Event Post: A Little Touchy-Feely

THE RUNDOWN

Hadriel can be a lonely place. Maybe there's no one here from the same place as you, maybe you had people who left. Maybe there are some here, but you're still missing a close friend, a parent, a lover. Whatever it is, there's no doubt you've spent at least a little time being lonely on these alien worlds. But hey, it's not too hard to ignore it, right? Continue on with your life as if it's not a big deal?

Sure, that's usually the case. But Love is turning things up a notch, and for a little while it'll be harder than ever to ignore those feelings of loneliness and stress. They'll feel overwhelming, distracting, impossible to ignore. You'll crave contact, contact of any kind, and at that first touch - well, you'll quickly find that the simple act of contact is enough to soothe all the stress you feel.

If that's the case, why not give in? Find a friend, get your hug supply refilled. Hold someone's hand. Wrestle in a totally non-sexual (well, maybe a little sexual) way. It'll make you feel better, Love promises.

THE DETAILS

This an opt-in event, which means that if you don't want your character to be affected, they won't be. Instead they can just have a bunch of awkward moments with friends offering hugs and other potentially unwanted physical contact - or, of course, they can hop on one of the boats and explore the world a little. Possibly being eaten by sea monsters is way easier than dealing with your desire for affection!

The effects of the event will run from September 20th-29th, though no one needs to be affected the entire time. And of course, though Love would prefer you counteract your loneliness and stress with lots of cuddles, any kind of physical contact will work. That includes hugs, hand-holding, adult activities that we definitely do not want any details about, and even more violent forms of contact. A punch in the face still counts as physical contact, after all, and all-out brawls will be just as effective at relieving your tension as a kiss on the cheek.

So get out there and work it all out! Everyone needs a little TLC (or a kick in the balls) sometimes.

So Rey has literally just got back in time for this event, so she'll be fair game. Normally she tries to opt out of Love stuff because she still and always will think Love is the worst, but I'm a sucker for fluff so she's gonna have to deal this time. Of course, she is not opposed to punching someone out of her bar in case they try to get handsy. How's that for some feel-goods?

Meanwhile Ravine is dead and can't feel shit.
Actually with the Door fragments in the city, I've figured that the chaos and insanity that they exude will probably have an adverse effect on her, as reapers of her world are bodiless and very susceptible to madness (which might turn them into demons as a result). She'll probably be teleported away from the city for a while to avoid all of that, so if anyone wants to come with her... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sal for the most part won't be affected by the event (unless I decide to have him be affected for a little tiny bit, Idk!) mostly because that whole pressing loneliness thing could incite some seriously dark thoughts in him and as much as I love terrible things I want to let him settle in a little first!

But while he's not overly affectionate he's totally willing to become some kind of hug dispenser if people need it. For those who are completely averse to touching but feel like they might go crazy Sal might...let you punch him in the arm, or something. Granted, he'll offer alternatives first like playing pattycake or thumb wrestling or games that require some form of contact but if someone is so against touching they won't do even that then sure, punch him in the arm or something but please be gentle he's a weakling and hates violence!!

Caedra

I'll be opting Caedra in for this event because, well, she's often ruled by her emotions anyway so she doesn't get much choice. Being stressed out and anxious about being in Hadriel and craving physical contact as a source of comfort are already generally how she takes this place, though - so I'm going to dial that up just a little bit. Her first reaction will be to seek out the couple of people she already likes touching and just see how much she can get away with smothering them. I apologize in advance!

But: for everyone else, she may or may not be more open to being touchy-feely depending on the scenario. She might decide toward the end of the week that since she's never killed someone with her bare hands instead of a weapon or magic, she wants to try and do that. If you definitely do want her to get violent with your character, let me know, but otherwise I'm going to have this event tone that down a notch for once.

I'm open to anyone and everyone meeting her during this, especially new folks who she didn't get to harass on the intro log! Feel free to hit me up on plurk at tinylongwing if you prefer, or this comment is good too!

I'm opting Oscar out so he won't be affected by the event, but I am totally down for people invading his personal space, whether it's existing CR or randoms he's never met. \o/

Ianchus

Ianchus will be 100% effected, and 100% ready to touchy feely. Considering "gets kind of lonely-->time to cuddle" is his usual state of mind, he'll be mostly like his old self, just...much much feelier. If anyone wants some super nice hugs/super nice massages pls go for him.

OVERALL he knows a looot of way to make someone happy with touch and that'll only go farther this event

I'll go ahead and opt Yukari in. But don't expect him to be the touchy-feely one. He's been there, done that, thanks to a doppelganger event. (Or, at least his double did, and he did not appreciate it in the slightest).

But I would love if some people would come harass the Hell out of him. He's scared of cuddles.

That being said, Yukari is a tsundere mercenary. So make sure you're up for him picking a fight with your character if you decide to so much as pet him. He won't fight to kill, though. He does have promises he needs to keep. And how much he wants to kick your character's ass will be dependent on how insistent your character is to make any manner of physical contact with him. He resorts to yelling quickly; expect zaps from his Green Aura (Electricity) to follow shortly afterwards.

Floki is Opting in! He's just come back from the three-week voyage out at sea and is in some need of letting his hair down and relaxing.

I'm totally up for some negative cr too if anyone wants to bother him like that as well!

Will is definitely going to be opting in! Look if anyone is in need of some comforting, it's Will okay. He's a terrible adoptive dad who feels mega guilty about Abigail all the time, he's missing his cannibal friend more than he'd like to admit. His lover from Hadriel left then came back with no memory of him and he'd just so full of his own and other people's emotions and feelings that he needs in on this even big time!

Negative cr is cool too but I'd rather have some happy stuff happen to him for once lol.

I think I'm gonna have her Opt out for this one. Though if there are any other children on the Islands that want to bro-out and hang with her she will be up for that. Yusuke will be opted in for this event! He's normally very aloof and distant, particularly with strangers, so now is as good a time as any for him to get closer to people. ... Emotionally and literally. Also he could probably use a hug after some of the stuff he's been through lately.

Jill Valentine

Jill will opt-in to this event! She was in Hadriel some time ago and has returned with no memories of her previous time here. Since her re-arrival, she's been keeping busy and spent most of her time away at sea with the crews looking for fragments.

Once she returns, however, she'll be without purpose again and the stress of being in a foreign world will start to get to her again. She could use a little luv! Open for discussion and plotting!

Edgar will so be affected by all of this haha. In canon it's shown that he's pretty bad with dealing being alone and the whole deserted event pushed his buttons in the wrong way and reminded how lonely he is so yeah.. he's touch/affection starved :( He's never been all by himself for this long before!

Which means he's even more keen to get into people's company than usually! Also definitely hugs and holding hands. He might even show up behind your window like classic vampire and sneak into get some cuddles?? It's both creepy and sweet.

Yukari can definitely do with some big-broing stuff. He needs more people to look up to. Or as close to looking-up-to as he can get.

Just, for the love of God, don't give him more physical affection than a pat on the head. Unless you want Yukari to fight him.

Daryl Dixon

I will be opting Daryl in, much to his dismay! I enjoy torturing him, I am a cruel player.

He's brand new to Hadriel and a total stick in the mud even in his own canon (particularly at the point I brought him in from), so come and do your worst! He'll be totally affected and just brooding in his own unhappiness but will be extremely hesitant to reach out himself; he'll probably be in a punching mood and lash out at any surprise physical attention, especially from strangers (and then just as likely be pretty apologetic about what he just did), but in the right situation he sure could use some gentle affection right now. Let's work something out!

I'm opting Leo in as he's touch-deprived and awkward and therefore needs to experience this. There's just one little thing about his powers that he just recently found out about that might cause a wrinkle. Romantic affection, like kissing or hugging someone he finds attractive, involuntarily sets off his powers. With good souls, this just means they glow white for a while like a glowstick. For sinful souls, that's bad, because he might accidentally take their souls by bringing them to the surface. So keep that in mind if you tag him.

Ianchus is one of the few people he kind of feels comfortable with around the islands so he's gonna be up for hugs.....or give him a massage because he's likely never had one in his life. Either way, he'll be happy to hug someone he knows he won't accidentally kill.

WHAT UP Y'ALL I'm here with a robot and a cynic let's get this party started!!

Mettaton first, because obviously he's the most outgoing of my two muses. Metta's actually pretty lonely like 100% of the time and he's had some old flames in Thisavrou that he's still KINDA...REALLY not over so anyone who comes near him is GONNA GET A HUG, A COMPLIMENT, A KISS...anything really goes! He's very tactile, so if we plot, let's talk about how your character would react and how comfortable you'd feel with the extent of it. Nothing suuuper inappropriate ofc, just that he's quite dramatic and likely to drape himself on someone.

Additionally, I'm very seriously considering having Mettaton make a very complimentary network post to spread positivity because that's also absolutely under the umbrella of love and he would super do it. He's done it before, and he'll do it AGAIN!

Jade on the other hand is not a fan of emoting. Therefore he's going to feel like the worst emotion for someone like him to feel, and it'll manifest in him attempting to mingle so as to take the edge off. I utterly welcome someone trying to get touchy with him for 2 big reasons:

1), because it'll satisfy that loneliness for a little while and that's good.

2), he'll probably want to experiment and push the boundaries of the effects of the event.

Whaaat this basically means is that he might even be convinced to do such scandalous things as smooch someone. Jade's pretty good at remaining objective but seriously that would be hilarious for him to try and explain away, esp if it escalates. Help me. I WANT TO DO SOMETHING HE MAY OR MAY NOT REGRET...

Lance will be opted in but at a low level, which means friends will get more hugs and general contact than usual but he's not going to be feeling it so strongly toward anyone else. That said, friendly affection from other people isn't bad! He might be a little startled but as long as it's genuinely friendly especially once he figures out what the event is it'll be all good.

Connor on the other hand is opted out for a variety of reasons ranging from 'touch is a whole thing for his species' to 'intense stress is super bad for deviant androids'. He's going to probably hide in the lab a lot, but anyone absolutely feels the need to hug him or something we can definitely plot that~
