Event OOC: End of Arc 2

Good morning and welcome to The End of Arc 2! This is a rather massive event and can be a bit of a doozy in terms of OOC communication- there's a lot of info to cover in this post, so please give it a look through and feel free to ask any questions in the comments!

THE CATALYST
The event will start with the Null sending coordinates to the four characters who killed someone off of their hit list: Malkus, Yukari, Rey, and Ikaruga!

While Rey, Yukari and Ikaruga are planning on double crossing the Null and using their weapons to help the gods, Malkus will be instructed to storm Hope's temple and kill him for good- and he's promised an ally in the coming fight. When there, he meets up with the guards on duty: Henry Percy, Saber, Percy Jackson, and Drake and predictably, a fight ensues.

Four against two isn't really fair though, and so out of the shadows comes the person who gave the Null the location of the city at the end of Arc 1, who gave them access to the network in the beginning of Arc 2, who prevented important information from being found on the spy mission, who transported the godkillers into the city, who ensured that the deaths in the city were genuine deaths, and whose primary motivation has always been self preservation: none other than the goddess Delight herself.

Delight struck a deal with the Null back in Arc 1 to kill Hope and turn over the city in exchange for the other seven gods becoming prisoners/power generators and the eventual release of all the citizens in Hadriel back to their own worlds through the Door. Which, aww, sweet. But also, kind of what a bitch, am I right?

Of course, Hope doesn't know this and arrives at his own temple when he senses Delight there, only to find her killing Saber and Henry before allowing the god killer to be turned on Hope himself. Luckily, Henry is still alive enough to send out one last SOS post to the network, warning everyone of the coming disaster and cutting Delight's plan short. Ikaruga, who had utilized the information to flank the attackers and try to cut off the means of escape, will show up and enter the fray then, just long enough to stall Delight for reinforcements to arrive!

Delight is forced to flee when Hope's allies show up in droves- but not before clearing a path through the tunnels for a Null invasion.

THE INVASION
They warned you on the 22nd, and now it's for real. Allowed access to the city via Delight, the Null will quickly flood the city with reinforcements, just in case Delight's plan fell through (which, thanks to the ones standing guard at Hope's temple, it has). This is overwhelmingly not good.

The Null are singleminded in their desire to kill Hope or any of the other six gods (Delight excluded, of course). They will also destroy anything that they believe gives the gods power: art, buildings, temples, meeting places. The clinic, guard HQ, library and dam/power generator will subsequently be burned to the ground and destroyed.

They will cut down anyone who attempts to defend the gods or the buildings. They will also target any person on their hit list if they see them. In addition, if your character fights the Null in any capacity at any time, they will be added to the list of acceptable casualties and will immediately find themselves targeted by any Null they come across. This means that if your character is not on the list, does not engage the Null, and does not lift a finger to fight them, they will be left eerily alone as dozens of killer robots swarm past them, seemingly ignoring them.

In the midst of the attack, Delights temple acts as a safe haven. If you visit there, you will have a deep desire to stay- it will also be the only temple untouched by the Null and unattacked by them. They will not follow player characters into the temple and will largely leave it alone. However, Delight will be MIA from her temple and throughout the attack will likely not answer her inbox on the network.

THE RESISTANCE
During all of this, Hope is severely injured. This means that food and revivals will be scarce and take much longer. Revivals in particular are more likely to be longer, messier, or nonexistent until the event is over. This means that if they come back, characters are likely to come back with something wrong with their bodies- missing parts, different color eyes, mental fog or confusion- that sort of thing! These effects are permanent unless/until they are healed by a god or another player character.

This also means that the monsters in the tunnels will once again flood the city, encouraged by none other than Confusion, who will be attempting to use her abilities to direct the monsters toward the Null. The enemy of my enemy is my friend (who still wants to eat me probably)? Enjoy your weird three-way fight between the horrors of the tunnels and the precise killing machines. The Null will likely have the upper hand in most of these battles, but feel free to use the resulting chaos to your advantage!

Once the clinic has been destroyed, Love will establish a safe haven at the hot springs. While Love is not able to heal as effectively as Hope can, they will provide pain relief and much more minor healing, as well as a small area that the Null find difficult, but not impossible, to attack.

As Hope is injured, he is something of an easy target. He will need guarding at all times- guarding which will come from a mixture of volunteers and NPCs. Guarding Hope will immediately put your character on the hit list and you will likely have to deal with many Null, so look out!

On the final day of the attack, December 5th the Null will launch a full-scale attack on Hope's temple. This will be a bloody and brutal fight and at the end of it, Hope's guardian, Sorrow, will be killed. In those moments, a massive wave of sadness will envelop the entire city, lasting for about thirty seconds before his energies are dispersed. The emotional impact is tremendous, and will be enough to even stop the Null in their tracks as they are faced with a sudden onslaught of guilt and regret at their actions.

This only lasts for a minute or two before they purge their systems and it's over- long enough to open up a weak spot in the Null. Attack them here or risk losing it all. RIP Sorrow.

THE ESCAPE
With everything in the murdercave going to hell in a handbasket, it's up to Fear to again move the city to escape from the Null while they're weak. Unfortunately, he can't just leave the Null behind- wherever he moves the city, everything in the city comes with it. Therefore, after the city is transported on December 5th, the Hadrielites will still have to deal with the remaining Null- the good news here is that the supply of reinforcements is temporarily cut off. That is, until the Hadriel Null can establish a connection with their friends and upload their coordinates. So, it's time for an extermination! Take one, take them all, and dump them into the tunnels outside the city, quick so Fear can move it again- or else, who knows what might happen!

Delight will also have been moved along with the city, and the sudden change in location will temporarily disorient her long enough for Tranquility to capture and imprison her to prevent her from escaping the city now that her true colors have been revealed. More info on what will be done with her will come later!

In the meantime, you will have another week to fully purge the city of Null. During this time, there will be no new reinforcements. There will also be an NPC Post on December 6th detailing what happened and what the plan going forward is. Good luck!

After a week, Fear needs to move the city again, to leave the straggling Null behind, and on December 12th the city will move to a location that nobody has ever been before, a location... aboveground.

More information on that will be available as it draws closer.

THE NULL
The Null are a race of highly intelligent hiveminded machines. What one of them knows, the rest will know within seconds. This makes fighting them difficult, as they can quickly adapt and react to changes.

Their bodies are made of steel, predictably, though they are articulated with hundreds of thousands of small moving parts. These parts can be realigned and are mobile, allowing them to essentially shapeshift into forms that suit their needs. Shapeshifting has limits, of course and all of them can reach a maximum height of about 8 feet and weigh 1500-2500 lbs. They require some way to move across the ground, generally with two or more limbs. They cannot fly. As Rage mentioned in her post, they are experimenting with bipedal limbs and so many of them look humanoid during this invasion.

Still, they don't necessarily have to. You could find yourself facing one who is more tanklike, more swift and elegant, or more spindly with multiple limbs to have diverse and adaptive ways of moving. The Null communicate through their own network and do not have any type of speakers or vocal chords, though they can hear and interpret external sound just fine.

The Null have central processors, located generally on the 'core' of whatever form they're taking: in the stomach for a human-looking one, for example. These processors are about the size of a soda can and their forms cannot be altered and they always look the same no matter what form is taken. These processors must be destroyed with some sort of excessive force in order to stop the Null from functioning. They can be cut, stabbed, forcibly removed, or disintegrated, so long as the attack is strong enough to puncture the steel casing. If a processor is removed from the body, the Null is still 'alive' and can communicate with its allies to be rescued- so be careful with that.

Removing any sort of limb or form of mass will not kill a Null, neither will extreme heat or cold (though it might slow them down a little). They can be restrained, but are extremely strong, so take care in doing so.

The Null are outfitted with a type of laser cutter as an offensive weapon. These weapons are short range (about 2 feet in length) and can immediately slice through and simultaneously cauterize flesh. These weapons, if removed from a dead Null, can be engineered with some work to turn on and can cut through the Null's outer shell.

Their long range weapon is an electricity-based projectile that will shock/stun the target on contact. The projectile is fired from their limbs, rather than any form of gun. The electrical impact can cause seizures or heart issues- but if you're lucky enough to avoid those, then the stun can be resisted (though it is very difficult to do so). The purpose of this is generally to incapacitate a target to allow them to close in and kill cleanly with their cutter.

Finally, the Null have a crowd-killing weapon, though very few of them carry this. The crowd-killing weapon is a device which emits a piercing sound that eventually destroys the brain of the target (hint: this is how the Hosts were killed). This is about the size of a microwave and cylinder shaped, with a control panel in an alien language- no buttons are seemingly pushable though and it's impossible to interact with it at a glance. As the Null don't want to kill all of you (yet) this will be used sparingly as a zoning tool initially to clear characters away from buildings to be destroyed- toward the end of the invasion, the wail of it will be audible just about everywhere, though the true 'danger zones' will be restrained by Rage and focused only on the god temples (excepting Delight's), the library, the clinic, and the guard HQ. These are 'leave it and walk away' type weapons and will typically be unguarded.

THE DETAILS
We will keep this part short because this post has been long enough! Most everything has been explained, but we want to stress that this is a very open sort of event, as far as plotting goes! Characters are welcome to ignore the Null entirely if they aren't on the list, or to organize their own underground resistances, to fight with the gods, aganst the gods, or even with the Null!

This event is a fairly big deal and we both welcome and encourage any serious ramifications or fallout, so go crazy with it! We will do our best to facilitate any and all plotting needs.

As always, thank you guys for being so awesome and we hope you have fun!

THE OVERVIEW

► November 25th: Delight attempts to kill Hope, but is stopped by the guard. The Null attack.
► November 30th: The Null begin zoning full areas of the city with their sonic blasting weapons.
► December 5th: Sorrow is killed, Delight is captured, Fear teleports the city temporarily.
► December 6th: Fear post to the network.
► December 12th: The city is (hopefully) rid of the Null and Fear teleports the city again, this time somewhere new.

Guard Catchall

[personal profile] synthedick 2017-11-22 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Mostly to save me some sanity as Nick tries to reach to the Guard for assignments when he gets on the network. If you've got a place you want him to send your character specifically, put it here please!
synthedick: (♠ data recovery)

Nick Valentine

[personal profile] synthedick 2017-11-22 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
As put in the Guard catchall, Nick is going to be at the Guard HQ when they launch the attack against it, and will go from there in terms of trying to take them out. When Henry goes down, he'll be assuming command of the Guard, so look for him giving out orders for those who are still alive! The city needs your help, folks.

Aside from that, expect him to be around trying to take out as many Null as possible. If your character has never met him before, feel free to assume he might be on the side of the machines! It could lead to some interesting situations. :D He's mostly going to be trying to get people to safety in all the chaos while hoping his family isn't dead somewhere.
dragonsgrasp: (free you from your hesitation)

Kain

[personal profile] dragonsgrasp 2017-11-22 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Kain will rush to the front lines of battle, the moment he's aware of it. He'd probably be doing his regular patrolling somewhere anyway, so he'll be ready to spring into action. He'll try and keep in touch with the rest of the Guard, but he's bad at communication so he'll mostly be focused on the fighting itself and trying to defend others who need it.

He's also on the list, and definitely still angry at the Null threatening those who can't fight. So he's doing that stupid/brave thing and will be making a point to draw Null attention his way throughout this.

Not sure about timing yet, but all of this will lead to either severe injury or death for him by the very end (possibly with a messed-up revival for fun!). Otherwise, he's up for pretty much anything!

Gren

[personal profile] murderpotato 2017-11-22 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Gren is definitely going to be taking the fight to these robo-assholes. He's a pretty heavy hitter when he's out of glamour and is probably close to the same weight class as the Null, so he'll want to be wherever the fighting is thickest. He might hang around Lup and Taako for a while because, hey, he owes them a favor or whatever. They cooked dinner for him.

Also I am 100% certain that Gren's going to get badly injured in this whole shebang and considering having him just get straight up killed, so that's a thing.

Lance and Chris

[personal profile] lifetothefullest 2017-11-22 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Tentative plans here since things might be subject to change, BUT:

Lance will be mostly at the Clinic for the first part of things; although he's not on the hit list, he'll very quickly end up on it through helping defend anyone else who's targeted. He won't be completely stuck at the Clinic, but will lurk around there often because like 90% of the staff is on the list and also lbr people are going to end up injured.

Speaking of which, although I don't want him to deal with any very serious injuries, he'll probably end up with some mild/moderate ones through the course of the event and I'm up for plotting any healing and such~ Once the Clinic is taken out, he'll probably just sort of go wherever he's most useful, and do his best to help destroy any Null until he runs out of bullets and may resort to other methods, depending.

Chris has been mostly at Delight's temple as per her request, so that's where he'll be when everything goes down. Due to the compulsion to stay there, he'll probably be out of the fray for a bit but will then manage to leave the temple and go out to try to help and/or hide elsewhere. I need to recheck his CR meme stuff but I know there were a few things plotted so he'll probably be all over the place, and I'll probably just wing it for how he fares during the event. He'll probably end up part of the group trying to defend Hope, so we'll see.

I'm totally open to plotting stuff with either of my boys!

Nagito Komaeda

[personal profile] hoperulesdespairdrools 2017-11-22 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Since I've been busy a little bit I don't have any proper plans yet but being a fanatic of anything that brings hope, Komaeda will likely put himself in the firing line - either for Hope himself or for anybody he's met and likes in Hadriel (possibly the people he met in Squad 5, depending on CR). I'd rather he didn't get killed in his first month although I'm happy for him to be severely injured in the process.

Komaeda isn't a fighter but he does know how to use bombs. He's also very clever, manipulative and crafty and often relies on his luck to carry out any plans. So yeah, I'm up for anybody who wants to do anything like that or have any similar ideas.

Michael Munroe + The Visitor

[personal profile] aroundthecoroner 2017-11-22 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah they get a plotting comment together this time.

Michael is not a fighter but he has medical training of course so after verifying that his close CR is not dead/in need of a rescue, he will likely focus his efforts on the clinic, attempting to help out. He will advocate for moving the clinic or keeping it mobile because it's clearly a target. Remember that test run they had during the fire event? Maybe they should try that one again.

Once he starts using the Visitor, he won't be much use outside of that because he'll be incredibly exhausted, but he could probably like, I don't know, put some band-aids on things.

The Visitor is gonna show up like, for sure. The first time will likely be just a self-defense move as Null flood the clinic, but after that Michael might attempt to team up with somebody who can watch his unconscious body while his murderghost runs amok.

For those who don't know, the Visitor is a monstrosity that's lowkey possessing Michael. When physically manifested it's a 9ft mass of ghost-y black substance with a weird human/bear hybrid skeleton at its core. It has a mouth that can fit a human head in easily and 3 inch claws, and the only way to stop it is to take the bones apart, basically. It'll be good for crowd clearing, since it's immune to both the electricity and the sonic weapon (it's made of magic and bones that are also made of magic). What it can't cut through with its natural weapons, it will tear apart with brute force.

It will primarily be targeting the Null, since they are very clearly a threat to All, but priority goes to anyone/thing that's trying to murder someone in eyeshot or trying to damage its host (Michael).

Releasing the Visitor is a once-daily thing for Michael, though it doesn't have a limit to how long it can be active (until something destroys it or it's out of targets in its vicinity, p much). It's going to mess him up pretty bad to summon it every day consecutively, but he's going to ignore that and deal with those consequences later, because it's the only thing he can do.

I am down for Michael getting his shit wrecked while he's knocked-out and vulnerable, but I'm also interested in anybody who'd like to help stop that from happening. Also, if you want your character to see the Visitor in action, close CR or no, now is your chance. (Feel free to handwave it if you like, as it'll likely be all over the place during the event.)

Malkus is here to tear things up and be emboldened by Delight’s buffing! Maybe our captors ain’t so bad, as Malkus is now sturdier and all around robust enough to be a real pain in the ass. Hell, even without any help he can be dangerous like a cornered trash panda. Expect him to maintain a certain level of civility as he rushes to swipe at his friends with poisoned claws. It’s nothing personal, he just really needs to return home already.

What he brings with him are a collection of poisonous vapors circling him like a cloud. As for effects, he’s been amassing mushboom spores as well as a host of other toxins, so he’s definitely an issue added on top of his Null entourage. While he’d like to focus on bringing harm to the Gods, he’s willing to come to blows against anyone that gets in his way. I plan to have him die! But as for that, I’m still hashing out just when and how.

Will is going to be at the clinic....until it becomes clear it's a target and then he will strongly advice to move it somewhere defensible. The clinic staff can't heal people if they're under constant attack. He'll defend his patients if needed, and let's be real, with the clinic and 90% of the staff on the list, it's going to be needed).

He might get injured (he's on the list, but has unbelievable dodging abilities and has weapons), but I'd like to avoid getting him killed since he's fifteen and his boyfriend would lose his shit(although given the Null attack, a really pissed off Nico di Angelo might not be a bad thing).

Seel will be in the bunker he made with Delmar, making sure it's defensible and helping shield it and people and attack the Null if the bother him. Which they will since he's also on the list. So if anyone needs a safe place, have at it.

He's also got a connection to Cal who can ferry people to the bunker and help out if anyone needs rescuing.

[personal profile] citytraveler 2017-11-23 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
shameless copy/paste from the guard plot post:

Kyrii will check in at guard HQ to see if he's needed anywhere. But from there will seek out people who need help at targeted locations or run around the City on a kill-spree of the Null. It's really what he's made for and good at.

There's a solid chance he'll get the crap beat out of him at some point and he'll retreat to the clinic right up until it's destroyed. From there he'll keep running around in whatever state he's in. Probably not a death, but he'll be looking pretty rough by the end of all this.

He does have a small charge on his graviton beam emitter that can be used to take out a good sized horde, probably toward the end of the invasion when things are looking bad. Let me know if anyone wants to be around when it goes off!

Adam & Rhy

[personal profile] anoshe 2017-11-23 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
I haven't plotted much with either of my characters, but -

Adam will be at the clinic in the beginning, but once it's clear things are serious he'll be cutting and running to find Ronan. At that point, they'll stick together, and it sounds like they might be ending up at Fear's temple with Sharon. He'll be using his magic to protect the temple and his friends, and using his first aid supplies and skills to patch people up if they need it.

Rhy will be using his only special ability - not dying. He's got a sword and he's very difficult, if not impossible, to kill, so he'll be fighting. Mostly, he'll try to protect anyone who's in danger or can't fight, and help them get to something like safety. He'll jump in to help others who are fighting, too. He'll probably get injured a lot, but eh, nbd right?

Ikaruga

[personal profile] elegant_and_proud 2017-11-23 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
Ikaruga will be playing double agent. She's been planning on protecting Hope for a while and even went as far as killing Rydia (with Rydia's consent) in order to get access to the Null weapons. She will be hanging back rather than attacking, and will step in once Henry and Saber are killed to help protect Hope from Delight.

Once her true intentions are revealed, she'll be right in the midst of the Null attack around Hope's temple and they'll likely not be pleased with her treachery. I would love for her to team up with some people during all of this! She'll probably be focusing the bulk of her efforts on defending Hope just because his survival is essential to everyone else's survival, so the only times she might be seen elsewhere would be if she's getting food. She can help people while needed.

I don't intend to have her killed, but she's going to be exhausted and sore by the end of this, and may have some injuries depending on how things go.

Carlisle Longinmouth

[personal profile] tongueamok 2017-11-23 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
Since he's not on the list and absolutely not about to pick a fight with technology-based beings, Carlisle is on healing duty around the city as he's more or less ignored by the Null! He's likely to be separated from his alien husband, who is defending the Clinic, so he'll be wearing his enchanted cape and mostly be hiding in the guise of a bear-tiger monster native to his home. He's also going to be doing some repair work on folks, namely Kate and Rey.

If you want your character super battered but don't want them to die, hit me up! They can run into each other or something. Or if you just want your character to be baffled by the strangely non-aggressive monster beast, that works too!

Beth's Children

[personal profile] immanionorchid 2017-11-23 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Annabeth is sticking by Hope until someone makes her leave. This puts her on the hit list, but she's got her invisibility cap so she should be pretty good at hiding.

Cole is helping out with clinic stuff, but he's also available to transport small groups (no more than 2 plus him) to the safe zone since he can essentially make people ignore them for short bursts of time. He'll also be helping injured people at the hotsprings to forget about the pain as needed along with Love.

Cal is available to teleport people into Delmar's bunker as needed, or otherwise rescue people. He is already on the hit list so whatever. He can teleport an additional 2 people besides himself at a time, and teleport enemies one by one out of the way, but they will probably come back at some point.

James Tucker

[personal profile] nowherewolf 2017-11-23 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
Tucker is not on the Null's list, but most of his CR is or will be, oops! Anyway, back home he's a smuggler and a thief, so he's going to put his skills to use smuggling supplies from the clinic, or potentially ferrying messages and items wherever they need to go. He can mostly just walk past the Null, but he's stealthy and quick if a confrontation does arise.

If you need something delivered from point A to point B during the Nullpocalypse, Tucker might be your guy.

He won't even charge you for it! Cool!

Oscar

[personal profile] onlyanautomaton 2017-11-23 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
Once he realizes that the Null are ignoring him, Oscar will be using his not-on-the-hit-list status to his advantage for as long as possible. His main focus will be helping people out of the danger zones/evacuating people from those buildings and keeping tabs on everyone's location. If he becomes aware that any of his CR needs help, he will go to them right away. While he isn't an expert in first aid by any means he might be able to use bits of what he's learned if he finds someone in strife. He will escort anyone who's injured to safety. If he sees the Null closing in on any particular defenseless/injured person and no one else is there to cover them, Oscar will try to remove them from the situation; this might even involve him hatching a hasty plan to act as a diversion so the person can escape. If you want to arrange for something like this to happen, let me know!

Oscar will be interested in finding out whether there is a way to deactivate them since he'll believe that is their best solution for the time being. If he discovers their crowd-controlling weapons have no effect on him, then on top of knowing that their lasers don't affect him the same way they affect a living being, Oscar will want to help out in any plans involving disarming the Null as well.

Considering the Null's weapons and the swiftness of their attacks he probably won't want to risk driving a firetruck around to put out fires since he'll believe those efforts will be in vain, especially if he's alone, and will inadvertently endanger not just the Fire Brigade, but also the people who might decide to defend it. He might do it if the rest of the Fire Brigade are on board since he'll feel they need him, and that together they might have a slightly bigger chance of saving buildings, but he'll still advise against it. It looks like most of the Fire Brigade are going to be busy fighting the Null head-on, anyway, but I thought I'd mention it here just in case.

As you all now know, Henry will getting himself mortally wounded trying to defend Hope from Delight alongside Saber, but not before getting out the SOS you're all waiting for! After that's done he'll hang on just long enough to shield Hope until help arrives.

Sorry, Nick V., for leaving you in charge of the Guard.

He'll get revived, so people who want to kick his arse for dying please form a queue. I haven't finalised what the consequences of his revival will be yet, so that'll be a surprise. Nonetheless, he'll jump straight back into the fight against the Null.

... is dying with Henry, as the post says! Normally, she'd be almost impossible to kill, but being made of mana means the godkiller is super effective against her too. Whoops. She'll be seriously injured/drained by the initial shot from Delight, and will die using up her mana to make one final Excalibur blast--covering Henry long enough to make his SOS. Said blast will be visible in the background of the call as a good sign that shit just got realer.

Because she's being, uh, scattered into bits of energy, I plan on having her revival take longer: she'll unfortunately (for her) miss most/all of the fighting afterward and feel bad about it. Of course.

Curufin will be on the front lines for the whole event. He might get injured, but not badly enough to prevent him from fighting. Damn Elves have NO SENSE WHATEVER about these things!

He'll be battling the Null alongside his family and adopted family. And also, of course, he's a Guardsman too, so he'll be fighting alongside the Guard as well. And last but not least, his partner Yukari will switch sides and join Curufin.

Yukari will hand the god-killing weapon to Curufin so that the Elf can attempt to analyze it and test it on the Null. Heaven knows where that will lead! If any technical experts want to work on that with him, let me know!

FYI, the Firehouse will be opened as a refuge for Clinic staff and patients, and for others who need a place to go and can't get to Delight's temple or Love's hotsprings or the Unfinished Bakery (Delmar's and Seel's bunker). Since there is going to be much destruction and mayhem, the Hadrielites may need as many refuges as they can get!

There's a plurk up for firefighters or other Hadrielites who want to help get the Firehouse ready and/or run it as a refuge. Reply there or here, or plurk me at [plurk.com profile] tangyminx. Feel free to add me.

Yusuke Kitagawa

...will actually be absent for much of the event, because he'll be sneaking around as Fox, his thief alter ego, along with his fellow Phantom Thieves. They're going to resist the Null through more indirect means (stealth infiltration, sabotaging weaponry/equipment, hits on important targets) and it will take the Null a little longer to discover them, so they'll be taking advantage of the element of surprise. they'll never see it comiiiiiiiin ♪

That said, when their cover is blown and they get added to the Null hitlist, Yusuke will be more likely to help any characters who need protection. Yusuke's likely to get injured at some point, but it won't be anything serious enough for him to stop fighting.

So remember how I said things were gonna be low-key? HAHAHAHA. No.

Kate is gonna be everywhere, fighting, losing half her favourite people, and Really Not Taking This Well. On the bright side that means you'll have an incredibly pissed off and ruthless master of throwing knives and longbow user here to Wreck Shit, on the other... she's gonna end up both injuring herself and eventually overusing her powers to the extent that she passes out from exhaustion at the end and leaves herself without powers for the duration of December. :) That's fine, right?

I'm mostly going to tag out but I'm open to writing a couple of closed starters for people if you'd like!

Nothing

[personal profile] muchadoabout 2017-11-23 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
So, Nothing views all this as "just politics." Given that he hasn't said anything against the Null (because they sound like boring conversationalists), he'll be able to walk around the city with no issues until the monsters start coming back in. This could make him useful as some sort of supply runner, which he'll be happy to do. He won't be useful in any sort of fight, and he's unlikely to take a stand one way or the other.

At least until it comes out exactly what Delight has done, when he'll turn vocal about supporting her because as he sees it, she's the only god who's trying to help the populace. So that could start some fun arguments. Enjoy your new fanboy, Delight!

I will be kind of sparse during part of this plot as I'm traveling this weekend and preparing for a wedding, but I'll tag when I can.

Maketh Tua and Ephemera

[personal profile] requiemshark 2017-11-23 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
So, turns out the Null can hack neural implants! That means that even though Ephemera is on the hit list, he will get hacked and turned into a Null soldier for a time. Have...fun with that. Sound off if you want him to go after your characters. Eventually, Lup will be electrocuting him and ending those shenanigans, but there's plenty of time to for that nonsense to play out if you're interested!

Most of Maketh's action during this event will be limited to her close CR, but let me know if you want her for anything.

Eleven

[personal profile] theflea 2017-11-23 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Small plotting is small!

Eleven Is going to start by sitting this one out. I'm planning on having her freaked out and hiding until she sees how many people are getting hurt and worrying about all the kids on the Null's list.

If it's okay with the mods (like if they don't see it as being OP, ) El's gonna try and stop as many Null as she can in one go! Or at least hold them back as long as she can, giving people a chance to get away. I'm still considering the idea of having her killed or at least seriously harmed during this event!

Will Graham

Will is probably going to try and help as many people as he can!

He's already been hoarding food and supplies just in case and during this event, he's going to be trying to find scared or injured people and attempt to take them someplace safe.

So! If you need saving, Will can help with that!

At some point during the event, however, he's going to come across a dead/broken Null! He'll be tinkering with it and trying to a) find out how it works and b) if there is a way to make a cool weapon out of it.

Give me a shout if you're a fellow tinker-er and want to help him make cool shit from Null corpses!?
