+1 Brooding King in the North and all-around Medieval Hero
Hi, everyone! My name is Elizabeth and I'm super excited to be bringing in Aegon Targaryen Jon Snow from a little-known TV show called Game of Thrones that absolutely nobody watches! I also incorporate as much material as I can from the equally obscure books that the series is based on, A Song of Ice and Fire.
Jon is one of the protagonists of the show. He's a super kind, honorable, somewhat angsty guy who's been through a lot, including war, the death or scattering of much of his family, his own murder and resurrection, and the knowledge that he's soon going to have to confront a huge army of ice zombies that can't be killed with conventional weapons. He has no idea whatsoever that he has the best existing claim on the titular Iron Throne (he was deposed from it before he was even born), and has recently been made king of the separatist neighboring kingdom where he was raised as his uncle's "bastard son" for his own protection. ("The North" is more or less fantasy medieval Northern England and Scotland.)
Game of Thrones is pretty convoluted, so if you want to know more, here's his app. He's coming from the end of 7x02, when he's left his "half-sister" Sansa to run his kingdom as he goes to seek an alliance with Daenerys. Jon is a capable fighter and will probably be interested in joining the Guard.
I already know a lot of people here (HELLO FRIENDS!), but if we don't know each other, you can add me on Plurk at
detectivefiction and/or Discord at detectivefiction#1669.
Also, a quick note: while Jon is a genuinely good person, even he has killed something like 50+ people (mostly in combat, but also a few executions), and his tags will typically sometimes have some violent or potentially squicky references. I have a post where you can talk to me about your comfort levels with the canon if you want to.

Can't wait to play with you!

(I have read Wraeththu, but so long ago that I remember basically nothing.)
Anyway, nice to meet you, Kara!

I'm so surprised you've actually read the Wraeththu books! Even if you remember nothing!
Kelson's books are old, the first one was written back in 1970, pretty much the first historical fantasy series written. LOL Hardly anyone has heard of them. But I certainly do hope they hit it off! Kelson could use a friend who understands.

Kelson's books are Katherine Kerr, right? I remember them being on the list of things I meant to get around to, but that list is always like 1000 miles long and tends to sit abandoned on the sidelines. It'll be fun to write Jon meeting other Fantasy Prince Guys, though!

And so close! Katherine Kurtz, I can't remember what Katherine Kerr wrote but I think I read her too :D I'm only a little familiar with GoT, likewise my reading list is long! But from those who have read both I'm told that Kelson's books are a spiritual descendant of ASOIAF.
It will be fun to see how they react to each other. I'd warn that Kelson tends to whine but he might be in good company with Jon's brooding.

I play Oscar from the latest instalment of the adventure game series Syberia, which is almost as obscure as GoT. Almost.

I knew you were here but I didn't remember your journal name! I've totally played the first little bit of Syberia but not really deep enough to get into the plot. (I think the part where you navigate the hotel you're staying in when you first arrive? IDK, I should get more into it again -- which is something I think pretty much every time I see you talking about it.)
anyway yay! ♥ it's so cool to share a game again!

Have you played Grim Fandango yet, though.Yessss, play them so you can be like me (or at the very least so you can kill some time in a very chill way). I've only seen clips of GoT and should probably get around to watching it one of these days.

I restarted it and then got stalled AGAIN on the pump/power line puzzle, thereby making it even LESS far than I did the first time.no subject

(I'll whitetext it: It's that thing in ADWD where Jon thinks that he's gotten used to burning the bodies of dead babies but he's still not cool with burning live ones. Oh, ASOIAF, never change.)
