Monthly Rundown: November Edition

We just want to thank all of you for participating in our 4th Wall! It's been fantastic so far, with such a great response! Thank you for making our first anniversary so great, and we especially want to thank people for their responses to our mod feedback post, too. Now let's start the second year of Hadriel, where everything will be great and nothing bad will ever happen to anyone! This month will be a bit lighter in terms of events, in order to give everyone a chance to play around on the Fourth Wall, deal with potential CR fallout from it, and catch up with their tags in preparation for the god resurrection in December.

As always, if you ever have any suggestions or feedback you'd like to offer us mods, remember you can always drop us a line here! Also, please remember to hit up the Current AC post if you haven't done so yet! Characters accepted in October do not require AC proofs, but we do require a check-in on the post!

NOVEMBER PART 1: FOURTHWALLING

The first week of November is also the second week of our Fourth Wall event! The second log will be going up November 1st, and will provide a slightly different environment, with the welcoming party hosted by Sorrow, Hope, and Rage. If you got to the first log a little too late, if you want more threads, or if you want to try a different character, there's your chance!

Not so long after the event ends, new arrivals will appear as usual in the intro log on November 10th. Of course, some of these people might've come in during the Fourth Wall - but hey, who's counting? Newbies and 'hey I thought I was going home what is this' alike are welcome to make their debut in the intro log! Accompanying them will be varren from the Mass Effect video game series!

Varren are vicious survivors from a harsh alien world. They are pack hunters, moving together to take down prey with their sharp teeth and claws. Though not intelligent, they are very adaptable and tough, as well as fast and dangerous - and totally happy to attack whatever might seem like a threat. Or whatever might seem tasty, which - just for the record - is you.

NOVEMBER PART 2: FADEOUT

By the second half of the month, Delight and Hope have given up on their possibly ill-considered attempt to mess with the Door and send everybody home. The visitors have gone home (except, of course, anyone who apped in), nobody's possessions are falling from the sky, there aren't any dragons - everything's good! Right? Right. Except for maybe just a couple things...

When the Door was getting messed with, it pulled a few Fade rifts into Hadriel. Oh, but hey, no big deal! Luckily the only person with the ability to close them, the Inquistor, is already in the city. Cecily, being the helpful and heroic type she is, naturally tries to close the first one she senses. Nothing goes wrong and everything is super chill for the rest of the month!

Haha sure. Actually, her attempt to close the rift will end up opening all the other rifts that were brought into Hadriel. What happens when you open a rift? Glad you asked! Demons. Demons happen. And so, from November 15th-November 25th, there'll be a lot of Theodosian bad stuff happening in Hadriel. Smaller and less intelligent demons to fight, larger ones trying to tempt people (especially anyone with magic) into making a deal with them and becoming an abomination, wraiths and terror demons and desire demons aplenty. There may also be some less terrifying and dangerous things popping out of those rifts, because the Fade is weird as hell! Finally, Cecily will manage to close all the rifts, but not before people have had a few super shitty days. And even after she's done, all those demons need to be taken care of.

Would one be able to take a Varren as a pet/companion, and if so, how? (Priorities.)

Unfortunately not. You would need to train/tame them from a very young age, and all the ones arriving in Hadriel are full grown! Feel free to try, though, but don't get too upset if your fingers get bitten off.
