Event OOC: Your Best Enemy

THE RUNDOWN

Confusion is back, and as your only goddess currently in the city, she needs quite a bit of power to keep all of you pesky humans alive. The best way to get that power? Through an event of course!

Therefore, from December 13th-21st, some of you may feel slightly differently about your friends and allies. That's right, it's a CR swap! As much as you love and respect your best friend? Now you hate them equally as much. Your affection for your romantic partner turns to cruelty, and now your hated rivals are your best friends!

During the CR swap, many characters may find themselves making unusual friendships as well as enemies who happen to know all of your darkest secrets, but don't worry, it's not forever. As a matter of fact, on the 21st, relationships all go back to normal, and you can decide whether you want to hold the other person accountable or not... or maybe realize that you're not so different after all!

THE DETAILS

The event begins on the morning of December 13th, when characters find that their CR has been swapped. How much of their CR and the extent of its effects are up to you, but generally the idea is to explore different relationship dynamics with established CR and maybe meet some new friends while running from your now-terrible roommates.

All kinds of relationships can be reversed, from familial to romantic to platonic- all that matters is how much you want to suffer when it's all over! As far as new CR is concerned, you can decide how you want to roll with that: whether you want to introduce two soon-to-be rivals as besties or just have them forge new bonds independent of the event going on around them, it's up to you! This event is opt-in, and we will not be forcing its effectiveness on anyone.

On December 21st, the event ends and everyone abruptly swaps back to the relationships that they're familiar with- though now you may see some of your acquaintences in a different light.

Ever wanted to be best friends with a demon? Let her give you hugs and compliment your fashion sense and share her hoarded coffee! All that cheerful, bubbly enthusiasm will be directed toward actual friendship and good holiday cheer for this fine, fine event. Come on, it'll be fun!

The very few of you who actually do have positive CR with her, I'm happy to talk about options ranging from her just avoiding them to her outright wanting to murder them - or other alternatives depending on the state of their CR. Let me know!

I don't really have much going for my characters for this event, except that if her network post is any indicator, Rey is going to be traveling while all of this is going down. If anyone would be interested in joining her for some roughing it and camping adventures, I'd be down with that. I'll be putting up an open log that covers the next couple of weeks for it. She'll definitely be back in time for the stampede, though. >:) Edit: Said open log is now here!

The same goes for Ravine, but I'm not entirely sure what to do with her yet.

Hrm. Keith here is new so I'm not entirely sure how I want to approach this event, so I figured I'd just post here and see what comes of it!

He's normally pretty untrusting and a little cold, so Confusion's shenanigans could be a pretty decent way to make some positive CR pretty easily. Alternatively, I'd also be pretty amused if he befriended some complete asshole for some future wtfery, haha.

maine is brand spanking new and doesn't have much cr to speak of, but i'm still throwing him in for shenanigans bc why not /o/

normally, maine is aloof and rather distrustful towards people he doesn't know — so how about some insta-trust and friendliness! \😁/ what better way to crack the ice than for there to be no ice at all, amirite?

or, if your character's heard about maine (or his future-self: the meta) from his castmates, this could be a great time to flip expectations/uncertainties on their head. any stories about a brutal, unrelenting soldier who went nuts and turned into a power-hungry murderous monster couldn't possibly be true, right? what a silly thing to think!

i'd rather keep on the lighter (and less deadly) side of things for this event. if any of this sounds fun or if you've got some ideas of your own, come at me!
