Monthly Rundown: November Edition

Hello, all, and welcome to the second month of Hadriel! Thank you to all our players for making the first month so fun and exciting. We're looking forward to getting pieces of the overall plot more in gear over the coming months, so we've got some good stuff in store! If you ever have any suggestions or feedback you'd like to offer us mods, remember you can always drop us a line here. And with no further ado, here is your monthly rundown...

NOVEMBER PART 1: GIFTS & HUNTERS

After the traumatizing events at the end of October, November starts off with an apology from Hope. On November 4th, everyone receives a book as a gift, thanks to a small human child who complained about the books in the library being unreadable (and Hope feeling bad about Fear's nonsense). Each book is different, and personalized to the character who receives it. Most will be books that bring up fond memories in the recipients - favorite bedtime stories from childhood, books shared with a loved one, something that has positive meaning. If your character has nothing that would fit that, they'll receive a book about a topic relevant to them. Which book they get is entirely up to their player, but they should all be relatively positive things - topics they're interested in, self-help, fiction in genres they like, etc. If you have any questions about whether something would be allowed or if you're not sure what they'd get, feel free to ask down below!

After a peaceful week or so, new arrivals will appear in the intro log on November 10th. They arrive alongside Hunters from the game Monstrum. These hard-to-spot, eerily strong monsters are more than ready to try to pick off the new arrivals - and whoever else might be around - before they flee into the caves. While this is meant for new arrivals, we highly encourage current players to get involved too! Save these precious new cinnamon rolls from certain death.

Finally, on an OOC note, Hadriel's first CR meme will go up on November 14th. Get your clever character descriptions and silly gifs ready, and prepare to make some new CR!

NOVEMBER PART 2: HOPESGIVING

On the heels of a relatively calm first half of the month, our first Hope event will be happening from November 19-29th. Hope is still getting the hang of how humans work, so he'll be asking people to bring him examples of things that give them hope - whatever that means to them. If they can inspire hope in others with those things, or work together to do so, that's even better. Whoever brings him the best, most hope-inspiring idea or object will win a prize, and if enough people participate, he'll provide the city with a luxurious feast of familiar foods. (He heard some of you complaining about the weird food. Needy humans.)

Of course, Fear can't just let this happen. He'll be getting in on it too - encouraging people to bring him examples of things that inspire fear, with a reward being possible there too. Your character can choose to align with either god, try to play both sides, or simply not participate - but then they'll miss out on the possibility of a fabulous prize that will definitely not be a box full of spiders! More information on this event will be available in an OOC post that will go up later in the month.

If all goes well, the event will culminate on November 28th & 29th with a feast for the city, and Hope will go away happy and full of power - and more importantly, ready to resurrect a new god in December.

Also, our first activity check will run from November 23rd-30th. The requirements are here, if you'd like to make sure you've got all your threads in order! We won't be reminding you each month, but since this is the very first, we want everyone to be ready. Characters apping in during November will be exempt!
