So Alphys has had Hadriel throw a certain someone at her many times in illusion form, so in an attempt to spice things up, she'll be seeing Mettaton! Yes, that Mettaton that's already here, shh, shhhhh. He'll be in his box form so he's distinct from the Mettaton in-game, but it's the same guy. In Alphys' timeline, Mettaton died working with her through a convoluted scheme to make herself look like a hero, which didn't... happen to the Mettaton in game, and she's been bottling that guilt for a long time. She'll absolutely need a rescue, though it's looking like the Actual Mettaton might be able to provide.
(here's my preemptive warning for adventure zone spoilers here lmao) for Taako, meanwhile, he'll be seeing his secret twin sister, Lup! However, because of a number of canon shenanigans, he doesn't remember her in the least and the ghost won't be able to remind him, so he's just going to be incredibly confused when it comes out everyone's seeing loved ones and he's thinking the gods are just projecting back a girl version of him (which like, way to assume he's heterosexual, Love, rude). As soon as it becomes apparent this ghost is taking his energy, however, he'll kill her quickly and we'll see THAT trauma after a canon update some months down the road. He'll be down for killing other people's ghosts, but only if he likes you. If he really likes you ya probably won't be able to stop him, sorry if you wanted to die or whatever. He's got a thing with liches.
Since both of these don't lend well to top-levels I'm not sure if either will be getting one?? I'm coming off hiatus right when this starts so I don't wanna overload myself anyway, but lmk if you want these two anywhere!!!
