Event OOC: Predator Vs. Prey

THE RUNDOWN

Rage is- well, angry, and what better way to express her anger than by blowing up Fear's temple? Fear was the one who should have been protecting Delight, after all, and so he should suffer, right?

Well, that's Rage's idea, and on March 13th, Fear's temple will be exploding, sending shrapnel and flames spewing out of the general area, so you might want to watch out for that! As a ramification, intended or not, the city will be divided into Predator- or rather, Rage's faction- and Prey- belonging to Fear.

Both factions have their corresponding god blessings for the duration of the event:

► Predators: Will have Battle Ready, a boost to physical strength and stamina. Pain is numbed and reflexes are faster, putting the user in an adrenaline-fueled state ideal for fighting and tracking down their prey.
► Prey: Will have Fear Itself, a power to create minor illusions, generally of things that their target fears. Only the intended target of this power can see the illusion, but it could be enough to distract your predator long enough to make an escape!

The predators in this event will be seeking to kill their prey, and the prey can respond however they wish- by running, hiding, or even turning the tables and trying to kill their hunters first.

On March 21st, everything will go back to normal!

THE DETAILS

This is an opt-in event! Predators are only interested in hunting prey- those who opt-out of the event are not targets.

Characters can work in groups or alone, and those who opt-out can always participate as well, by helping anyone on either side to achieve their goals of murdering or- you know, not being murdered. The blessings will start off at full strength, but in the final 3 days of the event (March 19th-21st) they will begin to wind down, operating on less and less power as the energy from the explosion finally dissipates. All blessings will be gone at the end of the event.

Any deaths that happen as a result of this event will be revived by Hope shortly thereafter, and whether or not you want your character to still be affected post-revival (or if you'd like them to swap sides) is up to you!

Things to be aware of:
- literal GOD: tbf, he is a flower god so how tough can that be?
- energy shield: for any rough actors (snickers), you can go all out on this one, he's got an energy shield to protect him from all harm and when I say all that includes his feelings! Hurt his feelings, SHIELD! Scare him, SHIELD! Call out his current fad diet, GRENADE!
- Grenades: he's got a great arm and a few grenades up his sleeve~
- Soldier: Look, he knows how to defend himself! He's one tough cookie! With Sprinkles!

With that in mind, he's not so much a target as you might think /sailor moon pose/

Ivar Ragnarsson

So, surprising no one I'm sure, Ivar is going to be affected by Rage this event. (Hey, he already provides plenty of that emotion for her in his day-to-day life.) So the thing about Ivar is that while he's generally full of fury and anger at any given moment, he's usually held back from his desire to pillage, destroy, and kill everything around him because of his legs. The pain and stamina it takes to do battle wears him out pretty fast since he's in constant pain no matter what he does. So this god blessing is perfect for him, so he's just gonna turn into a Viking berserker. Someone remind him to sleep once in a while.

Anyone want to be killed or have their characters severely messed up? Or just have him destroy your home as a side effect of trying to hunt you down? Also kinda into the idea of him teaming up with other predators for some interesting CR.

Jo is on Fear's side for this even if she tends to think he's silly, so she'll be prey for the event.

I'm not above getting her killed if the chance arises, but she will definitely try to fight back if cornered. That's just how she rolls. Fear's blessing will get used a lot too, I'm sure.

Also, if there are other prey around, she'll protect them too...

I've been wanting an excuse for these two to meet, so how does a team up of rage-influenced hunting sound? Ivar's generally a fury-filled Viking warlord anyway, but even more so now. I dunno if he'll like Peter or consider him a nuisance, but does this sound like something you wanna do?

I think that sounds like a super fabulous idea! I don't think Peter will be too prone to his usual quips and bullshit while he's all roided up on Rage juice so he might be less annoying than usual? Real good at breaking shit, though.

Good good! Come, spider-person, he shall teach you how to pillage properly Norse-style. Ivar can regal him with tales of the times he's burned people alive and stuff for kicks.....yeah, he was pretty much the worst Norse king EVER. Good at being the leader of an army, bad at having actual empathy to rule properly.

Well, it could just be Ivar's terrifying him by hunting him down and it being a close call or injuring Shigeru or all the way up to killing him. Your choice!

So in a stroke of crazy happenstance, Alphys will be on Team Rage. Unfortunately for the city, when you get a brilliant engineer with access to tons of weapons people JUST KEEP GIVING HER, she builds deathbot 1.0 and will be using it to hunt people down. For characters who have been around since the last Null invasion, they're going to recognize the weapons from the Null arms and even one of the area disruptors she'll be placing somewhere centralized in the city. When she's not out and about in the murderzone, she'll be fortifying the lab as a base of operations in repairs and tracking for those on Team Fear. When this is over she will be ABSOLUTELY mortified and apologize profusely, but in the meantime... who wants to die by tiny lizard, huh

Meanwhile, Taako will be starting on Team Fear, because for once it's time for him to get hunted down. He's finally going to incur his very first death in Hadriel at the hands of one (1) Nathan Drake mid-event, and then come back on Team Rage very, very, very pissed. He's got a shitton of magic at his disposal, an already shaky morality, and trying to escape the trauma of getting axed by proving he's powerful enough to knock down anyone in his way.

So to that end if you wanna die/get maimed by either of mine, commiserate on Team Fear near the beginning, or just get into some GOOD OL FIGHTS, hit me up!! I'm really hype for this event so I wanna go hard :V

Don't really have any plans for Rey. She's been around for too damn long to put up with these shenanigans so she's gonna be all "too old for this shit" and peace out of the city while y'all are busy killing each other. If anyone who might have similar ideas would care to bump into her while she's out and about, I'd be down for stuff like that. Otherwise she's gonna be opted out and AFK entirely.
