Firefighters' and Guardsman's emergency practice exercises

Attention, all players of characters who are in the City Guard or the Fire Brigade! Also, players who are interested in having a character join the Brigade, or the Guard.

Von and I agreed on a practice session post, and it is here. These two agencies will need to be on the same page if a real fire breaks out -- which is actually going to happen! -- see the September rundown.

In the Brigade and Guard practice session post, there are plenty of fun activities which will get our characters ready for what is coming. At least we REALLY HOPE IT DOES!

The Hadriel firefighters have a community site, which works similarly to those of the Guard and the Clinic, their sister emergency services. You can get information on the Fire Brigade site, and/or enroll your character to be a firefighter on our staff roster page. ICly, your character can also contact Curufin at his Hadriel IC inbox -- the link is on the signup page. If you want to talk to me (Haze, Curufin's player), contact me at tangyminx (feel free to add me), or PM me at so_dark_a_road, Curufin's journal.

In July, I posted an IC recruiting network post and an OOC info post, two other sources to go for information about the Fire Brigade. But if your character wants to be recruited in person, do as suggested in the paragraph above this one.

quick q, will there be an ic network callout when the fire happens? i'm asking because nick has just returned and one of her abilities is to literally make it rain, which sounds like it could be useful! so i'd like to her get involved in that but her arrival happened after the ic post about the practice, so she wouldn't really know the firefighters are a thing.

(also if you would like some info about the firefighters included in mello's newbie guide you can drop it in his ic inbox!)

Yes, there will be an IC network callout.

And yes, that might be a good idea, to have a rainmaker around! Maybe we could plot it so that the firefighters and others struggle with the blaze for three days and then Nick joins the effort on the last day, and between the lot of them, they manage to put our all the fires?

I just read Nick's list of powers in her Hadriel app -- she can cause rain within a 1-mile radius of herself?

And I'm guessing that the murdercave is probably something like 6 miles in diameter at its widest? -- or more? -- just a guess from considering the features on the locations map.

If that's the case, then Nick would have to move around to put out fires, kind of the way the firefighters will. She wouldn't be able to put them all out at once, so it doesn't so much matter how soon she enters the fray.

Btw, would she be interested in formally joining the Fire Brigade?

yeah, i put down that limitation because i don't want her to be too op :\ so yeah, the rain would move with her!

and i think she would like to join, as long as somekne asks her? she's not big on volunteering but is definitely trying to be doing more active good. c:

And Curufin will definitely ask her to join.

Anyway, to heck with that idea of her not coming into the action till the last day. There's plenty of fire for all! She can come in whenever you want her to. In fact, if she wants to post into Curufin's Fire Brigade net post, she's welcome to. He's asking for Brigade members and anybody else who is interested in helping.
