Monthly Rundown: November Edition

It's been two full years of Hadriel, and we are so delighted to have all of you! After our Hadriel anniversary, things are going to be ramping up a little plot-wise, as you've already seen. So hold on tight and get ready for some excitement and changes!

As always, if you ever have any suggestions or feedback you'd like to offer us mods, remember you can always drop us a line here! Also, please remember to hit up the Current AC post if you have AC for the month! Characters accepted in October do not require AC proofs, but we do require a check-in on the post!

NOVEMBER PART 1: BREATHING ROOM

After that shocking message from the Null, everyone in Hadriel will have a little time to decide what to do. The gods have to figure out what to do about all this, so they won't be throwing anything new at the residents for the first part of month. That means you have a chance to... what? Kill a friend? Try to protect them? Warn the gods? Get super wasted? Whatever your natural response to a Null death list is, go for it! We've created a comment heading here for potential Null murder plotting specifically.

Then, on November 10th, the Door drops a handful of new arrivals into the cave. Accompanying them are a couple packs of velociraptors - specifically, the ones from the Jurassic Park movies, not the real-life far less terrifying dinosaurs.

Velociraptors are speedy, smart six foot tall dinosaurs. They've got wickedly sharp teeth and long, terrifying claws that can rip you right open. They also like hunting in packs, and they're plenty intelligent enough to hunt or ambush you. Watch your back! Then, on November 12th, we will have our bimonthly CR meme.

NOVEMBER PART 2: SQUAD GOALS

Something's up in the city, and the gods know it. In an attempt to promote unity and, you know, not killing each other, Love and Delight will team up! Starting on November 16th, you'll have a whole new group of best friends. Yes, that's right, it's time for new frontiers of friendship! You'll wake up that morning wanting nothing more than to spend time with your brand new squad. Chill with them at their work, wander the streets in a little gang, braid each other's hair, beat up your enemies together. It'll be so much fun!

Characters will be assigned to squads by the gods, and will feel a affectionate bond with each other full of friendly love. Even if you didn't know them before, you sure want to get to know them now! And if you didn't like them before, well... now they're that annoying friend who pisses you off a lot but still gets invited to all your parties, because that's how friendship works. Oh, and you'll all get matching jackets, because what squad doesn't have matching jackets? If there is a specific character you'd like yours to be in a squad with, please let us know here and we'll take it into account when assigning squads! Please keep in mind that the gods will be intending to bring together people who are not already friends. There will be an OOC post before the event with squad assignments and info.

These tight friend groups will break up on November 21st. Then, the next day, November 22nd, the Null will get in contact with the city again. Brace yourselves.

NOVEMBER PART 3: THE ATTACK

On November 25th, the Null will put their plan into action. Anyone who completed their task will receive a message telling them the time is now. At the location they were given, they will find a weapon capable of killing Hope. What happens after that is up to you - Hope is not difficult to coax into showing himself, but how well this attack works depends on how many people are involved and whether they can attack before Hope realizes what's going on.

Whether or not any player characters participate, Hope will be attacked - the damage done to him, the level and severity of it, depends on you. Shortly after that, the Null will attack as well, drilling and blasting through the tunnels. Fear teleports the city as quickly as he can, but more Null are waiting to ambush them in their next location. Though he uses the last of his energy to move the city again, it's not until after a large number of Null have made it through the tunnels.

The Null, on the loose within Hadriel, will be attempting to destroy all gods, all structures the gods have made, and any allies of the gods. It'll be up to you to stop them - or help them. The outcome of this, and of Hope's attempted assassination comes down to player participation. There will be more information, and plotting, in an OOC post closer to the start of the attack.

Probably should've brought this here sooner, but I wanted to hash things out IC and OOC first, so yeah.

From the looks of things, there are characters who are planning to fake deaths in order to get information from the Null, Rey included. Is there any avenue that we should coordinate these with you guys? Or is it all gonna be a straight up botched attempt at tricking the Null?

If a Hadrielite kills another for real, and the Null verify that it was a real death, and they tell the murderer where to find a god-killing weapon. . . . what if the murderer points it at the Null instead of at Hope?

Will these weapons kill the Null? Or can they be modified to do so? -- there is a lot of technical expertise in the Hadriel population.

NULL MURDER PLOTTING

WELP since he shot his mouth off and unwittingly took a lead in this race...

This is like. Carbon copy of canon for Law. Doflamingo put him on a hit in Dressrosa. Since it's pretty much exactly what happened to him before, he's not letting it happen again.

He will absolutely protect anyone on the list, as well as Hope. I may be too busy to do anything OOCly as far as organization so he won't make any attempt to be a leader or team organizer or anything - he'll cooperate with anyone who asks him to help but otherwise he'll be a rogue element of deadly protectiveness.

Alternately, anyone who wants to try to take him down, well. He's extremely overpowered and hard to kill. I'd welcome attempts but I'm not interested in actually getting him killed so it would have to be ICly possible to even be considered.

His permissions post details his ability and all the things he can do. If anyone wants to have their heart taken, their body amputated into puzzle pieces, or anything else as a means of stopping them from killing others, let me know there. Or here.

Cal

Cal is on the hit list! Whoops 8D

So between pissing off the Null the last time and hearing from them now, he actually got a canon update and some shiny new teleporting abilities that he can use for himself or on other people. He can't move more than two additional people (beside himself) at once, but they do make it rather easy to escape.

Basically I've got two different categories for plotting:

1. Helping
Cal is certainly willing to help move people around the city to escape potential murderers, but the aforementioned restrictions apply--he can only take two more people beside himself at once and that takes quite a bit of concentration. He'll probably be going until he falls over, though so if you'd like to do something with that let me know.

2. Attacking
I am definitely down for Cal getting attacked, but he is now really good at nope-ing right the fuck out. If you think you can catch and attack him, I'm down for it, but it will definitely take some doing. If you do catch him I'm down for injuries or even death if you think your character can manage it.

ADDITIONALLY he can use his teleport-y powers to move attackers around, but again not more than one at a time and he does have to get a hit with his new shiny sword. He'll probably be in a bit of a hurry so it'll likely just end up getting popped somewhere else in the city at random, so if you'd like to experience random teleportation I'm down for that too.

I can offer Hux to murder someone. He honestly doesn't about the Null but he really dislikes the gods and getting the chance to murder helps him have something to do.

He hates hand to hand fighting but he has a blaster and is willing to just shoot someone without so much as blinking. He destroyed five planets, this is nothing.

Rey is not openly opposing the Null, but she's not actively siding with them, either! She's played this whole "working/fighting with synthetics" song and dance before and more or less gets the way the Null think, even more so after her helpful conversation with Tranquility about them.

While she will without a doubt be all against harming those that she cares for/the kids on that list, she does intend on trying to take advantage of certain character abilities that she knows about to either fake a death or recreate a corpse in order to try and trick the Null. This may or may not work in her favor, but she plans on trying nevertheless.

I have a few people in mind, but anyone open to letting their character corroborate with Rey over trying to figure out a ruse to get more information from the Null, I'm open for anything. She's pretty good at espionage and intelligence gathering, so this is kinda more or less her element. Volunteers and plotting is welcome!

P.S. Anyone who tries to harm Ellie, though, will literally get burned.

Alphys + Taako

ALPHYS GOT PUT ON THE HELL LIST and tbh she will also panic at top speed of even being on this thing? She's easily the weakest person listed and very very much not a combatant, so honestly, someone send distinct help.

I would be more than happy to have someone actually come try to fight her though, like, I'm not opposed to discussing this? Though she's made a lot of very powerful friends around here and revenge-murder is incredibly likely.

Taako is also about to be put on there for mouthing off, since his sister also got blocked and uh hdu honestly. He's MUCH more powerful and not above killing someone who goes after his life, so he will be MUCH MORE DIFFICULT but probably not willing to protect people he doesn't already know. If they've talked before, though, hit him up! He might actually be useful (especially since he can create pocket dimensions lol).

I'm totally up for Kate getting some assassins on her tail, being that she was on the list from the beginning. She'll definitely fight back since she has no plans of dying any time soon and probably use her powers if you're okay with it / it's necessary. Or people trying to help her dumb ass. Potato, potato.

Prussia/Gilbert isn't afraid of any of you! He's pretty sure he can handle anyone who comes after him. He... kinda can. Sure, if people come at him straight on, he can fight them. But he's also dumb as a post so he could probably end up getting tricked pretty easily. I'm up for any plans for this - hiding, murder, whatever.

Ed and Raidou won't be murdering folks. Raidou will actively help protect anyone who needs it, and be damn good at it too.

PERCY

Percy has probably gotten himself on the list, let's be real.

He's going to be doing his damndest to protect folks and this may or may not involve the lake/river.

I may have him sleep in the lake, because he's a weirdo and it's where he knows he's the best defended. He can bring folks underwater with him but only as long as he's awake to do so.

I would prefer Percy not get killed this time, but I'm down for fights! He's... Ridiculous though.

Brennan is a helper who wants to help!! Especially the kids. But she's willing to help anyone on the list. She has a gun (thanks, Lance!) and she can fight (thanks, canon!) and she is very strongly opposed to murder and genocide. So.

Poison? A knife in the back? Malkus isn’t so stupid as to run headfirst at anyone, but if anyone would like to be poisoned over tea and canned fruit cocktail, you know who to come to! Mr Iverwelling doesn’t have much of a soul when it comes to murder, if the prize is anything he sees as getting him closer to leaving.

Rydia will only be around for the first part of the event because she'll die at some point, until then she'll do her best to help those who need protection- especially the kids.

Lady Ikaruga and Rydia will cooperate during this event: one of them is on the list, the other isn't, one of them is the ticket for the other to get the Null's favor. Rydia will personally asked Ikagura to kill her in order to give the oher woman access to the 'weapon'. It's not going to be a good memory for her in the future, nope, but she will fall hoping to wake up again with Hope's help.

In the end it'll be a respectful agreement between two determined ladies who want to help the others.

If you want to do anything together (fight, ask for help, whatever) I'm avaiable to toss her around, she's a good black mage talented in attacking monster and enemies fro ranged distance but if she is alone she can be easily overpowered by fast people with high physical strenght.

Seel and Will Solace

Seel's pissed off a bunch of people! If anyone wants to take (another) shot at him, let me know. He's got some abilities and a few bullets to defend himself, so let's chat. Some of the time he'll probably be teleporting around with Cal, but not all of it. So he's up for hiding or murder or anything in between!

Will Solace is probably going to be found somewhere inside a wall of demigods.If you want to plot with him, let me know, since it may involve getting through other people!

DUCK

although he can shoot a gun, run like an energetic pre-teen and sort of throw a punch, he's noooot exactly the... fighting, hard to kill type by himself.

SO i'm totally here for anyone wanting and trying to kill him, AND anyone who wants to protect the child from murder!! as i say, he can use a gun, but he knows he's better off with others

Cashmere

Cashmere would prefer not to kill anyone, but would like it to appear that she has made an effort to do so. So if anyone wants to be a sneak with her, lemme know

Delmar and Seel are going to be building a hideout underneath the unfinished bakery for anyone who might want their characters to hide / get to safety / whatever needs have you for a hide out.

Delmar is also available for being a helper. He does have a gun from that paintball event and he does surprisingly know how to use it, but he'd rather not if it can be avoided. But if it is needed, he will protect people.

Rosen Is available for helping! Rosen is carrying syringes full of paralysis inducing chemicals on his person (he always does, you probably just didn't know about it)

Whistler Is also available for helping! He's got no weapons but he can handle a minor scuffle. Or he can take his first death depending on the scenario.

Matt Murdock

So please come for him. Please. While I'd rather not have him successfully murdered, he's gone way too long since he's been beaten up within an inch of his life. He's overdue for it, honestly.

Heyooooo I know I've been a little absent this month but next month I'll be back in business. Anyway:

Michael has been kind of quiet on the Null front thus far, and he's going to stay that way. That doesn't mean he's not getting involved, however. I'm not going to do this if no one wants to (obviously) but Michael would kind of like to take out two birds with one stone; if there are any murderers on the list, he may choose to target them. If he manages to turn in evidence of a successful kill to the Null, he'd be using the information about the god killer to protect the gods rather than harm them.

And so help you god if you hurt someone he gives a shit about.

Tucker might try to publicly out some of the stauncher Null supporters he's encountered, possibly through an anonymous network post. Just kind of a "hey be on the lookout for these guys" directed to the people on the hit list. Other than that, he'll just be making sure his closer cr doesn't do anything too stupid/die, and he'd probably defend kids if he didn't think anyone else was on the task.

Both of mine are targets. Luke already allied with Curufin and once Kate discovers the Null she will revert to machine fighting mode. And she has a plasma gun to boot if it's effective.
