The ghosts only take energy from their host, so their energy draining wouldn't affect the world around them otherwise! While more than one ghost is fine, the max would be two or three, and it wouldn't change the course of the event. Also, remember that all ghosts have to be of someone the character genuinely loved in some fashion!
