THE RUNDOWN

Keepsakes! Everybody loves keepsakes! Whether they're yours or someone else's, valuable or one-man's-trash type of scenario, they're always fun to find and share and treasure and destroy as you will. On October 15th, Hope and Delight's meddling with the Door means that you get all sorts of things you might recognize popping out all over the place in Hadriel! Something that reminds you of home, a picture of a loved one, a treasured teddy bear... or hey, something with bad memories attached. Or maybe something you don't really care about at all - or you didn't think you did.

Keepsakes can be objects from your character's home world and will show up in random places along the city. Just because a certain item is tied to you does not necessarily mean that it's going to show up at your feet- it could wind up at your neighbor's, or hanging from a tree in the orchard, or in Rage's Temple. Or maybe you just didn't get one... hope you weren't searching for too long!

THE DETAILS

Characters may have a total of two keepsakes enter the city, whether they find them or not. They should be something that has some sort of connection to the character, but that connection doesn't have to be a positive one! It could be something that makes them think of a bad time in their life or something they feel entirely neutral about. Small, unobtrusive, non-magical items (such as jewelry, a book, a letter, a CD) do not require mod permission and you're free to assume that they were brought in!

For large, valuable, dangerous, or magical items, we request that you fill out the form below, comment here and we will make decisions on a case-by-case basis. While we allow for two total keepsakes, we ask that each character only get one of these larger items. Thank you, and happy shopping!

Object Details: OK, I think it's much too large, but in an ideal fancy ass world, he'd get his giant fancy holo-computer thing: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, simply because 1) it's what he uses the most, 2) it'd be fun for spare parts and nice to have a giant-ass holographic computer console, but wouldn't really do much beyond that unless totally taken apart, which he wouldn't want to do...

In the realistic, "Jules that's fucking huge what's wrong with you," in the BG you can see he also has a shitton of old CRT monitor computers: 1, 2, 3. Why he's got either clunky but hella futuristic holograph nonsense or old, old ass clunky CRTS, IDK, but I guess it serves him right if the latter gets approved.

Chance with either of them they'd come with Pacific Rim related data? Like, numbers run for breach mechanics or xyz kaiju/breach models, or some of the Jaeger coding, or with the holo thing, Operation Pitfall... but as nice and sentimental as that would be, basic OS would be OK... if any variation of computer-tech-etc thing would be OK and not too much.

ETA: grammar to make it clear that with CRTs I'd still just be requesting one computer rather than all of them lol

Emily & Faith

Emily will be getting two items. First, her pink bag that she got on Rodeo, which she never did recover from the mountain. It contains her lacy underwear and will be found by Maketh if Fade's still up for it. Second, her custom kimono that she is supposed to wear for her twentieth birthday celebration. This will be found by Hannah.

Faith will also be getting two items. First, one of those multi-picture frames with pictures of her and her team from home. I'm up for someone finding this so hmu. Second, her favorite vibrator, which will be found by Hermann if that's still cool.

Uryuu will be getting two photographs. Easy, right? A framed photograph of his mother (which really ought to be on his father's desk). That is a terrible picture, so for some more reference, how she looked younger. Ichigo Kurosaki gets to find that.

BUT! You could be the lucky finder of something much more horrifying! This is Souken Ishida: 1, 2 (and crybaby uryuu), 3, 4. Yeah, Uryuu liked his grandpa a lot. Too bad, uh, the last time he saw a picture of him, was... well...

is back from the dead just in time for this!! will be getting:
a custom lab/doctor's jacket which is a light yellow instead of the usual white. This will end up in the clinic and maybe found by Hakkai if that's still a thing! Otherwise any clinic staff can find it.

And, secondly, she'll be getting an old stuffed elephant from her childhood. Totally up for grabs with this.

Matt
Is getting a signed football and a notebook filled with his mother's recipes. Both of these are up for grabs by anyone!

Because I am a cruel cruel SOUL, Sans will be receiving two important Things from his world. The first will be a notebook/album of his personal keeping. It contains a multitude of notes, scribblings, and assorted mathematical and anomaly-related varia, but the most important thing it will include will be a pair of photographs. This one and one that appears to be hand-drawn.

If you want to be the person to find this notebook, let me know! Sans will really wanna get his hands on it before anyone else from his world does, for a multitude of reasons.

The second item is a loose binder of research done by one Dr. W.D. Gaster. Now the man in question who wrote that research...doesn't really exist anymore, curiously enough. In fact, he never technically did. Almost all of his notes are written in that obnoxious Wingdings font - the ones that aren't purely mathematical equations, anyway - and, if read properly, turn out to contain a great deal of research regarding the CORE back home, the properties of negative space and non-existence, metaspatiotemporal desynchronization, and other such things.

Since the keyword up there is that the binder is "loose," the pages will be scattered throughout the city indiscriminately. If you want to discover one of these incomprehensible thingymaboopers, be my guest! Sans won't be too happy about it, but what can you do?

Cecily & Hannah

Cecily, with mod approval, will be getting an infamous Jar of Bees. It's exactly what it sounds like. A singular jar of bees. She'll also be getting a luscious red banner with the Inquisition's emblem to remind her of her duties and mission as Inquisitor, even outside of Thedas.

Hannah will be getting the scrawled journal, also known as Hannah's cave diary, also known as the horrible story of sadness and truth. She already knows about all this from Emily and Chris, but wouldn't it be so much worse to hear about your fate from your own handwriting?? She'll also be receiving the somewhat less disturbing music box, a gift from her brother Josh that plays the tune Frère Jacques. Nothing bad to see here!


I don't have anyone picking up any of these items yet and I am open to any volunteers. However, I would like for one of Hannah's cast members, someone who doesn't know about what happened to her, to find the journal. They are welcome to either give it back to her or burn it after discounting it as a prank from Fear. :')

Maketh Tua and Miriam Day

Maketh will be getting a stuffed lolth-cat from her childhood and, pending approval, a set of Mandalorian power armor that once belonged to her mother. Both are up for grabs.

Miriam will be getting a futuristic phone, which will be completely useless in Hadriel...except for the fact that it contains several videos of Miriam hanging out with her friends on Echo Six, as well as one with her mother. And because life isn't fair, she will also be getting a helmet worn by one of the Sons of Plunder who attacked her home. It's fairly high tech, with a heads up display, gps, encrypted radio, and....a whole lot of blood and brain matter on the inside. Whoops. Both objects are up for grabs if someone wants to find them.

I feel like Maketh has told Chris about lolth-cats at some point but I can't remember for sure; still, we could handwave that happened either way and he could find the plushie, if that sounds good. c: They still need to meet up and talk about why the Door seems intent on bringing everyone ever from his world anyway.

Chris will be getting Jack's journal, as well as one of Ashley's beanies. Perhaps on of the slightly less ridiculous ones, or maybe not. Either way he's totally wearing it.

No one has dibs on finding either of these, so I'm open for plotting! For those that don't know Until Dawn, Jack's journal is a journal filled with wendigo information, pictures, lore, etc. So anyone with familiarity with the wendigo event that happened in Hadriel, even if they've only heard about it, could probably recognize that the journal is probably meant for one of the UD kids. As far as Ashley's beanie goes, it might have a hand sewn tag or something to identify it, or a castmate could recognize it. c:

One item Warrick is getting for sure is his pair of star-patterned socks from Emma because of course he needs more reasons to miss his cute, muscled gf. He loves these socks so much, it's stupid.

The other item I'm torn on... I could go extra stupid and get him a pair of stupid sexy flanders lace stockings from a drawing done by the comic's artist where he's essentially wearing nothing but those to continue the socks theme, OR I could go with something his wicked self would really appreciate -- his grandfather's axe. Of course, he'll definitely be looking to damage some stuff, then...

Any thoughts or offers of finders for these are appreciated!!

Question: does the axe have any sort of marks that'd identify it as the Tin Man's? Like his name or something? Because Nick is fairly well-read (and the Fallout timeline technically diverges after the 1939 movie would have been made), and if it's got even a hint of tin on it or a name, he might be able to connect the dots to ask the green fellow he's seen on the network a time or two about it. He is a detective, after all.

(Yes, this is an excuse to have these two run into one another, but if it doesn't work, we can find some other excuse!)

Hakkai will be getting his journal that he had apparently been keeping on his Journey to the West which contains the misadventures of him and his comrades. (Most likely with a lot of snarky and negative comments about their behavior.)

And a pocket watch that his late sister/lover had given to him as a gift which was all he had left of her.

Wade's gonna be getting a wooden box made for him by Jesse Pinkman back in Haven, so if found plz return to Wade Wilson of Delight's Housing 1. It was made for his birthday and has a lot of sentimental value to him, so don't go doing anything heartless like chopping it up for firewood or something, okay?

The second thing he'll be getting is a child's sketchbook filled with hand-drawn pictures-- mostly of Wade, but there'll be a few familiar faces in there too. It belonged to a young girl named Clementine, who was in Hadriel very briefly earlier in the year.

sam will find any of things that can be found in his little keepsake box that he keeps hidden away in his room at the bunker. probably more likely to be pictures than anything because that's the subtle sort of thing that will get to him the most. 8D;

henry will find a plain, white sheet – why yes, the kind that would make a perfect toga – because that's the boring sort of thing that might lull him into a sense of monotony that might or might not have gotten stirred up when the dragons showed up. also a hand-crafted raven from the last raven day festival, the uglier, the better. because why not?

Because pictures are popular, Carlisle will be getting a leather, folding picture frame that's a bit like this one, except with pictures of his family. Two of the pictures are of his uncles, one of his father, and then the last one is of Carlisle himself when he was younger. Shadow is finding this! If anyone really wants to find something of his as an excuse to run into him during this event, I can think of another item for him. o7

As for Nick, he's maybe getting the original Detective Valentine's badge, as well as his case file on the Mysterious Stranger. I think the Alcohol Demon might be getting the badge, but the file is up for grabs!

Camille will be getting two items! The first will be a box of cake decorating tools, looking a bit old and well-used, something sort of like this. It contains food dyes, pastry bags, frosting tips and other baking essentials, as well as Camille's favorite spatula tucked in the bottom.

The second item will be a photo in a desktop frame of three people. One of them is clearly Camille in her mostly-human form; the other two people are her two siblings. One is ostensibly male and the other is ostensibly female, and both look sort-of-human with assorted extra random body parts.

I have no plans for either item, so if someone would like to find them, hit me up!

It's the one from his universe, the one Daniel Molloy wrote after interviewing Louis. so not the one anne rice wrote, this is getting confusing. fml Feel free for anyone to pick it up.
