and a rage dream. Her hope dream will be Arya possessing her direwolf, running through an idyllic snowy forest with a large pack. Most of the pack are she-wolves, but there will be five other wolves, one for each of her siblings. She'll be in the form she enjoys the most, with her favorite wolves/people in the world. Arya's rage dream will feature her slaughtering several people who have wronged her in some way -- the people who murdered her family, her friends, etc. These executions will be violent, bloody, and all-around horrifying. Arya, consumed by intense rage, will cause excessive pain for the people she's killing. Fun times!

Johanna will have a delight dream and a fear dream. Her delight dream will be her strolling through a beautiful, sunny pine forest with a teenage boy (her deceased brother). She won't talk too much, because the boy is pretty talkative, but she'll be happy and healthy. Her fear dream will begin with Johanna stepping into a thunderstorm, but will turn into disjointed snippets of her torture -- solitary confinement, screams from next door, government questioning, men in surgical masks, being doused in water, being electrocuted. This is a pretty intense dream, but will definitely give your character a VIP-pass into Johanna's trauma and baggage that she usually wouldn't share under ordinary circumstances.

Chris and Ruby

Okay, so as usual with dreamscape events I imagine dreams will change depending on the characters visiting and how things go in the dreams themselves, but in general here's some stuff for plotting purposes~


Chris will probably only have fear dreams, mostly because although I can think of a few things to do for the others they'd... Mostly be boring because Chris is a dweeby loser whose idea of a delightful time is studying in the library with his girlfriend. So fear it is, and there will be a few of these~

One will be mostly wendigo-based, taking place on the mountain from Until Dawn, which is very ominous, cold, and dark. Also full of monsters, abandoned mines, and really unstable cliffs and general other hazards that make surviving, especially in a nightmare, kind of a challenge.

The next will have to do with the other events of the night in Until Dawn, so hope you like Saw movies! Lots of awful choices, potential gory deaths, and elaborate setups. This dream will probably be kind of a mishmash of lots of canon things together rather than a clear replay of any one specific event, and I imagine it'll be the most changeable depending on the visitor and what (and who) matters to them most.

And the last will be kind of a combo of Hadriel-event stuff with canon things~ Missed the buried alive event and want to be awful to your character? Want to turn into a wendigo? Wanna be attacked by a wendigo in a snowstorm underground? SURE WHY NOT.

So yeah these should be lots of fun and if anyone wants to plot specific stuff (especially for the second dream setting which would probably change a bit depending on visitor) I am down for it~ Additionally I want Chris to visit other dreams, so I'd love to plot that stuff too. 8D


Ruby is new and I don't want to out her powers and history and such just yet, so she'll only be visiting. She's super nosy and the more info she can learn about other characters the better, so she'll actually enjoy this event a lot even if she ends up in awful dreams.

Noah's going to have three nights off visiting other dreams, and two nights each of Fear and Delight.

The fear one will be the same both nights, the most obvious fear. For those familiar with his canon the short answer is the day he was murdered. It won't start off all that frightening as it covers scattered memories of the few hours leading up to his death as well as the actual murder - which involves searching through a forest only to have his former best friend coming up behind him and beating his face in with a skateboard. It takes him eleven minutes to die. As soon as he does the dream will start repeating back at the beginning like an awful broken record.

The delight dreams will be two different ones. Again, for those familiar with canon it's basically the memory of when Blue came to visit while Gansey and Adam are away. Blue and him in the apartment that was remade out of an old warehouse office section - just doing kid things, jumping on beds, playing truly awful games of pool, having fun really. Oh, and, uh, making out on Gansey's bed. That will be in particular detail and take much longer in the dream than it did in real life. Hey, it's Noah's nice dream, he can focus on what he wants. The second one will be even more fragmented than the Fear dreams, but it has the same cast! Basically just an indeterminable season of hanging out by his car with Whelk and listening to music and shooting the shit, more or less. While everything else (including Noah) is vague, Whelk, the car, and the music will be in sharp detail.

So, if Gansey saw that makeout scene, he'd be all kinds of awkward. Especially if he worked out that it was real, but probably to an extent even if he didn't know it was real, because he would know it meant Noah was interested in Blue. This is not a thing he has really considered before. He thought Adam was the one he had to worry about >>

Would you be up for this? I realise it's not exactly the happy ending one should typically get from a Delight dream!

Krieg

Krieg's dreams are going to be totally and completely open to the public to peruse at their leisure. He will have at least two open dreams but maybe a few more.

There will be at least one fear dream (focusing on the experimentation he suffered at the hands of Hyperion) and one rage dream (focusing on the aftermath of said experimentation). There might be more - I'm still on the fence about it. The important thing is that he used to be a fairly ordinary guy before Hyperion got its hands on him, and his dreams are going to be dredging up all the subconscious memories he uses violence and bloodshed to tamp down.

Naturally both dreams will include a lot of awful violence and bloodshed, so if that's not your thing you might want to skip 'em. His character comes with a general content warning anyhow, but you get the idea.

General Hux

I’m interested in Hux being both Host and Visitor so let me know which you would be interested in.

Mostly, his own personal dreams are going to be fear driven because of the headspace that he’s in right now. He left home terrified he’s facing execution/disgrace thanks to the loss of Starkiller.

Maketh will be the dubious spectator in one of his Fear driven nightmares about his academy days. There will be TW for implied child abuse and all the horrible stuff a fascist society can do to break a young man’s soul and mind.

I could be up for doing another Fear influenced dream if someone has an idea they want to run past me. He has enough fears and hangups to fill up the entire event chokablock full of bad juju.

He will also be a Rage fueled dream where he strikes down every person whom he thinks he has ever slighted him. coughcoughKyloRencoughcough TW for bloody retribution and other heinous things because yeah he’s got a lot of hate suppressed and this will be a cathartic outlet for him.

I also might like to see him have a Delight driven dream cataloging the culmination of all of his personal aspirations where he manages to depose the Supreme Leader, destroy the New Republic and crown himself the leader of a unified and orderly universe. I can’t see so much in the way of TW here aside from the whole “Bad Guys Win” self-indulgent dreams of being a space tyrant. Not that he thinks of himself as one of course but instead as a ruler who will bring peace and order to a galaxy in chaos.

Please note: I’m not going to be bringing in anything really about Starkiller base mainly because it’s kinda a touchy subject for him. And also keep in mind that Hux has bought waaaaaaaaaay into the party line and so his dreams will have a very First Order and Hux skewed angle. He genuinely thinks what he is doing is for the betterment of the galaxy and it will show up in his dreams.

Alrighty, this is going to be interesting. Mechanics first. Would you prefer Maketh be a passive observer, interact with dream!Hux, something in between the two?

Maketh and Miriam

Still doing some thinking for both of my ladies, and I'm open to plotting!

Maketh is going to have at least two fear dreams concerning her time at the Academy and one influenced by delight. Her fear dreams are going to concern two specific events: the graduation "exam" - a holo simulation where she's ordered to execute unarmed prisoners who turn out to be her parents - and a nightmare concerning her former girlfriend's defection from the Empire. The latter is going to be extremely violent, with Maketh essentially living through all the horrible fates could possibly have been dealt out to defectors. None of them are pretty and most of them involve a firing squad. Maketh may be the execution or she might be up against the wall with them - or both! She has lots of confused, guilty feelings about this.

The Inquisitor will probably show up in both dreams in some capacity.

Her delight-inspired dream will be dancing in a club surrounded by a bunch of suddenly not dead TIE pilots, as well as some of her Hadriel friends. There will be lots of alcohol and pretty lights.

The plotting for Miriam is pretty vague at the moment, but she's going to have at least one fear dream concerning the Sons of Plunder and an event she witnessed before coming to Hadriel: watching them torture one of her friends to death and then injecting him with what's essentially a zombie plague virus. Her friend, Gilly, will then chase her and Barnaby through the burning ruins of her home - passing a lot of other nastiness along the way.

She may have a dream involving something fun with Barnaby - sitting in a cart while he pulls her insanely fast through Hadriel, perhaps.

Since Em now knows about Itani leaving, I think that would be a good (lol "good") dream to send her into. As much of a selfish jerk as she is, Emily doesn't want to be at fault for anyone dying, especially if they're a friend (n-not that Maketh is her friend or anything...), so she'd try to help Maketh out. Or deter her from killing someone. Whatever happens :D

Emily

Emily is going to be hosting four dreams, one of each, because she's cool like that.

Hope dream: basically her mirror from the hopeful futures event come to life. Visitors will probably wind up in her office as she stares at the cover with Jessica on it and says something about how badass they are.

Fear dream: visitors will be treated to a really fucked up version of Emily's adventure in the mines (tm). There will be more fire, more wendigo (featuring a butterfly tattoo on her right upper arm, to remind Emily of the part she played in the birth of this particular wendigo), more Matt (he will appear a lot, doing one of three things: blaming her for everything and telling her she sucks, abandoning her to her doom, or dying -- she will be helpless every time and these will happen over and over in true nightmare fashion), and probably more falling. Visitors can help her out or shove her or whatever tbh, have fun.

Rage dream: Emily will be beating the shit out of Mike for all he did to her. (In her mind, he betrayed her by dumping her for Jess. Also, and this is a fact, he pointed a gun out her and threatened to kill her if she didn't basically give herself to the wendigos as an appetizer.) Possibly she'll grab the gun from him and shoot him. She will also slap Jess repeatedly because how the hell does your best friend date your ex not one week after your ex dumped you.

Delight dream: a shopping spree with no spending limit in a mall with stores that carry only the best of the best of everything. Come shop with her or let her give you a makeover or whatever!

I'm happy to handwave anything if you want, both in terms of Em visiting your character's dreams or your character visiting hers, because the sad truth is I want to do more than I can handle for this event wahaha.

Gansey and Damen!

This is just what I have in mind so far! If you would like cr with either of them and what I have planned doesn't ping you, please come and talk to me anyway and we can hash something out! I am interested in having them both host and visit.

Gansey will host primarily fear based dreams, since that's the main influence he hasn't felt here yet! He will have a few different dreams, but essentially they will all be focused around his major fear of death. Gansey has a deathly allergy of wasp and bee stings. At least one of his dreams will prominently feature swarms of monstrous, aggressive ground hornets which will chase, catch, smother and generally terrorise both dream!Gansey and his visitor. This one will involve CW for body horror. Another dream will focus on darkness and depth, and will involve mainly psychological horror.

Damen will host a hope dream, which will be based on his fantasy of what would have happened if he had managed to meet Laurent without their countries being at war. This dream will be gross and romantic. Dream!Damen will not be aware that he's dreaming. If you're visiting, your character will be able to influence this dream; they could take the place of another character within it or they could meet dream!Damen as themselves. Either way, this dream will feature the best possible version of his world that Damen can imagine. Then, to directly contrast that, he will also host a fear dream, in which he will see his worst possible future. In this dream he will watch everyone he cares about die, witness his army fail, and eventually die himself - unless your intervention can help him, of course.

I'm planning for all of these to be open prompts, but if anyone would like a closed prompt for something in particular, please let me know!

Lilith's dreams will be super open! I have no plans re: who she's visiting yet, but as I don't plan to have 10 dreams lol she'll be around for sure.

In her Fear dream, Lilith will be appearing as she was at her weakest and most confused: immediately after her Siren abilities manifested as a young girl! She'll only have the relative strength of a 10 or 11-year-old (and considering she's a newly-orphaned vagrant, not an especially well-nourished or rested one, either), and she'll have extremely limited control over her powers to match. I've got two options, and I can go with one or both depending on interest-- she'll be trying to hitchhike her way off a planet alone in one, and in the other she'll relive Hadriel's wendigo event, but as a bitty thing. Too bad her survival through that event was based on very precise control over her phasewalking... Whoops.

Her Rage dream will be the final boss of Borderlands: the Destroyer! And it will take forever to die. It'll be a cool fight for sure though. Come watch Lilith (and dream versions of Brick, Mordecai + Bloodwing, and Roland) doin' what they do best.

Finally, her Delight dream will be of her (and her boys again, but appearing much less actively) looting the Atlas armory! Essentially: four grownass adults running around a weapons stockpile like a bunch of kids in a candy store. This time, though, there won't be a time limit-- so basically we're playing that "stay in the armory forever" weapon farming glitch, lmfao.

Hmmmmmmm so many things here look fun. 8D I'm torn between little!Lilith and Chris adventures with wendigos, or the rage dream because it'd be awesome to see her world (or at least what she does; I know nothing of Borderlands.) Maybe both~?

Bigby doesn't seem to have a lot of hopeful or happy memories, but oh boy does he have some angry and fearful ones, which will be open to all!

His Fear dream will come in two main flavours: him as a young wolf cub, trying (and importantly, failing) to protect his dead mother's corpse from enemies and scavengers - which is what he'll see his Visitors as. Unfortunately he is also the runt of his litter so he will be almost entirely ineffectual against them.

The second dream he'll have is about Bloody Mary and his fight to kill her, so. That's fun. You can either either help Mary tear Bigby apart, or help him against her. Or take a third option! But either way, whenever one Mary goes down, two more come to take her place. She's like a spooky mirror hydra.

Meanwhile, his Rage dream is a lot simpler: wolf on a rampage. You might find him surrounded by the corpses of knights and villagers of Ye Olde Times, wooden soldiers that are unsettlingly human-looking and turn to ash where they lie dead, it could be other Fables. But when the Visitor comes a'calling, the werewolf form will turn on them. Who needs a throat to live, right?

I'm a hundred percent open to discussing other things though! Either here or on Plurk at Maniette 8D

I have a couple sample dreams (a few fear, a rage, and a delight) whipped up for Firo here. Others can be written up on request! I'd like him to have chances to host and to visit, so please let me know if you're interested in visiting a dream or if you'd like him in yours.

Fear sounds like the ideal setup for Carlisle and Firo to have an action-packed getaway -- this time, minus his arm falling off!

Newt.

Newt is nightmare trauma island here so all of his dreams except for one will pretty much be Fear and Rage. There will be glimpses of Hope and Delight as well. I'm dividing this by experiences. Trigger warnings for mentions of torture, severe mental illnesses, mutilation of self and others, possible child death, possible mentions of suicide.

More details on the subjects below will be put into the actual post. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

The Maze - Fear
For those interested in the Maze that Newt's always talking about, line up for this dream. This dream could technically align a little bit with Delight if one wants to see the Glade where all of his friends would be happily alive and together. But the dream is no doubt going to melt quickly into a nightmare as Newt goes out to run into the Maze. Run with him. The nightmare will consist of not making it back in time before the doors shut and getting stuck in the Maze with the Grievers during the night. Could happen multiple ways. Could even see what happens to one of the Gladers when they get stung by the Grievers. Who knows!

Crank - Rage
This one is a two-option kind of deal. Your character can arrive in this dream perfectly mentally in tact and arrive at the Crank Palace where all of the Cranks are kept holed up. They can see up close and personal the kind of hell of being a Crank and living in Newt's world with this illness and find Newt in the mess.

Or they can arrive in the dream and progressively degrade into a Crank as they go along. This option is rage because Cranks are known for their rage. Fear is kind of obliterated in madness and replaced with paranoia and agitation. For anyone interested in this option, there are several symptoms of a Crank and I will write a more detailed explanation for the post itself when the time comes.

Torture - Fear
Newt's tortured for a month in order to trigger his disease into jump start. His torture in the book is extremely non specific. We don't actually know what happens to Newt but Thomas remarks that it had to of been absolutely awful for how Newt looks after wards. It's no doubt a series of mental mind games that broke Newt down and bled him out a bit. More details will be added in. Similar to the Crank experience, a character can either encounter Newt during this or be put into his place instead and experience it through his eyes. The marker for characters knowing that they are in Newt's dream will be the fact that the Rat Man will continuously call them 'Newt'.

Paradise - Hope
In his world, there was a supposed "Paradise" for the immune. Newt never got to see this so he has no clue what it's like. This is his version of paradise which will be pretty lovely and have all of his living friends in it and probably a world in which he isn't sick. A relatively calm dream all things considered.

So I’ve been looking forward to this even when I was only stalking the game. Lots of bouncy excited conversations about what dream flavors I might give Ai, and I’ve pretty much settled for sure on Hope and Delight. And now that I’m thinking about it I might throw out a Fear dream too because what is gently breaking in the newbie? Anyway all her dreams will be open for anyone to visit and I am planning to have her visit others. Definitely Mello and Yu because visiting both is necessary but I will be having her visit others too.

Anyway thoughts so far on her dreams:

Delight will be a real treasure for Ai and potentially a nightmare for anyone else. The basic gist is that she and her visitor will be in a boutique/clothing store (Probably Croco Fur from home for the sake of familiarity so think gaudy pink walls and fitting rooms with puffy lilac curtains and perfumed air) and she will be attempting to give her visitor a fashion update.

Her Hope dream is going to be super superficial. Lots of being loved and adored and accepted by her classmates back in Inaba. Themes of making amends and attempting to actually just be one of the girls back home instead of the Queen Bitch everyone has come to know.

And her Fear dream is going to be a rehash of an old wound for her. Specifically Ai will be reliving the day she finally got up the courage to confess to the boy she liked and he not only rejected her but rejected her really harshly, going so far as to say that if he dated her he’d catch her germs in the process. This dream will have a lot to do with body image and poor self-esteem and internal fatphobic commentary.

Peter has all kinds of dreams available for the dreaming:

Fear:
- being chased, very specifically by police officers, though a very fancy house, holding someone's hand. it ends in that person being ripped away and being tackled very painfully to the ground, with a gun pointed right at your face, complete with indistinct but threatening shouting. besides the pain and fear, there's a feeling of defeat, a certainty of death, and a sort of odd wistfulness.
- being a vargulf. basically, trapped in a wolf body, hunting, and definitely out for blood. what's being hunted and whether it's caught would be up to you (spoilers it's probably people and if you catch them you eat them)
- a montage of cages. being buried alive a la the fear event, being trapped in what some might recognize as a dog crate, being restrained down to a medical table with the hovering threat of some sort of inventive procedures being performed, being suffocated slowly by a collar...basically any kind of terrifying restraint you can think of.

Hope
- in a hammock, dozing, with a cold beer and a good cigarette out in the sun under a canopy of trees. possible cameos by peter's mother and cousin. this dream would likely jump around a lot, and mostly be happy family times, especially reuniting with his mother.

Rage:
- that vargulf thing again, except this time there's only bloodlust, and boy is whoever you just caught to eat really satisfyingly viscerally delicious, and now you know how human flesh tastes. except once they've been nommed on, that bloodlust only returns. time to go hunting again. and again. and again.

Delight:
- happy family times! big ol' roma parties and hanging with his mom and cousin, drinking and smoking and shooting the shit.
- running through the forest as a wolf. prominent features include sniffing everything, peeing on trees, and basically being a happy dog.

Choose your own adventure! Peter's dreams are pretty 'normal', but normal for him involves having a vampire bff and finding half-eaten corpses and turning into a wolf that eats his own skin so ymmv on 'normal'.

Wade's primarily going to be having Fear and Hope dreams, but the Hope ones will probably fuck him up the most.

Fear - Will mostly consist of being a test subject, either back in the Workhouse where he first got his powers or in Haven, one of his last games. It's probably gonna deal with a lot of icky medical stuff/gore, and I'll put a warning on my top level for that, but if it's something you're at all squeamish about just let me know and I'll make sure to gloss over it in subsequent tags.

Hope - Being in a cleaned-up, idealized version of Haven, hale and healthy and with all of his friends, loved ones and family members all around him. Wade will much more likely to be torn up by these dreams as a result (it's a sad day when nightmares are more comforting than good dreams), so if anyone wants to hang out with an unstable mercenary after he's been stabbed right in the emotional Achilles' heel, feel free! This is not gonna end in tears or stabbing at all.

Adam Parrish

Adam will be having primarily Fear and Delight dreams. I'm also totally down for him to visit anyone's dreams, regardless of the content.

His fear dream will mostly feature his father, and what could have happened if Ronan didn't step in and Adam didn't press charges and get out of there. As such, there'll be a strong content warning for physical and emotional abuse. It'll also probably feature Gansey dying horribly, probably at Adam's hands, Adam losing control of himself, all his other friends also dying (and it being his fault) and general failure. Also, scary dark forests and ghosts and seeing things that shouldn't be there, which is kind of Adam's daily life - so it's stuff he's not scared of when he's awake, but with the influence of Fear it could get bad. Also, depending on how the dreams go, they might involve being buried alive.

His delight dream will be pretty disjointed since Adam canonically has a hard time recognizing his own happiness, but it'll involve a beautiful and kind of weird forest, trees speaking Latin, sunny days, nice cars, academic success, doing magic, and being with his friends. Not necessarily in that order and not necessarily including all of those things, though if there's something specific you'd like to show up for your character to see, I can totally make it happen.

Josh Washington

Josh is gonna serve up some Fear and Rage dreams, because frankly there's not a whole lot of Delight and Hope in him. Don't be fooled by his penchant for drinking and acting like a stupid young adult, this kid has some problems he is totally avoiding working through.

His fear dream will involve his sisters dying, over and over, and being unable to stop it. It'll also probably involve turning into a wendigo, and being abandoned over and over again. So that's nice. Let it go far enough and there's a small chance it'll also involve Josh finally becoming so mentally unstable that he's forced to spend the rest of his life locked up somewhere.

His rage dream will involve horror movie scenarios that your characters will have to deal with because uh... that's how Josh works out his anger...?? It also might involve wendigos and his residual anger at both himself and his friends for what happened to his sisters. But mostly weird horror movie shit. It sure looks like a fear dream! It sure isn't.

Oh dear. I'm not really sure which one to throw Emily into. On the one hand, seeing just how afraid of his own illness Josh is would maybe, idk, help them?? But then, Emily didn't get to undergo Josh's horror movie shit in the game, so it could be interesting to see what he would've done to her.

When he's hosting, Ronan is going to have some Hope and Fear dreams!

His Hope night is likely going to be extremely bittersweet and will take place at the Barns, his childhood home. Expect lots of fluffy, affectionate cows, tiny mice, a couple of chickens, giant hay bales to jump off of, with potential guest appearances by Ronan's father (It's Complicated), his brothers (It's Also Complicated), or his mother (It's... you get the picture). Ronan himself could be one of two possibilities- 1. the Real Ronan, who will likely be aware that this is a god-influenced dream because he doesn't allow himself to dream of this place, and will likely extremely wary and potentially violent. Or 2. the Ronan that fits in with the dream, ie: Ronan before his father was killed. If you wanna do his Hope dream then we might need to talk a bit just to hash out some details of how we want to roll with it!

His Fear dream will generally consist of running through the woods at night. It's likely that both Ronan and his dream visitor will be chased by bird-raptor-demon things, dragons made of fire, and/or other monsters. Expect to find corpses as well- his father's (which has happened), his brother's (which has not), or his own (which is a gray area). These corpses can be dead or ambling about and generally blaming people for things, like the rude corpses they are.

Both dreams are a pretty decent opportunity to pry behind Ronan's fortified front, and would be an excellent opportunity to get a good chunk of CR with him!

I'm also 100% game for Ronan to hop into other dreams as well. He will retain his ability to take objects from dreams, and can potentially (likely accidentally) take something from your character's dream. A keepsake, a monster, a body part, a diary- anything within reason! It will have to be an object that your character would naturally have in that dream, as Ronan would not be able to shape your character's dreams. I'd really like to explore this as well, so hit me up!

I am crazy and would love to have Ai visit one of Ronan's dreams. I'm not sure which (I'm kind of torn between them) but definitely one of them if you are interested in Ronan meeting a fashion obsessed rich girl?

This one will only be having fear dreams... without the influence of those fireflies, he's still stuck on very fresh memories and getting some nasty nightmares from them.

Most prominent of all will be dreams of an endless sea of flames burning up medieval Japanese buildings. This will be potentially very violent and disturbing, filled with the screams and sight of dying/burning men everywhere at the very least. At its heart, within the one building that isn't burning, you will find Oda Nobunaga, who will openly challenge the dreamer with the question 'what is it you desire?' How things unfold after this will depend hugely on how the person answers, or doesn't.

Mitsuhide himself in this dream will attempt to face off against Nobunaga but struggle, ridden by guilt. His own responses to the dreamer will depend on what they say to him, so it can get better, or, uh, worse. Or a lot worse. I'm really interested in seeing either course but the latter would be particularly fascinating considering it veers directly against canon and would be really painful for Mitsuhide to go through. 8')

BOY HOWDY I AM HYPE FOR THIS.

Mello just got here and what is breaking in newbies gently. He'll have at least one dream apiece for Fear, Rage, and (oddly enough) Hope. Fear will be an aftermath of the raid on his hideout, with lots of weird dream logic thrown in. Rage will feature Near, obviously; one dream of that time he pulled a gun on the back of his head, except this time he'll actually shoot him, and the other a rehash of the day he left the orphanage, probably with a sharper underscore on him being a big failure (his view of himself). Hope will be the worst dream of all, something about actually solving the Kira case instead of Near, which will be awful because Mello knows it's kind of impossible, and given his canon point, he's pretty much resigned himself to the fact that he's not going to win this one ... or, you know, anything. :c No Delight dream for him because hollow laughs what is happiness.

Nick will have corresponding dreams for each of the four gods. Fear will get two; one of being stalked/chased by another really gross Nightbane in Stanley Park, and for the other, kind of a replay of the assassin event, where she goes full-on monster and just hurts/kills people with her powers. :c Rage will have to do with her awful mother being abusive and awful to her. Delight will feature tiny babby Nick and her father driving in his truck down gravel roads and singing along to music, which is gonna be super painful for her because her dad died when she was a kid and it was basically the worst thing that ever happened to her. ;~; Hope will be stargazing out in the countryside and talking about the future.

There will be a lot of likely upsetting material for both of these jerks but I will mark cws where needed! I'm planning to have them both visit around, too. If you wanna plot specific things, hit me up here or on ventose!

ASHLEY will primarily be a visitor. She will play host to a single FEAR dream involving a deconstructed take on the events from Blackwood Lodge. It will take place in a tight, dilapidated hallway that stretches on for what seems like forever, and will feature heavily common horror items such as: saws, dead pigs, creepy chains, and the brutal deaths of dream friends. It will likely end brutally for anyone who happens into this dream with her.

SHARON DA SILVA will host two dreams, one Fear and one Delight. For FEAR, it will take place in a large church, and it will be filled with those who have died or turned into monsters by Alessa's hand, their bodies held together only by barbed wire. It will very much be a fight to survive sort of dream, and losers may find themselves burned alive by the angry mob of religious dead folk!

DELIGHT will be a much sweeter, and slower dream. It will take place in a modern looking house, in the early morning. Sharon da Silva will look approximately ten or eleven in this particular dream, and her family will feature heavily. This is the dream you want to have if you miss morning breakfasts with your family, or just fluffy pancakes, fresh orange juice, and Saturday morning cartoons.

Steve will be having Fear, Rage, and Hope dreams.

His fear dream will mostly consist of him being extremely sick - feverish and bedridden, that sort of thing. Also alone, and the radio playing in the background will probably also be talking about the Allies being defeated and America troops being captured and executed.

His rage dream will consist of fighting bullies, all day everyday, no matter how banged up and bloody he is (think rabid chihuahua and you've got the picture).

His hope dream will consist of a USO dance where he actually gets asked to dance - so come ask him to dance. :>

Also interested in having him as a Visitor to other people's dreams!

You can understand why it's not a big deal—you're not human either, are you, dream visitor? I'm down for philosophical debates (for a certain standard of "debate") about why it's not cool to grill people (or maybe it is??) or any other way this could possibly go.
