Event Post: Party Royale

THE RUNDOWN

Rage and Delight are on their way back, and of course they need to have an event to celebrate their return! Sure, it might not be obvious that's what's going on at first, but that just adds to the fun, right? And haven't you wanted to splat your friends right in the butt with a paintball? Your time is now.

On September 22nd, everyone will wake up to find a paintball gun with a note attached that simply says be the last one standing. Picking up this gun, or touching it at all, will inspire a competitive spirit and desire to show these other losers that you're the very best! This urge can be ignored, of course, but why bother? This'll be fun!

Or so it seems. In fact, hitting anyone with a paintball from the gun will cause them to fall to the ground, completely unconscious. Whoops. No matter what you do, they won't wake up. And what's worse, after a few days all these unconscious bodies completely disappear! Well, shit. Maybe you'll give up at this point - or maybe you'll keep fighting, still seized with the desire to win.

However, unbeknownst to all the people still up and running around and shooting each other, everyone knocked unconscious will wake up inside the colosseum on September 26th, to find a big party waiting for them, courtesy of Delight! See, winning isn't so bad. After that day, anyone who is hit by a paintball will immediately wake up at the party, ready to have a good time (and maybe a little confused). On September 29th, the paintball portion of the event ends, but the party goes on for another day, and everyone gets a prize! Woo!

THE DETAILS

The paintball guns work the same as any paintball gun, except that the paint inside appears to be unlimited! You can use any, not just the one you got, but if you lose or break it - well, it's gone. Let's hope you can steal one from someone else. Maybe that guy you just downed?

But let's get to the important stuff: the party. Throughout the event, until the 29th, the colosseum will be impossible to enter - just like the caves outside the city, any attempt to get in will lead you back the way you came. But why would you be going in anyway? There's a whole city of people to shoot! The only way in is to get shot yourself.

After the 26th, all unconscious people will wake up inside the colosseum. Their clothes will be clean of any paint, though they may still have bruises and minor injuries they incurred during this rather rough battle royale. However, who cares when there's a party to enjoy? Inside the colosseum are tables full of food, drinks (alcoholic and not!), music, card games, other party games, and a nice dance floor - plus plenty of sparkling lights and decorations! Inside the walls of the colosseum can be found nicely outfitted but small rooms to sleep in, if the partying gets too much for you. While people can't leave, they'll be able to find most anything they need in the colosseum - and there will be notes here and there assuring people they'll be able to go home once the event is over.

On the 29th, it becomes possible for anyone outside to enter the colosseum - and a giant sign is posted outside that reads CONGRATULATIONS WINNERS. Also on that day, everyone receives a prize depending on how long they survived:

🗙 If you died on the 23rd: A small potted plant with your favorite flowers
🗙 If you died on the 24th: A box of delicious chocolates
🗙 If you died on the 25th: A bottle of your favorite kind of liquor
🗙 If you died on the 26th: A cool leather jacket in your favorite color
🗙 If you died on the 27th: An adorable animal kigurumi of the most appropriate animal
🗙 If you died on the 28th: A bottle full of Delight shots (info in this event post) and a trophy with your name on it
🗙 If you survived until the 29th, but did not participate: A new friend
🗙 If you survived until the 29th and did participate: WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER, you get a gun with two boxes of ammo and a trophy with your name on it

Participation doesn't actually require landing a shot on anyone else, but it does require an honest attempt to participate in the game and paintball the heck out of people. But, as you can see, even sitting it out 'til the end will get you a little prize! After the 29th, the party will go on for one more day so everyone can celebrate. It'll finally end on the 30th, and everyone can go home.

Still solidifying plans for Nick and Carlisle! Neither will be participating (Nick knows a bad idea when he sees one, and Carlisle barely even knows how to hold a gun), but if anyone wants to take some shots and them (and in Carlisle's case, maybe be temporarily compelled in a panic to stop shooting at him), let me know!

I'm still picking at his intro things, but PHILIP will last exactly one day of hiding things out passively, before the competition takes over.

He's decent enough with guns and even better at hiding from things that want to kill him. Most importantly though, he's got the huge advantage of a built-in radar aka. the ability to detect people in his vicinity. He'll do more hiding than shooting overall, but he will pick off somebody here and there and ultimately make it to the 27th where his glorious prize awaits.

If anyone wants dibs on shooting him, especially from very long distances or in a way too fast/strong/other ability for him to detect on time, then sign right up!

And, um. One more thing.

Being fairly new here Philip misses unlimited magical supply closets and also hasn't gotten the hang of neighbourly manners just yet, so he is liable to steal booze and cigarettes from unconscious people. Actually, think of it as him doing the community a service and saving them from their bad habits. You are welcome, Hadriel.

As mentioned in the CR meme, Law is a dirty damn cheater because of his haki. He can sense projectiles coming at him in order to dodge them, and he can sense where people are because life force. I've basically come to terms with the fact that he's going to make it to the end alive but he won't begin participating until it's clear that other people are way too into it and picking off everyone else (around the 26th). At that point it may be hard to even find people to shoot but eh, he'll at least be trying then.

Plot-wise, looking for two things: people who don't mind him finding them and examining their unconscious bodies to make sure they're not dying, and anyone who wants to take a shot at him and miss. The rest is all going to be party mingle so I'll hit folks up at random there. BUT if you do want to go out late in the game, he's available to be the shot that takes you out.

Neither of my ladies will actually be participating and I don't have any plans on them being taken out because of reasons. So:

Rey will probably be melting her own gun the second she sees it and the note. Too many Assassins event flashbacks and she won't want to have anything to do with that noise. Though I can't make ant promises for any actual non-paint violence on her part for anyone who goes after Nick or Maketh. She protective of dadbot and girlfriendo.

Ravine is a pacifist and wouldn't be enticed by the competitive edge anyway. Though, given that she doesn't sleep/have a home, idk how a paintball would manifest around her anyway, lol. She'll just be popcorn.gifing her way through the event rather than getting involved, as usual.

I'm open for stuff and things but don't have any solid plans. Gods can take their rubber ducky and shove it up their glowcloud.

OKAY I have most of my plans roughly nailed down so:

Michael is going to go down on the 23rd. He's being shot by Mello. He will not be shooting anyone, because he's going to hole up for the whole first day, and he sucks at guns. (The Visitor also sucks at guns bc bears don't use guns. Don't worry though, no murderghosts will happen, because neither of them see this as a legitimate threat to Michael's life.)

If you want to interact with his unconscious body (you weirdo), that's fine, just let me know first. He's got some incriminating material on his person and I might want to keep that under wraps for now.

Tucker Is going to survive until the end. He'll be teaming up with Kyna (they're going to cheat and use magic), and the two of them will stick together until Kyna gets taken out. Then Tucker's going to be lone-wolfing it in a paranoid haze until surprise, party time. He'll be mad but also relieved.

Tucker's going to take out Whistler, and he's also available for planning if you need your character shot on a specific day. You're also welcome to duel him, though I'm fine with that ending in a draw if you also want your character to continue. Tucker will view this in terms of survival, not victory, so he can and will make a tactical retreat when necessary.

Chris is a great shot and moderately competitive, so he'll probably take part in things at least until it becomes known that people are going comatose. So he's available to take people out if needed, but he's also not a master of dodging or anything and so if someone else wants to shoot him please do! I'd love for him to go out on the 26th or 27th, because either reward would be hilarious.

Lance actually knows what he's doing shockingly enough and is an excellent shot, so he'll be surviving until the end even though I was really tempted to give him a stupid leather jacket just because he has a canon set of diary entries about his adventures in buying one. It's exactly as stupid as it sounds. But he is ridiculously competitive even before the event's effects kick in, so he will definitely be participating even if he might otherwise be really concerned about the coma thing. Oops? He's also going to shoot Maketh, so double oops. But he's available for plotting otherwise!

Brennan is EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE so the event won't have to work hard to get her involved. She will be shooting Adam early on and Mello on the 24th.

She will be shot by Tatara on the 25th.

She will be okay with the first few... hours... of partying, but then probably retreat to a room. >:|

Her prize will be a bottle of fine scotch because I want to remind her of the bae or something idek man.

All of this will be handwaved because I am not having a great month, but lmk if you want Brennan to shoot your character before she gets taken down on the 25th!

mello is stupidly competitive and does know how to handle a gun but he's going down on the 24th, shot by brennan. (THANKS, NOT-MOM.) he's getting a nice box of chocolates though, and it's been a while since he's had chocolate so that will be nice. i'd also love to have him do some stupid party games in the colosseum with people because that is a hilarious visual c: mello's also gonna be shooting michael munroe on the 23rd and doing some cute target practice with sharon before he goes down but if you'd like to have him shoot ya before the 24th, hit me up!!

nick is just so tired, making it rain wore her out and she cares 0% about paintball or competing, so she will be unarmed and taken out by adam on the 22nd. she'll probably spend most of the party napping tbh but if you wanna do a thing with her at the party, it can be arranged! just let me know, here or at ventose.

Prussia/Gilbert will be winning! He might be a giant lazy idiot, but this is one of the awful things he excels at. He's the worst. Expect to be taken down with military precision. If you need someone to shoot you, he's your boy.

Raidou is good with a gun and fast as hell, so he'll be making it far, but not all the way. Probably either kigurumi or Destiny booze level. He'd be winning a black cat kigurumi, of course. I'm looking for someone to be the one to take him out!

Hayden doesn't really have any plans except to accidentally shoot his own teammate because he doesn't know what he's doing and probably run away a lot! He'll be shooting around like bonkers with a total lack of control when he's not hiding and generally teleporting away out of fear--but he can also accidentally teleport directly into the line of fire somewhere else in his quest to get away.

If anyone wants to shoot him or be shot by him, please come plot with me! If anyone does want to shoot him, I have a preference for the 24th and 27th so he can go sugar crazy on chocolate or expand his cute level by five thousand with a kigurumi. Like, I mean, honestly, he will never take it off.

Or if you want him to do what he does best and just bungle things up somehow I would also love for that to happen. He's really good at bungling. Like, super crazy good.

I'd like Kain to go down possibly early or in the middle-ish, still nailing down the exact date, possibly the 25th or 26th just because I'd like either of those prizes for him though the teddy bear is tempting, ngl. He's not good with guns at all, coming from a world without them, but he's a capable fighter and can jump and dodge pretty well.

Also, I'm all for Kain going down in an excitingly dramatic way! Possibly something more or less reflecting his Dissidia death, where he charges into a bunch of enemies knowing there's no way out. Hooray for suicide missions!

Alright, so, I'm happy to have him sniped virtually whenever, though this is dependent on when Kain wants to die, soo....

Abigail's a skilled hunter. She'll be able to track people and shoot them, if anyone wants to be shoot by her. She's also good at finding places to hide. She'll last until the end or near the end.

Ann is good at being sneaky thanks to being a Phantom Thief in her off-hours, so she'll actually do pretty well at avoiding getting taken out early on, but she can't keep that up forever. I'd like to have her go down on the 27th if possible (taking volunteers for anyone who wants to fire at her), and she definitely needs to find out that people who got taken out on the 24th got chocolate so she can be at least mildly jealous. She's pretty competitive under the right circumstances, and these definitely qualify, so she's available if anyone is still looking for someone to take their character out.

Curufin has combat skills galore! Including as a scout and a guerilla-fighter, so he'll skulk around looking for people to ambush.

So how can such a clever guy get killed??? But he will, either on the 26th, so he can swagger around later in his new back leather jacket, or on the 29th, so he can sport his 1911 Colt revolver. (He likes firearms.) Haven't decided yet. Open to people nailing him on either date, first come first serve.
