Event Post: A Hope for the Future
THE RUNDOWN
Welcome to the restoration! As thanks for bringing back all those orbs, Hope is finally here to fix your broken and crappy city. How nice of him!
As mentioned before, there will be a mild earthquake on April 14th. Instead of ruining things further, this earthquake will levitate the rubble in the streets, placing it back in its proper place. Shattered glass in all of the windows become restored, and destroyed buildings just vanish entirely from view. In their stead is a new housing complex!
While maps for these homes will come soon, these Hope-inspired, Love-created homes will be a bit more cozy than the other houses around the city, with 1-2 bedrooms, bunkbed options, and even studio home variety! These homes will all be warmly furnished with cushy chairs, soft beds, and mirrors on the ceiling.
Wait- scratch that last part.
Anyway, while all the city is being repaired, the more astute citizens of Hadriel may realize that you have electricity again! Turn on your lights and they're right there, check out the moped lot to finally recharge that dead battery, and enjoy your ability to finally read a book after dark without burning yourself on your candle!
And finally, all the monsters find themselves being mysteriously pushed out of the city! After the 14th, there will be no more monsters from the bestiary lurking around dark corners and alleyways, waiting to pounce! Of course, they'll still be out there just past the city limits, and the ones who come in with the newbies might take a swipe at everyone on their way out, but overall the city is much safer to wander around in now. Yay!
At the very end of everything, as his way of saying thanks, Hope will also put out a big feast! This banquet happens on April 19th, and will consist of the favorite foods of everyone in the city! Even if your favorite food is a bit strange, you'll find it at the banquet table! Just, uh, be sure to fully investigate all the food before consuming it, as we have a couple of undead here in the city.
THE DETAILS
The earthquake which fixes the city happens on the 14th. During this time is when the electricity also turns back on, though some of the outermost houses may take a little longer to fully power on. The monsters will slowly vacate the city within the course of the next few days, as Hope grows stronger to push them out. During this time, your characters may also notice the shops becoming stocked with far more palatable food and drink, while Hope takes over in that regard as well.
The feast will last throughout the day on the 19th, and any type of food that you can imagine is an option, as long as it isn't currently alive. This means that blood for the vampires, brains for the zombies, and- whatever it is that you weird void demon things eat- it'll be provided and plated in a way that would make Gordon Ramsay tear up.
More blueprints and map updates for the housing will be updated on the map and on the housing page within the next week and will be ripe for moving in!
