THE RUNDOWN

In an attempt to try to learn from past events, Hope and Delight have taken a hard look at things that have been unpleasant for them - and everyone - in the past. After careful thought and discussion, they've come up with what is clearly a brilliant idea!

Taking a cue from Sharon's Silent Hill hijacking of the city, Hope and Delight will be running an mirrored version of that event. What does this mean? Well, from August 23rd-30th, the city will change into a brighter, happier version of itself at irregular intervals. Occasionally, upbeat music will play, marking Hadriel's transformation from its usual rundown self into something a little more cheerful.

Instead of fog rolling in, characters will notice a light fragrance of something flowery and instead of the walls peeling with blood and other demonic stuff, the ground will temporarily sprout lush, green grass and flowers, rainbows will appear near the cave ceiling, and everything- even the bad things- will take a brighter, happier tone. What a nice change!

THE DETAILS

After the music plays, the entire city will change for a little while. In addition to the cosmetic changes, there'll be more material ones - candy will pour out of the faucets instead of water and stores will be filled with pleasant things like coloring books, stuffed animals, and snuggies. Food shops will tend towards sweet treats, clothing shops will be full of bright colors and soft fabrics.

As for monsters, you'll be happy to know that those aren't a concern! However, each character will discover that, if they wander around the city, they'll find a certain animal that seems to like to come visit them. Think of them like familiars, Patronuses, or daemons - friendly and safe and something related to the character in question, whether through personality or something else. Like the Silent Hill monsters, they disappear when the city transforms back to its normal self.

So enjoy the changes! Stuff yourself with candy until you puke, find some glitter in one of the shops, be your own personal Disney Princess. For the week that the event is in effect, no one will have to worry about anything scary or dangerous. Hey, maybe things will stay like this for awhile! (They won't.)

THE OVERVIEW

► August 30th: In the evening, the city changes for one final time. When it changes back, the event is over.
