Event OOC: Predator Vs. Prey

THE RUNDOWN

Rage is- well, angry, and what better way to express her anger than by blowing up Fear's temple? Fear was the one who should have been protecting Delight, after all, and so he should suffer, right?

Well, that's Rage's idea, and on March 13th, Fear's temple will be exploding, sending shrapnel and flames spewing out of the general area, so you might want to watch out for that! As a ramification, intended or not, the city will be divided into Predator- or rather, Rage's faction- and Prey- belonging to Fear.

Both factions have their corresponding god blessings for the duration of the event:

► Predators: Will have Battle Ready, a boost to physical strength and stamina. Pain is numbed and reflexes are faster, putting the user in an adrenaline-fueled state ideal for fighting and tracking down their prey.
► Prey: Will have Fear Itself, a power to create minor illusions, generally of things that their target fears. Only the intended target of this power can see the illusion, but it could be enough to distract your predator long enough to make an escape!

The predators in this event will be seeking to kill their prey, and the prey can respond however they wish- by running, hiding, or even turning the tables and trying to kill their hunters first.

On March 21st, everything will go back to normal!

THE DETAILS

This is an opt-in event! Predators are only interested in hunting prey- those who opt-out of the event are not targets.

Characters can work in groups or alone, and those who opt-out can always participate as well, by helping anyone on either side to achieve their goals of murdering or- you know, not being murdered. The blessings will start off at full strength, but in the final 3 days of the event (March 19th-21st) they will begin to wind down, operating on less and less power as the energy from the explosion finally dissipates. All blessings will be gone at the end of the event.

Any deaths that happen as a result of this event will be revived by Hope shortly thereafter, and whether or not you want your character to still be affected post-revival (or if you'd like them to swap sides) is up to you!

Ever wanted to kill him or at least make him suffer? Here's your chance, Hadriel.

Law's going Fear so he's an open target, so far I've only offered him to Nate to shoot but there's so much more that can happen. I don't plan to actually make him dead but he can be fucked up beyond all recognition, and repeatedly over the seven days, so come at him.

Fair warning that he's not going to completely panic and will fight back, but at lower power than usual in order to try to minimize conflict and escape rather than fully defeat any opponent, so please note his permissions post for his powers and fighting. Also, after day 1 of this he's going to remove his own heart and store it safely, so he'll be even weaker overall but also impossible to kill so long as no one finds his heart.

Basically I'd love to get him trashed, thrashed, and near-death as possible, so Knock-Out can have some fun patching him up.

Law will also be working in the clinic the whole time, even when injured himself, so very serious injuries, surgeries, etc, he's your man and we can plan that too. That is, if you specifically want this jerk exhausting himself sewing up your damaged kidneys.

Ignis | Julie | Poison | Mogget | Red Wine

Ignis, Julie, Poison and Red Wine are opt-in, depending on plotting.
Mogget is opt-out, but will be around being a pest and needling people.

I'm open for deaths inflicted on ANY... except for Mogget, who I'm not convinced can actually be killed.

Ignis will be falling under Fear, but will probably not be very afraid. He's used to having to defend himself and while he won't stoop to kill anyone if he doesn't have to he will do so in self-defence if pushed. Ignis is a highly adept fighter and would be a challenge for any 'predator' who homes in on him.

Julie will be falling under Rage. A good shout for her at the moment, and at first she'll have a time distinguishing the Rage feelings from her... general rage feelings right now. Julie has no particular skill in fighting if she doesn't have her hands on a weapon, but she does have an automatic rifle that Yusuke once gave her. Her ammo is limited, but in this event... she may end up using it. Easily overcome, if you have the skill, and aren't at the wrong end of her weapon.

Poison will be under Rage, but somewhat impotently since she's a very small eighteen year old girl with average physical strength for her size. Poison will rely on stealth and her small size to sneak up on prey, and she has a large hunting knife as well as two smaller daggers to make her kills with. She may try to pair up with a stronger 'predator' to make things easier, if anyone is up for that. More easy to talk down than Julie.

Red Wine will also be under Fear, but much like Ignis would be a hard one to take down. He would be more likely to focus on incapacitating his attackers rather than killing them, and he has the strength and reflexes to be able to do that without too much difficulty. Red Wine is also not human, and very hard to kill regardless.

Finally, Mogget, will be unaffected, but he will definitely be observing both sides of this with interest. He can be found needling both predator and prey, prodding at them to find out what their reactions will be. Because he's a jerk cat, and that's just how he rolls. However, if you need a timely distraction, he's also here for that.

Shigeru / Starscream

Shigeru is gonna be affected by fear for the event. He's a decent fighter, despite his fear, so he'll put up a fight at least. He might...be back at the clinic to help heal people but as of right now he's still avoiding people like the plague because of his stint with killing Maine. So good luck dragging his ass back to civilization?!

Starscream is definitely going to be rage. He's a pretty difficult person to fight and injure so if you want him to kill your dude hit me up and we can plot something out!

Lady Maria

Lady Maria is going to be affected by Rage for the event!

This is going to be very dangerous for the people of Hadrial, as Maria is something called a Vileblood and will be using two skills imparticular that are a pain in the ass;

Blood Frenzy:
The more Maria bleeds the more fierce she becomes. This is part of what being a Vileblood means. Using the Bloodtinge that she normal avoids, means that Maria is able to tap into her inner power. She self inflicts near fatal wounds on herself in order to make her bleed more profusely. Due to the nature of her heritage, when exposed, Vileblood can ignite in flames during battle.

Quickening:
Maria is able to disappear and reappear at short distances, in short bursts of shadow (Think of the Shunpo in Bleach?) When moving in this way, Maria is able to completely avoid attacks, instead, the attack simply goes through her as if she was a shadow. The downside of this technique is that she can be struck almost immediately once coming out of the quickening, however, due to her high dexterity it is very tricky to actually lay a hit on her.

I have plans that Spiderman will fight her but I'm still open for more battles! She will be raging around the City so feel free to bump into her anywhere!

As a side note: being a Vileblood means that Lady Maria is immortal and she cannot be killed, though she can be reduced to pulp and mush if that's what you want?

Geralt of Rivia

Geralt will be affected by Rage for the event!

He's going to be using all his Witcher skills to try and catch and kill his prey. This includes Witcher Signs that allow him to cast fire, a forcefield around himself that deals impact damage to those around him, a magic trap that appears as a circle and slows anything caught inside it down.

He also has Witcher potions, oils and bombs which can make his stronger, faster, see in the dark and make his blood toxic if ingested. His bombs spray silver shavings around that cause damage to non-humans.

I have plans for him to get trapped in the Silent Hill zone at some point, but if you want to be stalked or killer by Geralt just hit me up!

Will Graham

Will is going to be affected by Fear for this event!

I have already planned for him to die at Caedra's hands but until his death, Will is actually going to be hunting those affected by rage, in order to work out who is after who, where they are, what their skills are like and how dangerous they are.

He's also going to be helping people get out of populated places and find somewhere to hide. I'm open to having him get into fights prior to his death, so let me know if you want him around!

Aqua + Elena Fisher

Aqua is normally super nice, with a heart of bright light...buuuut she's gonna go Rage and is ready to fuck some shit up. She's an incredibly powerful mage, so she could definitely do some murders, but I'm 100% okay with finagling ways for people to get away without dying.

Elena will be affected by Fear to balance things out, but I'd rather she not die--but injury? Yeah I'm open to that.

I'm happy to go with either existing CR or kickstart something new!

Knock Out + Elizabeth + Stork

Knock Out is going to be unaffected and working at the Clinic for this event, playing doctor and probably guard (thank you, zappy stick and saws). He'll be taking some surgery patients over when Law works himself into unconsciousness. If you want your character to be patched up by a mech with questionable knowledge of human anatomy, hit me up. Alternatively, if you want to have your character attacking the Clinic and being repelled, we can def work something out!

Elizabeth is going to be affected by Fear because I'm terrible and I don't want to use up that emotion yet for canon update shenanigans later. She's going to be killed by Laura, but I'm open to having her previously hunted and/or injured before that point.

Stork is getting Rage and will be stalking everything in stealthy hunter mode (which is also basically the plot of episode 49 in its entirety) so if anyone would like a green guy coming out of nowhere and injuring/killing them, I got you fam.

Nathan Drake

Nathan Drake will experience RAGE this event.

For the duration his comparatively mild-mannered, wise-cracking ways will be swallowed by the kind of Nate that mercenaries actively fear while on the job. An already lucky guy who is miraculously incapable of dying in his world no matter what is thrown at him, his quick reaction time, adaptability, and proficiency for killing is going to undergo extreme enhancements with Battle Ready.

While his specialty tends to be causing explosive disasters that can be seen from a mile away, Nate is also skilled at ruthlessly dispatching through stealth, usually with his bare hands. A brawler, he uses brute force and environmental advantages when guns fail him. He'll go through his collection of bullets with more care than usual in order to make them all count.

A few people have already expressed an interest in being attacked and/or killed by Nate, but since I'm waiting for confirmation I'm still open to takers! Don't let the friendly face and the puns fool you. He is very, very dangerous.

Peter Parker the smaller

True to her murderhobo heart, Caedra is absolutely going Rage this event. She's already bloodthirsty and violent on your average day, but it's been quite a while since she's actually killed anything other than a host. That's about to change, however.

Currently she's got the following people signed up:

Will Graham, who will die.

Kettara, who will die.

Leon, who will die.

Pratt, who will - no actually Pratt's going to live, when Carlisle cuts in and throws up a barrier and Caedra gets bored and goes after one of the above targets instead, or someone else entirely.

It's a pretty full slate but if anyone else wants in I'm open to it!

Zack here is going to be affected by Fear!! Because shoes on the other foot for him now and such, har har. He'll mostly run, but he is pretty resilient and if backed into a corner, will actually fight back.

That said, he's pretty much open season, so if anyone wants to, I'm cool with him getting killed by someone!! Also alright for anything before that happens, whether it's him being used as a punching bag, getting heavily injured, and anything else in between! 8lb

Rydia, who is usually super nice and friendly, will be affected by Rage and be off hunting. I have a 'friendly meeting' planned with Kain but otherwise no other plans with her. She is a mage specialized in offensive magic, basically, and she can hit hard and from a good distance- while she's definitely in a disadvantage if her adversaries get too close and block her from completing her enchantments. Overall she works better in a team than alone and without eidolons she loses half of her offensive powers meaning she's not as threatening as she could be.

Leon will be under Fear... and he will die during the event. If anyone wants to hunt him in the meanwhile feel free to let me know. He's usually a skilled fighter but he's not going to take much advantage of that as he tries to run away and hide.
