Monthly Rundown: May Edition

Happy May! Thanks to your contributions, Sorrow is now alive- we're sure you missed him! He's back just in time for Hadriel to get moving again- and wherever it ends up is up to you!

MAY PART 1: I WISH I WAS HOME

Like many other months in Hadriel, on May 10th, the Door will open and bring along new folks as well as your friendly neighborhood monsters! The flavor of this particular month is Flying Monkeys from The Wizard of Oz and affiliated tales!

These monkeys have powerful wings, strong enough that they can carry a fully grown human with them as they vault away. They attack with crude weapons- spears, knives- and can dive at folks in order to try and cart them off for their various nefarious purposes.

In general, if you get kidnapped and floated away, these "nefarious purposes" probably amount to sticking you a few times with their spears, and it will be very unpleasant. So don't let that happen!

MAY PART 2: SENSES FAIL

It's been awhile since Fear has terrorized the population, and for good reason- he's, kind of, I guess, a good guy now? Maybe? But either way, a god's gotta eat (so that he can garner enough power to transport everyone and continue outrunning the genocidal race of machines hot on their tail...), so he's back at it again, to torment everyone and make you feel genuine fear.

This time, he's mixing it up by taking something from you- something you value very dearly. From May 14th-May 20th, your character will be missing something vital to their person: a sense, a limb, a power that they use every day. Blindness, deafness, muteness will rock through the citizens of Hadriel, and those guys are getting off easy. Some of you could wake up without entire limbs, without abilities that keep you who you are.

The sky is the limit with this one, and you're free to have more than one thing taken from you- though Fear will not cause immediate death if that can be avoided. It's better to draw that kind of thing out, make you afraid that you'll never be the way you used to be again, before of course, reverting everything on the 20th.

This event is optional, and you can choose to have your character not be affected, if you like.

MAY PART 3: RELOCATION

Now that Sorrow is back (yay!) it's time we move on from this temporary place we called home. The Null are never far behind us, after all, and Sorrow thinks it'd be a good idea to give all of you a choice on where to go. This will be another IC voting event that Sorrow will post in his greetings to the network about where the city will relocate to next month.

This post will go up on May 6th, before the Door brings all the new folks in- the actual event of moving this city will happen on May 27th, after which we're sure there will be a big adjustment period.

During his post on May 6th, everyone will have three options, based on three of the planets that the gods and their previous hosts had inhabited at one point:

• The first option is an arctic tundra. This snowy wasteland will make you scavenge for any type of warm clothes and fire to keep you warm. Heating has never been an issue before, so it may take some time to establish. Hope you're feeling cuddly!
• The second option is a series of islands. Before you get out your swimsuit though, understand that these beaches resemble the giant's causeway and the weather is rather consistently overcast and rainy by the shore.
• The final option is deep within an alien jungle. While this location will have many dangerous plants and animals, it's also beautiful and has many elegant wooden structures to keep you safe and trees to climb!

Choose carefully! Depending on the results, there will be an OOC post going up detailing the new location switch toward the end of the month, during which we will take questions about the location, much like our previous planetary rundown!

So, previously in Serah's life, she ended up turned into crystal. Could I play with that during the Fear event - maybe having her lose the use of limbs/body parts by them turning into crystal etc?

That's a bit outside the scope of this particular event. She could certainly lose the use of her limbs, which might remind her of turning into crystal, but they wouldn't actually turn to crystal themselves.
