[Player Plot] Nerds Playing Card Games
Hello everyone! There will be an unannounced Duel Monsters game happening in the Colosseum on July 5th!
Everyone is welcome to spectate, or try to attack the monsters appearing out of thin air over the Colosseum!
Why are there giant monsters over the Colosseum 5 days early? AKA - What everyone will see
For those unfamiliar with YuGiOh: Duels are played using duel disks to change the monster/spells/trap cards into holographic projects. The holograms look completely real while the duel is in progress.
Your character may see giant monsters appearing out of thin air over the Colosseum and battling each other during the duel. If you get closer, you'll see that they're being controlled by Atem and Kaiba. There will be no indication that these are not real monsters unless you try to touch them.
The monsters and their attacks are all holograms. If you try to attack them (and please try) you will fall through it. As there are no millennium items in Hadriel to link them to Ancient Egypt (if you don't know, don't ask), they have no spirit, no smell, no anything except a holographic form projected from the duel disks.
Logistics
A log will go up on July 5th, for the duel taking place that afternoon. There will be three top level threads:

- A closed thread for the duel itself. Mostly just Atem and Kaiba yelling at each other, and saying which monsters are around when to react to.
- An Open thread for in-person peanut gallery. People who can get to the Colosseum for whatever reason and want to interact with each other or the monsters. Atem and Kaiba might yell one liners if they can hear you, but will otherwise be focused on each other. The duel will take awhile to complete (these two usually need at least 3-5 episodes against each other) so there's plenty of time to see what's happening and come to investigate.
- A second open thread for people watching the duel over the network. That's right, Kaiba is a drama queen so not only is the duel happening in a Colosseum, but it's being recorded on the network. Thread-hopping in this thread is encouraged.
