Monthly Rundown: March Edition

After that explosive month we just had, are you ready for things to settle down? No? Well, strap in and buckle up because it's time for the March Rundown!

As always, if you ever have any suggestions or feedback you'd like to offer us mods, remember you can always drop us a line here! Also, please remember to hit up the Current AC post if you have AC for the month! Characters accepted in February do not require AC proofs, but we do require a check-in on the post!

MARCH PART 1: THE AFTERMATH

We know that some of you are still reeling from this event, which ends on March 3rd. On March 7th, Tranquility will make a network post, informing everyone of the current status of the gods, as well as getting ready for another teleportation. Since it's theoretically possible for the Null to trace Delight's fragments from the meeting place to the city, it's time to move again! Like other times, you'll be able to put it to a vote- unlike other times, this vote will have more ramifications than just the weather and the day/night cycle. This time, we'll be deciding on where we want to plan out how we're potentially going to fight the Null.

Some of our character expeditions from the previous month have given some of you access to maps- both maps of the gods' former planets as well as maps of the Null presence in the galaxy. Using the information gathered here, you will be able to make a selection on what you feel is the most strategic planet to flee to and possibly fight from.

And still, the Door opens. On March 10th, it opens again, bringing along a batch of new faces. In addition to the newbies a number of terrifying ghostlike creatures arrive- none other than the Dementors from the Harry Potter franchise.

Dementors are large, wraithlike creatures who have the ability to drain all happiness and joy from life around them. Being in their proximity makes everything grow cold and meaningless, with all of your darkest moments playing for you in the back of your mind. Better not let one get too close, either- a Dementor's Kiss will pull the soul from your body to be consumed, which leaves you in a vegetative state for the rest of your days.... so you know, try not to let that happen.

MARCH PART 2: PREDATOR VS PREY

Thank you for all your efforts and discussions regarding the hosts! Due to the efforts of both Nate's and Newt's group during the expeditions, Hope now knows the full extent of what's going on with the hosts and he wants to help them as much as he can. On March 11th, Hope will make a post asking everyone to capture the hosts as humanely as possible and bring them to him, as he will want to heal them as much as he can and give them a small habitat within the city.

Don't get too complacent, because on March 13th, Rage is going to strike back again by completely rationally blowing up Fear's temple. This is not the kind of destruction that can be rebuilt easily and the explosion will be extremely loud, with shrapnel flying everywhere, so try not to be in the area when that happens. This is what Fear gets for turning his back on Delight last month!

As a side effect of both the power Rage uses to blow up the temple and the power within the temple being released, Hadriel is having a predator vs prey event- or rather, Rage vs Fear. It's up to you to decide which of your characters is affected by which god (or if you are undecided, there will be room to tell us in the OOC post and we will RNG it for you), but essentially, everyone empowered by Rage will have an urge to hunt down and kill everyone affected by Fear- who will in turn try to escape and hide from them.

Everyone affected will have their corresponding god (either Rage or Fear's) blessings to play with, as they try to kill their prey or escape their predators.

This event will be over when the dust settles on March 21st. An OOC post for this event will go up several days prior!

MARCH PART 3: THE TRANSITION

At the end of the month, on March 28th, we will once again move to a new planet of your choosing. It all depends on what happens during Tranquility's post, so be sure to vote in that if you're eligible!

As a final note, we are still open to volunteers for expeditions up through the city teleportation in March! Just be careful and make sure that you're back by the 28th!

so out of question, will there be an option for predator vs prey to have your character on both teams over the course of the event? i.e. they start on one team and swap to another mid-event?

i'm hype and off hiatus so it's time for some plotting!!

maine will be dead during this. whoops! he'll be returning post-minor canon update on the 10th. if anyone wants to catch up with him during that time, lmk!

predator vs prey
since maine being a predator is absolute terror, gonna be hitting him with fear for this! he'll fight to overcome it and will try to help people out, but for the most part this will be a total reversal of his norm: instead of charging into danger, he'll retreat and hide. i'm down for p much anything short of killing him; hmu if you're interested in doing something!

other things
i'd really like to follow-up with existing cr as well as build new connections. if you're interested in cr with a 7-foot-tall space marine who can't speak and is generally bad at emotions (wow, what a catch), please lmk! i plan to toss him at lots of things this month. :)

Hey guys! I'm going to be posting a clinic mingle for this event, as several people that I know of are going to be making their way there after being near-killed and was wondering the following:

1. Who's willing/able to work?

2. Who's willing/able to guard?

I'm assuming this is opted-out individuals or those who can fight the fear to hide long enough to come in! This location would be a veritable buffet of victims for the rage-affected so logically we'd need more than just our usual guard or two. Pell will not be posting asking for help because... that'll just put it on the ragers' radar! "Hey we've got scared and injured here!" Yeah bad idea. Lmk if your character would be up for it even for a little while and I'll work out how they got contacted, or they could just think of it themselves as a likely place that would need protecting. Seemed like a good opportunity to shove together some character that might not otherwise have an opening to meet?

Both Kate and Steak are gonna be unaffected. Kate I'd only volunteer for duty if you're struggling to find people, but Steak will happily stand guard.

I could always say he sees the clinic while trying to restrain people and volunteers bit hopefully he should have a network post up before the event which should be a good jumping point for it too!

Knock Out here can actually double as medical help and, when someone kicks his aft in gear, guard as well. He's not great with organic patients yet but he's got the basics down for making sure they don't die at least, and obviously anyone inorganic would be welcome.

Also being a medic, going to the clinic will be second nature anyway, so he'll probably just show up without any need of prompting.

maine will be stopping by the clinic quite a bit, both to look for shigeru and to see pell. he's getting hit by fear during the event, but he can totes fight it enough to help guard if they need help!

Awesome! My main concern was if it's just a bunch of scared/scared+injured non-combatants. Scared combatants are A++

I don't have concrete plans for Law yet but even if he's fucked up/near death he's going to crawl his way to the clinic and show yall how a surgeon do when he has special powers idk.

He'll be there, his efficacy and stamina will be highly questionable though. And at some point he may need someone else to stitch him up before he dies.

okay i just said this in your plurk aksdhf but reposting here also for organization's sake:

harlan is fear-affected but will be able to resist it, buuut oocly i'm pretty busy this month so i'm trying not to make too many plans? THAT SAID if the clinic needs more manpower i'm happy to chip in, either via handwaving or i'm down to thread stuff too i just might be a bit slow. he has his one (1) healing spell and knows how to stitch, but he's got a lot of magic that's good for crowd control (that he can use without hurting the recipient) that will make him good at guarding too. probably better at guarding than healing, tbh.

basically, feel free to assume he's helping out for the sake of handwaving, but i'd be down to take on some threads too if anyone wants.

Since a lot of my CR is affected, I opted out both of my dudes so they can spend the event attempting to work crowd control!

Nick will definitely set some of the Guard there, as well as have a few out and about attempting to keep people from murdering each other (though he realizes that's a mostly fruitless effort, so anyone who can hide at the Clinic is best left there -- he has to try, man).

As for Carlisle, he actually has a lot going on during the event and won't be around the Clinic, which Pell can totally call him on if you want! What's the point in signing up for the Clinic if you don't show?

George will be Fear affected, but will be doing her best to resist it. Though, she maaaaay be doing something with Sharon and Jo in the Silent Hill zone. This is all in the preliminary planning stages.

Mariane will also be Fear affected and struggling through it. She'll protect the Clinic as long as they need her.
