lmao it's okay! Evan's a relatively recent comics-only character, and the dude he's clone from has only appeared in one of the movies, so.

ANYWAY basically: en sabah nur, aka apocalypse, was an ancient egyptian mutant who wanted to take over the world in the name of mutantkind and subjugate all humans. NOT VERY NICE. this one time, he was cloned by mutants and raised from birth to eventually do the taking over the world thing. so anyway, the x-men's SERIOUS GRIMDARK SUPERHERO TEAM X-FORCE went to deal with this cloned apocalypse and found a literal fuckin child. while most of their team was busy arguing over whether they should kill a gradeschooler who technically hadn't done anything supervillain-y yet, one of them just straight-up shot the kid in the face. no more apocalypse, no more problem, end of story, right?

except everyone ended up kind of fucked up over killing a kid, and the guy who shot that other clone decided to try cloning apocalypse again to see what'd happen if he was raised to be a hero. AND THAT YOUNG MAN GREW UP TO BE ALBERT EINSTEIN EVAN SABAHNUR, who was Really Not Pleased when he found out that when all his classmates looked at him and saw a fuckin supervillain, there was a really good reason for it. accidentally taking over new york city this one time when he wasn't really in control of himself didn't help, and neither did going back in time to ancient egypt and finding out that en sabah nur actually used to be a really nice guy (because if a guy that nice can turn out evil, he's probably screwed, right). the possibility that he's not actually a good guy in the story of the world is a p. frequent concern for him.

anyway, all convoluted backstory aside, judging evan good or evil could be really interesting for that reason. i know nothing about yugioh, so if you don't mind telling me a little more about how the priests' abilities work, i can tell you what exactly they'd see re:evan.
