Event Post: Tears of Joy
THE RUNDOWN
It's finally time for what (some of) you have been working hard and waiting for. Yes, that's right - with all this power you've gotten for him, Hope can finally resurrect Sorrow, who was killed back when the Null attacked the city. He's been preparing for it all month, and on April 21st it's time.
But it's been awhile since a god has been resurrected in Hadriel. Those who have been around awhile probably remember how it goes, which is, of course, not at all quietly. Sorrow's resurrection will blanket the city in his signature emotion, making everyone feel their sadness and regret with incredible strength. Is there something that's been haunting you? A mistake you made, a person you hurt? You won't be able to stop thinking about it.
And what's more, you'll want to make up for what you've done. Until April 30th, beyond mere sorrow, you'll be overcome by the need for redemption and the desire to do whatever it takes to make up for the wrongs you've committed.
THE DETAILS
Sorrow's resurrection will have the effect of causing every character to feel intense sorrow over their past wrongs and mistakes. This can encompass things that happened in the past, things that happened at home, and things that happened in Hadriel - it could even include things that have not happened yet. Is your character laboring under a prophecy that will bring pain and sadness to those they love? Have they gotten a glimpse of their future, though magic or technology or a chance meeting in Hadriel, and now they know it'll be bad? Any or all of these things could come into play.
More than anything, though, whatever it is that causes them to be filled with regret will also cause them to seek redemption. That could come in plenty of different forms, from the trivial to the serious. Maybe you'll do all the household chores for a couple weeks in an attempt to make up for the time your dog chewed up their favorite book. Maybe you'll get down on your knees and beg forgiveness for cheating on your boyfriend. Or maybe what you did is so terrible there's only one way you can think of to make up for it - but be careful. After spending so much power in one blast, Hope's resurrections might be a little wobbly for awhile.
This event is not mandatory, so if you want to opt out and just be really freaked out by all the sad people, go for it!
THE OVERVIEW
► April 21st: Sorrow is resurrected! Get ready to feel sad
► April 30th: Ok that's probably enough sadness
QUESTIONS
no subject
Normally she wouldn't say anything because what are birthdays (although this is sadly an improvement from what happened to her last year), but with the Sorrow event making people a little mopier than usual, she might be mulling over her life choices as a new centenarian. Yay.
I will probably just opt Ravine out, but I'm always open for throwing her at people.
In the spirit of the whole "need for redemption" aspect of the event I am, however, contemplating on maybe doing something with Ravine's long dead friend named Elizabeth and her history of the sacraments, which tl;dr was a time where she fed the souls of a cursed bloodline to a primordial entity that required their aforementioned curses to power their spooky spookness. But idk if anyone wants to tackle that, I'm game, since I'm keeping things generally light for Rey.

All my boops / Rosen, Whistler, Semiyon, Delmar
Whistler will likely go into hiding because he's
an idiothaving a crisis. If you'd like to have your character (who cannot be Julie because reasons :P ) help him hide, let me know!Delmar is available. He has a lot of regrets, but mostly of the 'i've disappointed people / i wish the person I am didn't make so many people so unhappy" type way. As well as the 'missed opportunities because of how afraid i was" way. If you would like delmar for anything let me know.
Semiyon ...uh....regrets very little in life :| Except not finding love. Cuz he's a lonely old man. But he has no regrets about being a money laundering, people kidnapping mobster. That's just par for the course.

Mostly just.. killing and eating people? There's inner conflict going on about being a vampire and so. He's killed a lot and some of them he really regrets. Also there's some stuff for turning other people loves into vampires and thus taking their future away and then in the end failing to protect them. This event ties into nicely to his loneliness in Hadriel so he could/will look for comfort of sorts and probably out himself as a vampire!
So yes, come get your vampire angst!!
