Boy, how time flies! Hey all, I'm Lauren and I've been out of the DWRP scene for a few years, but recently got the desire to return thanks to this gal.



I'm the DM of a DnD 5e game and I created a few NPCs that I truly love and yet that my players rarely, if ever, get to interact with. So I thought hey, why not go back to my RP roots?

Caedra here is a demon, coming straight here from her home in the Abyss. She's the grandmother of a tiefling former-PC in our game and she's really just a sweet lady who means no harm to anyone. I swear. Demons are really fun and friendly, you guys.

Nice to meet you! I'm Kara, and I have Seel har Parasiel from the Wraeththu books, Will Solace from the Percy Jackson books and now Kelson Haldane from the Deryni books.

Kelson may flip out a little about the demon thing but once/if he gets over it he could use the friend! And a grandmotherly/motherly influence considering his own spends her time praying for his soul :/.

Hey! I am not familiar with any of those but I am always down for anyone and anything because man. Has it been a long time. I'm looking forward to seeing how Caedra ends up taking this whole thing because wow so many mortals why can't I eat all these souls??

But no, despite DnD demons being literally an embodiment of monstrous and horrific evil, even they have social needs and it never hurts to have a few friends/allies/people who won't immediately try to backstab you. She was human once but doesn't really have many memories left of that so a lot of this will be new to her, and I can't wait!

Anyway yes looking forward to learning more about your characters, thanks for the plurk add also!

No but really, I think they could have interesting conversations. Edgar's not going know how to react to her being a demon. He has complicated feelings about the subject because Christianity is kind of scary?? And he's not sure if vampires are demons or??

Caedra doesn't technically count as undead, demons are their own special brand of evil, but certainly post-mortal in her case! Demons are actually a very specific thing in DnD worlds and it will probably be confusing to her when she learns that's not how it is with everyone. Which is good. She's got a lot to learn.

And yeah it sounds like there's a handful of folks around who will be curious for religious reasons, meanwhile she's going to be like lol what's a christ?

Oh dear. :D That's certainly going to be a good conversation. How open Caedra is about being demon?

No worries about not knowing the lore since it does change from setting to setting anyway, so tbh most people who play the game all put their own spins on it. But yeah clearly they have some things in common!

As for how open she is, I'd say not very, or at least she likely won't be at first. The only thing visibly 'off' about her is the solid black eyes but she can temporarily change that to look more human and likely will be doing that until she's had a chance to scope out the people and the place. But I mean, she's not going to just lie/hide what she is forever because that's no fun and it's not like she's likely to see any point in it once she realizes she'll be stuck here a while. There should be some fun conversations to be had, haha.

Well luckily (?) for Jo, Caedra is more the sort of demon who will confirm her biases rather than subvert them, as she is well and truly awful and literally cannot be a good person unless she's benefiting from acting that way somehow. I have no doubts she will be trouble and people like Jo may be needed to help keep her in line when she's lost all patience with you squishy mortal types that would have such delicious souls were she allowed to eat them here.

So there's that.

I mean she doesn't need them. She doesn't need to eat anything. They're just really tasty and she can use them to be even stronger with enough of them over time. When she's not just hoarding them for currency, anyway.
