YEAH I'd prefer he still had the Visitor during the Null attack, at least. But hey, this is a good opportunity for Atem to figure out he was the one who killed Yukari.

As for Atem escorting his dumb unconscious self: I think it's likely that since this battle is lasting quite a while, Michael will end up with different "bodyguards" different days. A couple of other people have already wanted in on it, so I figure I can work something out for that.
