I'm bringing you Nothing (yep, his real name) from the Poppy Z. Brite novel Lost Souls. Nothing is a 15-year-old sweet stray puppy of a boy who also happens to be a low-powered vampire and an accidental edgelord. (He's definitely a potentially disturbing character who deals with sensitive issues and I want to ensure people are comfortable when playing with him, so please take a look at and fill out his permissions post here.) CW for underage sex, drug use/drinking, murder, blood-drinking, and incest, but his app is here. ...Yeah, he has some issues.

basically: genius orphan, trained to be a detective, flounced his program and joined up with the mafia instead on his quest to stop a serial killer. made a lot of bad life (and fashion) choices, blew himself up one time (thus the facial scarring), and he's been in hadriel for more than a year so he's actually made progress on being a less shitty person. despite his name he actually has very little chill.

Oh he definitely sounds interesting, and given that he wrote the newbie guide I'm betting Nothing will come around to pester him with questions. Yell on plurk away, please!

In comparison, Nothing's just your average suburban outcast who ran away from home as a teen, joined up with some nomadic vampires, realized he was one of them, lost his dad and godfather, and ended up leading the group. He is possibly the chillest person ever who never judges unless you've put him on edge. It's not impossible that they'd get along!

I have never actually read his canon, but it comes up as a footnote a lot in folklore studies, at least as pertains to modern vampire myth. So I think it's cool to actually get to play with him!

Also +1 on the great username.

Really, it does? That's awesome and kind of surprising as the book doesn't focus too much on vampiric folklore, but now that I think of it some modern vampires are pretty close to his type. If you ever want to read his canon, let me know!

Yeah I guess the book inspired more than a few modern authors, and it had an influence on the sort of "culture" surrounding vampires in general.

I can see that, especially the "culture" aspect given Brite's gift for writing about the IRL goth/punk/club scene at that time. Nothing's type of vampire is also very much a biological species living alongside humans, which has come up in other vampire versions since the book came out.
