player plotting: let's get this town organizized!!

ok, i kind of dropped the ball on following through after chie's post about setting up a town watch/welcome committee for newbies. it looks like there's enough ic interest so maybe some ooc organization is in order?

chie has some previous experience with both of those things in her previous game but i am not at all married to the idea of having her run either of them. basically, i'd love to hear everyone's thoughts about potentially getting this off the ground in time for the march app round.

Count Z in for the watch. Would we want to set a fixed schedule? If we did, I would prefer if it's something we could refer to so we could say ICly "oh I have watch duty on X day" unless that would be too complicated~

i think a fixed schedule is a great idea! what i'm remembering from deme was that there were teams of two and they were assigned eight-hour shifts several times a week, depending on how many people were involved with the watch at the time.

there were also ic monthly "town hall" type meetings for the watch to report on what was going on, schedule shift changes, discuss issues among the villagers, etc. these were handwaved through ooc discussion posts every month and if there's interest in having that be a thing i can certainly take on that organization. here is an example, if you can stand to read through lj's gross interface. 8c

Maketh wants to be involved! She's interested in establishing something of a city guard, a patrol schedule, and possibly self defense lessons for the characters who need it. She'll be hesitant about being in a public leadership position because GUILT COMPLEX AHOY. But there you have it.

I also like the idea of having monthly discussion posts to sum everything up, and with threads added as needed. Makes everything manageable.
