Event OOC: Soulmates

THE RUNDOWN

Love needs to recharge, and fortunately for you, that means a week of blossoming relationships and laidback lovey-dovey crap (or friendships, love doesn't discriminate what kinds of relationships blossom under their hands!). That means that beginning on February 14th, your character will wake up with a tattoo they don't remember getting- the name of another character in Hadriel.

Was this a blackout drunk mistake? Nah, just some meddling from the gods! This tattoo is placed on the inside of everyone's wrist and upon seeing that person for the first time, you may feel a connection unlike anything else with that person. You want to spend all your time together, even if it's a complete stranger. Get to know them, make friends, maybe smooch a little if you're into that- you've gotta make the most of your time because in a few days, you may not feel the same way!

On February 22nd, all names will be erased. Characters will remember everything about their time, including how they felt and what they may have learned about their soulmates, but will not have any further feelings forced on them.

THE DETAILS

All soulmate bonds happen in pairs, where each person has the other person's name on their wrist. If you have no name on your wrist, then nobody has you! In addition, as we've mentioned, the bonds can be strictly platonic on both sides if you like, though the strength of the bond can vary from player to player.

Players can have multiple soulmates via swapping around- you can have as many pairs for your character as there are days in the event. All pairs are to be negotiated on a player-to-player basis as well: there will be no mod-assigned pairs. We encourage you guys to offer some soulmate action to our new characters, who might be wondering what the hell they've signed up for!

► February 20th: The names disappear for good and everything is back to normal

If anyone still doesn't have a soulmate for the event, Rosie is currently unattached and I'd love to get in on this. I don't mind platonic or romantic. I'm also honestly super interested in exploring the darker aspect of things. For her, it would be stuff like her insecurity, need to be "free" and feeling trapped, strange possessiveness and jealousy despite that, and so on!

Lady Maria is brand spanking new here! She kind of comes across as cold-hearted on account of her being so intense. She's a little naive when it comes to trust but when she does, she's loyal to a fault. So! Tossing a soulmate at her would be an awesome way to throw her in the deep end and break the newbie ice.

Will Graham; Has a few things plotted but I'm always up for more awkwardness with him!

Geralt of Rivia; Doesn't have much plotted atm so if anyone is interested in a Witcher soulmate just hit me up!

Allura is single and ready to mingle new and this event sounds like a lot of fun (and a good opportunity to kickstart some CR)! She is pretty serious but can get a bad case of the goo-goo eyes when she is infatuated. I'm mostly looking for lighthearted stuff and either platonic or romantic is fine, although she will be 100% embarrassed about any smooching going on if that happens.

So if there's anyone who wants a space princess girlfriend for a hot minute, let me know!

Rey's gay booty will likely be mostly platonic, but I don't really have much plans for her beyond Laura Palmer so she's open for a couple takers - and hate the fact that she's being messed with what is clearly Love's doing.

She might not be around too long since she'll probably peace out and go searching for bunkers before the event ends!

Oscar has three potential soulmates in the line-up, and I'd like him to have one more! The match would be completely platonic. Let me know if you have questions! This event will be one of the easiest ways possible for a character to get to know him on a BFF basis. New-ish characters welcome as well as old.

I'm canonblind to Voltron, but just from looking at Allura's app she and Lucretia share a LOT of flaws similarities and also have the same killer Look (TM). I think they could be awesome soulmates, either romantic or platonic!

Sora's brand new to the game but I'm super here for kickstarting CR and doing things with this event! He's pretty friendly and easygoing, so he's most likely to veer toward platonic and cute things? His priorities are his two best friends (one of whom isn't here) so while I'm okay with light romantic things, it'll mostly be lighthearted and probably Disney-esque things. Let him aggressively befriend you, I guess.

But he's easy enough to fluster, it's fine. So! I am open to one or multiple soulmates if anyone is so inclined!

Awesome! Margaery can regale her with tales of her three (dead) husbands and she'd love to hear all about where Allura is from. And we're equal, because I'm totally blind to Voltron, but Allura looks like an interesting character and I'm looking forward to Marg getting to know her!

I'm canonblind too (though I've been meaning to listen to the Adventure Zone for awhile now) but yes! I am digging the aesthetic tbh. I'm fine with platonic or romantic or maybe somewhere in between (platonic+beginning of a crush?)

(Fair warning, I should have mentioned in my initial post but Allura has some romantic baggage in the form of the last person she was romantically interested in turned out to be a murderer ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and that's pretty recent canon-past for her so she still has some bad feelings about that. So however you want to roll with it is fine with me, but romance will probably definitely involve more of... that mess. (and literally no pressure on the romantic/platonic choice, I'm equally on board with either!)

That's great! Allura's ex is also pretty not-alive anymore (...and a lot of other people she used to know, oops) so they will have a lot to bond over. I'm excited for their friendship!

Jon will spend the first couple of days of the event soothingly paired with his actual girlfriend. Isn’t that nice? They’ve only been official for about a month and a half.

But that’s only the first few (3ish?) days.

He'll have OTA prompts for platonic things the last few days. One is taken by Oscar, the others will be open open. Hang out with Handsome Beard Guy, the best pal you could hope to have!

Sansa needs to find her soulmate, however friends/platonic love are always welcome too. She makes great desserts and her dresses are usually quite soft for hugs?

Kain is going to have Rydia as a soulmate for part of the event. Other than that, he's WIDE OPEN for pairing up with others, too. Since he's very very likely to be all awkward about it after the fact, the more the merrier, even if it's someone he's never met. New CR is always welcome!

Riku is fresh meat that I would love to put into this event! He's a seventeen year-old and has two best friends (see Sora above) that he's devoted to, but I'm absolutely down for platonic or G-rated romance.

If you're feeling something platonic, Riku would probably be open for soulful heart-to-hearts and would protect/support your character with his life. For romance, Riku is shown to be awkward and unassuming when teased or flirted with in canon, so have fun flustering him if that's your thing. I'm open to pretty much anything!

So... Rydia Is going to have Will and Kain as soulmates for the event but I'm open to more of both genders, she has lots of love to give (platonic or romantic) and she isn't afraid to shower those she cares about with it. New crs are welcome, of course!

Leon on the other hand... I'd rather opt out the event for him and give the man no soulmate at all, if you're really interested in him I can give it a go for platonic soulmates only.

Steak is going to be out of the city during the event, so this is just a note that the beef is unavailable for soulmate shenanigans, sadly.

Kate (dedikated) is going to be in the city for the whole thing, however. I have a couple of things set up already but I'm totally up for basically giving her a new platonic soulmate every day, new or old CR more than welcome! If you want snark, excuses to go drinking, and probably a few bad ideas...
ALSO in fun power shenanigans, she has the power of a telepathic bond which attaches to whoever she feels emotionally closest to. I am entirely on board with having this event make it spark between her and your character while they're soulbonded if this interests you!

Hey there! I'm going to be MIA from the 14th to the 18th due to family circumstances, so fair warning: a lot of soulmate stuff with me might end up being backdated.

That said, I am super up for soulmates with Shiro.

I'd limit romantic soulmates to male characters 20+, because that is the range Shiro'd be dating in normally as well. Just beware, he's still freshly mourning the loss of a former long-time partner, so it might get a bit awkward.
