Curufin is on the hit list. If anybody wants to try to kill him, be welcome to try it. Not sure you'll succeed, but you might be able to wound him at least.

Otherwise, he'll be protecting other people who are on the list. If you want him to come and intercept a killer, let me know. He's a good bodyguard.
