I SEE DEAD PEOPLE

Hellooo Hadriel! I'm brand new and I've been out of the RP game for like a year now but this game here caught my attention and pulled me out of hiding. I'm Nick, and I'm bringing in Sal Fisher aka Sally Face from, well, Sally Face.

Sal is a fifteen year old boy with a prosthetic face (and one glass eye) who likes to talk to dead people. Weird things generally happen to him a lot so being here is really going to test his limits. He's very kind, likes to get to know people and encourage them whenever he can, is super pacifist and hates violence in general, but boy does that not stop him from witnessing some gruesome things. Dead things and conspiracies sort of follow him around and his curiosity tends to just plummet him deeper into trouble. Wherever there's a mystery or a possible conspiracy Sally's going to want to investigate!

I'm really excited to be here and feel free to add my plurk (nicknacked), since I pretty much just made it haha. I'm looking forward to playing with everyone!

nah i get that, i was nervous too! but i know my castmates (harlan is from a dnd campaign, and kyna and tucker are from the same game) were out of rp for a while too, and i'm pretty sure there's other folks in game who have the same story? that or people who are new to dwrp entirely. hadriel's been super duper good to me and i hope you'll have a similar experience!

Nice. I think Ravine would technically be considered a "ghost" since she doesn't have a body and can make herself spectral/invisible, so that could be fun to play around with.

Ooh, I'd so be up for that. I think Sal would be happy just to talk to a "ghost" that doesn't screech and disappear into the ground for a change. Unless she does...haha

SHE COULD. I mean she can move through things and walk on walls and ceilings but the screaming part isn't really her style by default, and she's generally chill.

He'd super appreciate the lack of screaming. He knows most dead people can't help it but boy is it kind of unsettling.

As a reaper, Ravine can definitely empathize how the dead can be, so yeah, she gets it.

Omg I'm really surprised to see Sally Face characters here! Well, one of them. Anyway, it's a good kind of surprise. I've never played it, but I've watched John Wolfe's playthrough of the game, and I've enjoyed it quite a bit!

Oh man, John Wolfe's playthrough is what got me to play the game myself and then I was hooked. And now I wait patiently for Episode 4...

Yo if you like that gritty looking style with a subtle-creepy-setting and a bunch of silly kids trying to uncover conspiracies this game might totally be your thing. Also in general it's got a lot of neat mechanics and really interesting characters and I'm going to stop now before I start rambling.

I'm so glad! That's the kind of stuff that drew me in too. The design especially is sooo good...the creator does the art and music himself I believe and that somehow just makes it better to me. And also, there's lots of talking dead people.

I think Episode 4 is going to come out this year so if you do check it out hopefully you don't have to wait an eternity for things to continue like me LOL.

Also, on a related AF note, the ghost designs are fantastic. I just love the look. The whole thing is so creative. When you're a horror fan but heavily leaning towards the supernatural side of it, it's easy to run out of anything new or interesting. A lot just gets rehashed without anything creative about it. Sally Face really brought me a feeling of something unique. It had a lot of things that are expected in the genre, but it feels new and fresh.

I feel this so strongly as a horror fanatic oh my god. Horror in general gets a lot of rehashed stuff thrown around here and there with very little effort but especially of the supernatural genre since it's been done so many times and is like, a classic, so it's easy to come up with some basic thing to rake in attention/money/w.e. The delivery of Sally Face is so good and you can tell the creator put a lot of passion into it. I think that alone goes a looooong way in making something that feels fresh.

He sees dead people, hmm? Well, here's one dead person, George Lass from Dead Like Me. She's a Grim Reaper. I also have two other dead people, Laura Palmer from Twin Peaks and Margaery Tyrell from Game of Thrones. Those two were revived by Hadriel, though, and shouldn't ping as anything out of the ordinary. My other two characters are Tinya Wazzo from DC Comics and Jane Jones from Closer.

I'd been out of RP for at least five years before Hadriel brought me back. As you can tell from the long character list up there, it's been pretty good to me. I hope it's as good to you!

MORE DEAD PEOPLE HI. He's got a ghost detector that kind of picks up on spirit-y vibes so if that applies to him maybe?! And yes he is SUPER KIND he'll kill with kindness that's his only weapon! He knows what it's like to have anything BUT kindness thrown his way so he lives by the whole "do unto others" mentality.
