Event Post: Hopeful Future
THE RUNDOWN
The poll is over, the results are in, and it's a tie! Love and Delight tied for first place, because apparently everyone in Hadriel is already plenty confused on their own. In the event of a tie, Hope casts the deciding vote. Naturally, he chooses the one more likely to help him out: Delight. That means it's time for him to prepare for another god resurrection. The last one - Rage - wiped him out pretty well for a month or so, and he'd like to avoid that this time. What better way than to inspire a burst of hope from the inhabitants of Hadriel?
On the morning of March 14th, a small hand mirror will appear next to each resident of Hadriel. Upon looking in the mirror, they'll see a vision of their most hopeful future, the best outcome they could hope for for themselves and the ones they love. What a nice thing to do for everybody, right? Hope doesn't want his gifts to go unused, so they also carry a mild compulsion - for the duration of the event, anyone who sees a mirror (whether it's their own or someone else's) will want to look in it. This compulsion can be resisted, but don't you want to see a few happy scenes? Who cares if you're violating someone's privacy?
On March 18th, the compulsion ends, but the mirrors remain. You can still see that vision of your possible future in them, if you care to look. Do what you like with them - treasure it and look in it every day, hide it under your bed and only take a peek in your weaker moments, smash it to bits. They're all yours.
THE DETAILS
The only stipulation on what you see in the mirror is that it must be possible and it must be hopeful. No one living that the viewer knows for sure is dead, no suddenly growing wings in a world where that never happens, no seeing their family lying dead around them or seeing themselves fail miserably, etc. However, the one viewing it doesn't have to believe it's possible themselves - maybe they never thought their true love would look at them twice, maybe they never believed they'd get their dream job. Maybe they finally caught all 721 Pokemon. Nice!
If the viewer is dead in their world, they can still see a hopeful future, if a slightly different kind. They can see their ideal afterlife, if they're inclined that way - or they can see the ones they love and left behind having a perfect, if bittersweet, future. They can even see a version of a happy future in Hadriel, perhaps - but they'll see something.
The mirrors are no sturdier than normal ones, and can be smashed with no ill effects - except that Hope won't fix it if you break it. That was a gift. How rude.
THE OVERVIEW
► March 14th: A mirror appears next to everyone in the city, with a compulsion to look in them
► March 18th: The compulsion ends, the mirrors remain
QUESTIONS

What about Noah, who is in Gansey's world a ghost that he's hoping to bring back to life? He doesn't know for sure that this is possible, but he thinks it is, and also Noah has a living body here. Is this something he'd be able to see in the mirror or should I omit Noah from his vision?
Thank you!

In this case, Nolan is several thousand lightyears away from Earth on a damaged ship and probably doesn't have any fuel left? Assuming he did find a way back, it wouldn't be during Irisa's lifetime.

Cashmere!
She will be very curious/snoopy and look at as many peoples mirrors as she can get her hands on. She also won't have anything against sharing hers.
Emily
On the note of picking it up: if people in UD house want to handwave picking Em's mirror up without her finding out about it, let me know! I figure we can treat it like a butterfly effect in the game, where you may not mention it to her now, but if she says or does something later down the line that reminds your character of it, they might bring it up to her (either to mess with her or remind her that she's not as much of a dick as she likes to make herself out to be .. or something). Tbh she's likely to do the same so long as the compulsion is in effect.
Let me know if you want to thread out seeing her mirror. :3
cecily trevelyan
cecily the cynic's mirror-future will show the future of the inquisition, which includes all of her friends and companions still working together to improve thedas, generally, from their base in skyhold. none of her inner circle or advisors have left, everyone is happy, and there aren't any more holes in the sky or enormously Bad villains to defeat. in fact, the glowing, green mark on her hand is gone, too! in fact, instead of the anchor, she has a discrete, gold band on the ring finger of her left hand.
she won't be particularly disturbed if anyone sees this future, as it's more a pleasant vision than anything deeply personal. she will be regarding it with great scrutiny, though, because she expects everything and anything to go wrong when it comes to hadriel.
kate galloway.
She won't be peeking in people's mirrors unless she sees one lying around and picks one up. Neither will she be showing people hers. If anything, she's most likely to hold onto it
and probably lose itand keep it in her bag. If anyone does manage to see it, she'll likely just be awkward and make a grab to get it back.rey.
Her mirror will be depicting her happily with her brother, doing mundane things (eating together, playing video/card games, watching movies, hanging out, et cetera). Basically living a normal life she never had.
Additionally, there will be scenes with a freckled redheaded woman in the mirror, who Rey has intimate feelings towards. The mirror will show them living together, holding hands and being content. This will feel like an even bigger slap to the face, given Rey's sordid history with this woman.
Unless otherwise shown, she will be keeping to herself when it comes to other people's mirrors. She'll be spending most of her time drinking during this period, anyway.

Additionally, this woman will appear from time to time, sometimes wearing the flight suit of an Imperial TIE pilot, but sometimes dressed as a resistance fighter. She and Maketh are clearly intimate, though Maketh will struggle with trying to explain the relationship if anyone asks. (It's her ex, they parted on uncertain terms).
Maketh is going to have a lot of conflicting feelings about what the mirror shows her, though she is going to keep it in a safe place.

lili may not laugh, but she cant promise she wont tease)
lilith
They'll also, on occasion, be joined by a woman with blue tattoos that match Lilith's own. However, even if Axton's mentioned that she meets another Siren, Lilith doesn't know what Maya looks like-- the tattoos will always stay the same, but everything else about the woman's appearance will regularly fluctuate.
She's not going to be ESPECIALLY mortified about the mirror and she'll definitely keep it, but she might be a little embarrassed to show it off openly. (what do you mean she has feelings for Roland, what do you mean she'd rather hang out with some losers more over actually finding the vault?!??!?) As for looking into everyone else's mirrors, she already has a habit of picking up stuff that's lying around annnnd will probably not be great at controlling the compulsion, oops.
BIANCA
she's going to be devastated and spend the month trying gamely to drink herself into oblivion and picking fights.
