Event Post: Senses Fail

THE RUNDOWN

Sorrow already let you guys know that it's just about time to move the city again, so we're sure you also know what that means. Who moves the city? Fear. What does he need in order to get that done? Yep, you got it. Fear. So it's time for you to feel just a bit - or maybe a lot - terrified. And Fear doesn't do things by halves.

He's changing the game a little this time, and taking something from you. Rather than an object, this is a part of you: a sense, and ability, a limb. Something you use every day, something that seems vital to you, and now it's gone. Will it come back? Probably, but... well, you can't be sure, and even if it does, you've still got to figure out how to live without it for awhile. Or maybe forever.

Vulnerability can be the most terrifying thing of all.

THE DETAILS

What will your character lose? Well, that's pretty much up to you, as long as it falls under the general idea of a sense, power, or ability. They could lose a sense, or part of one - going half-blind, being unable to taste. They could lose a power - their magic, their ability to stay in human form. Or they could lose an entire limb - an arm or a leg, or maybe just a finger. They could even have more than one thing taken from them, if you really want to be mean. One eye gone at the beginning of the event, and just as you're getting used to it, the other disappears? Yikes.

Fear won't take anything that will cause them to die instantly, however. No vital organs, no ability to breathe. He also won't take physical objects or memories. He's interested in causing fear, and dead people can't feel fear. Though, of course, he won't much care if you happen to, say, stumble into the river and drown because you suddenly can't see. That's really your fault, after all.

All missing things will be restored at the end of the event, and please remember that this event is optional - your character doesn't have to be affected if you don't want them to be. Have fun!

Dr. Razi will be losing her intelligence. You know, the one thing that got her through being a disabled refugee with a negative Nature to become the... successful individual she is today.

Well, okay, she's a licensed professional, so I'd call that success. Even if she's living on dirty money, she's a surgeon, dammit.

What this means is that she will try, very hard, to help people who come in to the clinic hurt due to whatever shenanigans are going on during this event, and will probably completely fuck up repairing them. Like, comically so. Get burnt by Lich Lup? Uhhhh pour water on it I guess. Accidentally injure yourself and need stitches? Maybe what you really need is to just put some hella hydrogen peroxide in there.

Basically, I'm looking for people willing to submit themselves to medical malpractice. In general, though, her interactions with people will have her come off as... really not all there. It'll be frustrating and terrifying to her because of her intense need to be the smartest in any and all rooms so... whoops.

So for this event, Rosie is going to be losing her voice. It's something that she values a lot both physically and metaphorically so it'll be a very scary thing for her.

That's really all I got planned and I'm going to poke around and see what other people are up to but I just wanted to drop a line here so people could plot with me about it!

He's going to be pretty on edge, and he's probably going to be pushing people away at first because he's terrified, since, you know, eyes. SO THERE'S THAT. But he'll eventually cave and accept help from time to time.

Sonya will either loose mobility in her legs, leaving her unable to walk, run, or even put weight on her lower body (effectively leaving her paralyzed from the waist down); this will certainly cause panic/anger because just being that helpless scars the crap out of her.

Or...I'm thinking I just might opt out of the plot all together and have her trying to keep the peace-or at the very least keep people from accidentally killing eachother.

Yes, I'm thinking he walks away from the current thread and yes I'm totally down for this angst. It would honestly be amazing and terrible all at once, but I'm so down for this!! What haunts him the most is that kid he accidentally killed, for sure, so it's like a constant fear of his to think of ever accidentally hurting someone else/an innocent person being caught in the crossfire. Let me know what you think with how she could play on all of that. Caedra, you're so good at being awful. XD
