Event Post: Home Sweet Home

THE RUNDOWN
Everyone misses home, right? Or at least most of you do. Probably. If nothing else, the gods feel like they're constantly being asked to send people home, no matter how often they say they can't. But is that really true? Well, actually, yes, but that doesn't mean some of them can't bend the rules a little. Or maybe it would be more true to say - bend reality a little.

Confusion in particular has very few qualms about messing with people's minds, and she might be kind of tired of all the complaining. Starting on June 20th, the residents of Hadriel will begin to experience waking dreams of their homes. While walking, while working, hopefully not while swimming, they'll become transfixed, staring creepily into the distance as they experience a normal day in their previous lives. They won't remember Hadriel at all, instead believing that they never left home.

But of course that isn't all. It's kind of weird to see someone standing around staring, right? Wouldn't you want to wake them up, get their attention... shake them a little? The moment anyone does that, they'll be transported into the same dream that the person they touched is having. They'll visit their home, and while they might remember Hadriel, they also might fit right into that world, with a whole imagined history and place in it. That's up to you!

This will last until July 2nd, when the dreams will cease. Maybe you should just enjoy it. Who knows when you'll see home again?

THE DETAILS
The general focus of these dreams is a day in the life. Rather than seeing specific events or memories, dreamers and visitors will be living out a more-or-less average day - though, of course, average can mean a lot of different things, and what's average to one person might be totally bonkers to someone else. And of course, these worlds are based on the memories and the thoughts of the person they belong to, not reality - which means people who are dead back home can be alive and kicking, and don't even know they're dead.

Feel free to choose more than one home, location, or memory for these dreams. Maybe they used to be a Wendy's employee but later became a galactic traveler - they could dream about both lives, flipping burgers and blasting aliens, at different times. Maybe they've settled down in a number of different places - they could dream about all of them, each time feeling like they're safe at home again.

Confusion's goal is to make people think that they're home, just like they've always wanted, so things that have a chance of breaking that illusion would be much less likely to be part of these dreams. Memories of home from too long ago (when the character was a child), huge life-changing events that would never happen twice, memories of Hadriel - while it's possible some of these might come up, it's unlikely, because each of them would be much more likely to shatter Confusion's imposed suspension of disbelief. After all, most people will remember that they're not a child anymore, that they saw their mentor die in front of them horribly once already, that Hadriel is not their home.

That said, the visitors are not held to these same standards. They can remember Hadriel, or they can fall under Confusion's influence and believe that they belong in that world too... in which case, so will the dreamer. Enjoy your glimpses of home.

THE OVERVIEW

► June 20th: The trances begin
► July 2nd: They're all over

So the dreamer won't remember Hadriel, but will they remember the person who's in their dream? And maybe just assume they're supposed to be there and still have generally the same sort of relationship?

[personal profile] nowherewolf 2018-06-17 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey for once I'm going to be doing OPEN PROMPTS for both!!! A Christmas Miracle. (There are still gonna be CWs tho.)

Okay so Tucker is the client relations guy for an adventuring guild in Fantasy New York City. So one of his dreams is going to be him at work but like, not working. He'll actually be setting up a fun Office Prank, and will probably assume anyone coming in is there for a meeting or something.

Alternately, you can encounter him in an earlier life stage, prior to being involved in all those D&D shenanigans. At that time he was a smuggler courier who delivered sometimes-dangerous magical items.

Michael is going to be doing his morgue thing so uhhhhh CW for that. Come help him dissect dead people and meet his cool boss. Or Idk, find him at lunchtime ordering Thai takeout for the 57th time that week.

He'll also come in college flavor, so you can find him being an even huger nerd than usual. This was several years ago and he was also dating a girl at the time, so that could be awkward for those who know his current boyfriend situation.

Anyway, that's what I've got on offer. Again these will be OTA so you don't need to plot with me beforehand, I'm just putting this here for convenience.

Caedra Nisariel

[personal profile] abyssalarcana 2018-06-17 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I will have a selection of three open prompts! All of these take place in parts of Caedra's home in the Abyss, which means that all of these environments are hostile to unprepared mortal travelers (and still also relatively hostile to the natives) and come with a bucketload of potential CWs so although these are open prompts, I still recommend you chat with me here or on plurk @ [plurk.com profile] tinylongwing regarding your visit. The easiest way to AU your way into the dream would to make your character into a demon, though in the City of Rust this will not be necessary if you don't want to do that! You are absolutely free to decide for yourself what the demon version of your character would be like, but I've included suggestions for specific locations below if that helps inspire ideas about the sort of form your character might take to best fit in.

The City of Rust: This is the bustling port city at the boundary of Amamot's domain. All sorts of people can be found here, and all sorts of activities. Caedra often comes here to do some shopping, or just for general entertainment purposes. It's crowded and noisy, and anything you might imagine can be bought or sold. The climate is generally hospitable, and while you might have eyes watching you from every angle, looking for an easy opportunity to steal your goods or eat you whole, generally most anyone and everyone is allowed to wander freely within the city.

The Garden of Thorns: A vast untamed area of thorn thickets, upstream on the same river the city is alongside, although technically a separate layer of the Abyss. This is Caedra's primary residence, and the place she is usually most often found, as she is supposed to keep an eye on things as a sort of deputy ruler of the area. She has a nice cottage and greenhouse within a walled garden, and is often there writing, or at her scrying pool, from which she keeps an eye on everything and everyone. Intruders are not welcome here, so anyone visiting her here will be presumed to belong, and you're best off adapting your character as some sort of demon because the temperature hovers around -200 °C (-320 °F), the air is not well-oxygenated, and the most common liquid is nitrogen, rather than water. Common demons present here are jariliths (predatory big cats with spikes, venomous fangs, whatever you like), chasmes (giant intelligent botflies with piercing snouts that patrol the skies and lay eggs in living intruders), quasits (little goblin-like creatures that can turn invisible and prowl the thorns trying not to get eaten by everything else), although certainly other types of demons are present and around.

Ironhold: Technically the name of a very vast area, the actual prompt will be set at the palace: a grand gothic-style building of black iron with heavy ornamentation in a desert baked by intense ultraviolet radiation. The environment indoors is hospitable enough but intruders are not welcome here as this is the central place of Amamot's rule. Caedra is usually here attending meetings, enjoying lavish parties, helping to teach and train her grandson, or sharing some private time with the demon lord himself. It's a nice place to go for a walk, enjoy the courtyards and sculpture garden, or take a trip to the library (where arcane research is conducted and histories and occult knowledge is collected) or the forge (where proud, capable smiths work long hours to make powerful weapons and armor of the realm's metals). Anyone here for more than a few minutes will quickly start to experience strong pulses of aggression, ambition, and delusions of grandeur, though these can be resisted by those of strong will. Typical residents include armanites (demonic centaurs with armored hide), klurichurs (20-foot tall winged bestial creatures with mouths on their stomachs who serve as guards and military leaders), succubi and incubi who often are employed as spies and assassins, goristros (demonic minotaurs), and nalfeshnees (winged bipedal boars with an affinity for magic and knowledge) - but others are certainly present and anyone Amamot has personally selected to be here will be.

Hope that helps! I'm super excited for people to realize the sort of nightmarish world Caedra belongs to!

Hayden

[personal profile] demonsional 2018-06-17 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Slams in I'm so ready for this event. So, Hayden, a demon, lives his life not necessarily in Hell as much as a subset of the underworld called Nothing, overseen by Satan, where souls of no designated faith spend their afterlife. It's a gray and grim metropolis, and each soul bears the weight of their sin in chains. Currency is keys, as keyholders can unlock their chains piece by piece.

He works as a messenger boy for Satan, so in an average day he'll mostly be running around Satan's looming Tower, where he runs his business like a CEO. Expect coffee fetching and spilling and paper running and very few breaks in between. As he's generally bad at his job, however, he'll definitely find time to wander around aimlessly and spirit himself down to Hell from time to time just to try and get a glimpse of his sister. Sad. :(

Anyway this'll be super open to all! I'll be trying to tag out, too!

Yes hi! I've been wanting CR with Hayden since forever, particularly with Ravine since I think she would get along with him the most. She's a reaper who deals with guiding souls to the afterlife (but never actually knowing what waits for people after that because she's never gone beyond the "between"), so I think it would be interesting for her to see a version of someone's underworld.

kate & serah

[personal profile] dedikated 2018-06-17 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Kate;
Will have two memories to choose from.
• The first will be basic enough: her daily life at work in her clinic. This will show off what she actually does as a power consultant / analyst etc and involve coworkers and friends as desired.
• The second will be more serious and be a flash to her ritual visits to her family's graves back in the UK. Pretty quiet, pretty sombre.

Serah;
Serah will only have one memory because her life sucks ass, man, and even this memory isn't particularly great.
She'll be in the Sunleth Waterscape, which is where she was before she came to Hadriel. Lots of monsters to fight and places to explore, but also the fact that she's having visions of the future and her fiance being a hot blooded moron to contest the fun parts.
circumitus: Seriously. Its 80 proof rum that was 8 bucks for a liter. I'm afraid. (you don't want any of i have)

[personal profile] circumitus 2018-06-17 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Even though I did this for the previous dreamshare event, I think it would be fun to revisit Concordia and the sky prison for Rey! If anyone wants to encounter the synthetics that exist in Rey's world and maybe get a better idea on why she's so "hrrngngnngnnn" about robots, it's always a good opportunity.

Alternatively I'd love to do some stuff with future Chicago, since that was the place where Rey felt more "at home" due to having spent time with and learned more about her biological brother, Orion Gideon (I'd love to be able to write more for him). I'm waffling over either some pleasant, peaceful times in the city, or sometime during the Webcap Outbreak which is a terrible and disgusting virus that is not fun for anyone involved.

Ravine's world is currently a total post-apocalyptic mess, ravaged by plagues and other supernatural entities that ran amok while humanity was in stasis for over a few centuries. So I'm thinking, unless anyone is interested in wandering in some ghostly town inhabited by only a few people, some people might get to experience one of the Zones without suffering the effects of physically being there? Namely Point Blank and the Dead Zone, which are described a little further down on on this page. But the tl;dr versions are:

Point Blank is a mirror of the living world. Think of it as something like the Further from the Insidious movies, where spirits tend to enter immediately after they die. If they are trapped in Point Blank for too long, then they risk becoming corrupted and warped, possibly turning into more violent spirits depending on their emotional states when they died.

The Dead Zone is a seemingly endless void of black, with no gravity or path to walk on. Enough time spent here can become maddening, as it's not a place for dead souls to linger, let alone the living. This place is usually governed by Reapers, which use it to traverse from place to place without having to physically travel. In Hadriel, the Dead Zone is simply a yawning abyss, devoid of life. In Ravine's world (and in this event), one might find themselves being grabbed at and hearing incoherent wailing and cries for help. Without the aid of a Reaper, they risk being pulled down by the dead. You won't actually be at risk, but characters won't know that and the experience would still be an incredibly unpleasant one.

I am also totally open for both Rey and Ravine to trek through other people's waking dreams as well. Just hit me up here, plurk ([plurk.com profile] citygrit), or discord (revalev#6927) if you have any questions or ideas!

I am open to all sorts of plotting. Hit me up on plurk (@phasers) or here if you wanna plan stuff! Here are some ideas/options I had for Cash:

Panem

District 1
D1 is known for making luxury goods (wine, furs, jewelry, etc etc), and is comparatively well off compared to other districts (especially Katniss's home of D12). D1 is warm and dry but beautiful - an oasis in the desert. Beyond the areas people live is isolated desert for many miles. Some areas of interest: the Games training academy which officially "doesn't exist" and the town square where you can find festivals as well as the annual Games celebration that welcomes the winner on their tour. You might also wander through the grape fields, or any of the workshops producing luxury goods. Whether you want to help train at the academy or just take in the sights, D1 is a busy place with a lot going on.

The Capitol
Join the mentors for the Hunger Games! Free food and booze, and watching children get killed on television while also trying to win them sponsorships. If you wander too far out of the mentor areas, you're likely to be recognized and approached by Capitol citizens for photos or an autograph, etc.

"The Hotel" (CRAU)
Cashmere arrived in Hadriel with CRAU, so you could also experience the abandoned hotel. There don't appear to be any employees, but there's a decent breakfast buffet spread, and if your room is messy and you leave it, you'll return to find it nicely tidied. All the exterior doors are locked, but there is access to a small courtyard where it's always raining. You can explore the dusty hotel, play some card games, or try (and fail) to find a way out.

darknstormy: (just one)

I volunteer Seth as tribute to get stuck in any of hers tbh

As big a movie buff as Seth is, Hunger Games would've come out when he was in prison so there's no fourth walling anything for him other than thinking Panem to be something like the Running Man meets Lord of the Flies...

He'll have a complete fit at The Capitol over the games should they broadcast anyone who looks too young like Rue. Maybe they don't and he just gets distracted with booze.

District 1 would be the least likely for Seth to have a melt down and Cash can show him how to handle a knife better than he does (knives are more Richie's thing while Seth is more the brawler).

The Hotel wouldn't be as big a meltdown as 12yr olds dying on tv for fun and games but it'd be a close second. Seth would shoot first and ask questions later, trying to get them out of it.

Don't really have a preference and would have to work on how he'd finally meet Cash since they're on different islands for it to work but I'm so down.

Trafalgar D. Law

[personal profile] hot_mes 2018-06-18 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
All right so, open prompt time, feel free to wander into them but also plot for specific happenings here. Please do I love inflicting his canon onto people and just ask lauren sometimes it sticks ok...

General Day in the Life
Since we don't know yet if Law's party has made it to Wano the most up-to-date memory he'd have is of being on his ship with a bunch of extra guests, so great place for Hadriel interlopers to pop in. On one hand Law could believe a visitor is meant to be there, part of the samurai party he let on board, or on the other hand he rely on the usual hardcore security and know that you're not from his crew, the Straw Hats, or a samurai so you don't belong and we can fighto. Either or, really! But it would be a good idea to let me know here if you want to go the "hey you don't belong on this ship I need to attack you" route so Law can react appropriately to tag-ins.

Law's ship is a submarine but with an actual wood upper deck and two masts for when above the surface. His crew of 20 includes a walking, talking polar bear. Have fun with it!

Punk Hazard
This one could be risky insofar as breaking the suspension of disbelief, since he would eventually remember that this happened not too long ago and a shitload of other things have happened since. But Punk Hazard is where Law can easily mistake any dream-visitor for one of Caesar's henchmen. He's working alone and undercover in this secret government laboratory, performing weird human-animal fusion surgeries and researching things he shouldn't be. Probably won't touch on Caesar's horrific experiments on kidnapped children since Law didn't know it was going on, but it's a fun and funky place to see him in his element, meet stupid Caesar Clown and Monet, etc. Law occasionally had to take out snooping henchmen who got too far into his business, so it's possible to be taken for a liability and carefully silenced; conversely, a visitor could be one of the paralyzed victims who got turned into a centaur! COME BE A CENTAUR OR SATYR IT'S FUN.

New Marineford
In order to keep from breaking the illusion Law will believe that he's still a warlord, and his memory of stopping at the new Marine headquarters about a year ago to accept the position of warlord will get melded with general memories of what he had planned to do had he not gotten his status revoked for all the Doflamingo bullshit. This dream will be an opportunity to watch a government-sanctioned pirate smugly flaunt himself around annoyed Marines and meet some of the big guns who are technically his enemies. Dream visitors can be mistaken for Marine soldiers or could be falsely-assumed to be his crewmates at his back. Antagonism would take the form of arguments and posturing rather than fighting, since Marines aren't allowed to just attack a shichibukai - they've got permission to be maximum asshole and nobody can touch them, not even on HQ soil. On the flip side, if he believes you to be a crewmate, he might speak of his actual secret plans behind being a government dog.

All these prompts have potential for either teamups or PvP action, positive or negative CR, and I would love for all options to be invoked. But, plot with me here to let me know how you want Law to view your character when the tag-ins begin. Ally, enemy, or otherwise, and whether you want to go for arguments/fights or trust and acceptance. That way we're not spending five tags dancing around figuring out where to go with it.

cecily will be showing off the one and only skyhold! it's a beautiful place nestled in the frostback mountains where the inquisition will be busy at work. more details on the location will come later, but feel free to make your character think that they're a member of the inquisition, or have them remember hadriel entirely and try to snap cecily out of it. she won't come around easily, though...

dany, sadly, doesn't really know what home is and has never really felt "at home" anywhere. as such, there will be three(ish) locations that you can experience! every visitor will begin on an enormous ship, one traveling across the narrow sea and toward dragonstone. it's fairly nondescript, though there are three massive dragons flying overhead. if your character travels into any of the doors (or trapdoors, etc.) on the ship, they'll be transported into dany's chambers within the great pyramid of mereen. these are the lavishly-furnished quarters of a queen, and with a priceless view from the balcony outside. here, there are no dragons to be seen. you're welcome to start your character off in either location and can travel between them.

oh! yes. within dany's chambers in the pyramid, you can find something a little out of place: a red door that doesn't open with a small lemon tree growing in a pot next to it. enjoy!

Alphys and Taako

[personal profile] pocketspa 2018-06-18 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
HELL YEAH, i'm gonna warn both of these characters have spoilers in their descriptions/prompts so here's ur warning for undertale and the adventure zone spoilers down in here

So Alphys will be seeing the Underground! For those not canon aware, monsters in Alphys' world live underground in large multi-chasmed cave under a volcanic mountain. Her main areas will be Waterfall, and Hotland, specifically The Lab. I will note that within Alphys' world, humans in the Underground are not natural and met with hostility- however, you're more than welcome to also AU your character into a monster- happy to talk out with the canonblind if you'd like to go this route where they might fit!! Monsters are also super varied, so anyone that looks visibly nonhuman (like, Glacius level) would probably fit in normally. Otherwise they'd likely be met with apprehension, fear, orrrr calling the guards. That SAID, Alphys is a pretty big human fangirl, so... she would go to great lengths to befriend any human who finds her. Additionally, it's been shown canon-wise that most monsters don't... actually know what humans look like. You could probably put on a weird headband with puffy balls on top or some funny glasses and no one would be the wiser (as most monsters have never seen a human before in their lives). Let me know if you want to explore this!! :V

As for Taako, he's gonna have two different prompts! The first is gonna be aboard the Starblaster during the 100 year journey, where he's gonna be... somehow more personable and more of a dick than usual, but if you want to see a fantasy space yacht, now is absolutely the time. Totally open to AUing other crewmembers or having him technically be vising other worlds, as the Starblaster totally moved between a bunch of crazy ass spaces. Open for plotting either way! His second prompt will be closer to his current canonpoint, at the Bureau of Balance, a large floating base pretending to be the moon. Visit Fantasy Costco, check out all the fucking domes this place has for some reason, have fun with our gigantic goddamn jellyfish. It's a pretty sweet fantasy scenario- feel free to AU people as someone who works there or just happens to be visiting, which doesn't usually happen but Taako's sure not going to sell you out.

Again, totally happy to help with AU elements or explaining other worlds, I'm PUMPED YALL

Oscar

[personal profile] onlyanautomaton 2018-06-18 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
There will be two places to which people will be transported if they touch Oscar, both of which are meant to be located near the southern border of Russia (sorta kinda approaching the Steppes):

Journey - Oscar's home is by his very dear friend Kate Walker's side. He'll be journeying with her, the nomadic tribe from the Far North whom they were traveling with before his current stay in Hadriel, and their snow ostriches and Youkis.

Olympia (Олимпия) - It's nighttime, it's snowing, the moon is red, there's a giant bonfire, and is that an Olympic stadium over there? This is the night that Oscar last remembers before being brought to Hadriel. The tribe is anxiously awaiting the beginning of a ceremony while Oscar's over here wondering whether the Youki who's taken a keen interest in him is going to leave him alone soon. Or maybe he's taking a small walk around the camp/area.

I'll also have a prompt up for Hadriel for in case anyone wants to play out stumbling on the silly automaton standing in the rain, with or without making physical contact with him and being taken to his world.

If anyone wants to do something special that may not be covered by these prompts, feel free to hit me up for plotting by commenting here or PMing me on plurk ([plurk.com profile] onthelam), discord (onthelam#1730), or at this account. ♥ This is open to absolutely everyone; close CR, casual CR, or none at all!

Mewtwo will be revisiting two places. First the lab, in which she was created and experimented on. And then the mountains that she escaped to after destroying the lab. Mewtwo will be pretty hostile towards humans (though not enough to hurt them, unless they look like/say they're scientists). Otherwise, feel free to turn your character in a Pokemon or a trainer with a Pokemon team!

Maglor

[personal profile] bythewaves 2018-06-18 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
Tossing up ideas for Mags, but considering we're talking about recent history...

The Sea can be done in two versions - The end of the First Age, where Maglor has just watched Maedhros kill himself, and thrown his own Silmaril into the sea. He'll be down by the shore, the earth behind him will be a nightmare of open fissures and lava and ... well, what happens to a battlefield when you have angels and quite possibly minor gods duking it out. Possibly there is a very large wave coming into shore as the coast starts to crumble into the ocean. Maglor during this period is in a lot of pain, and very, very depressed. The other option is marginally less bleak The end of the Third Age, where Maglor is watching the White Ship carrying the last of his family back across sea. Depressing, but allows for the possibility of wandering back inland to the White Towers, to climb the highest tower and look at the Palantir for a glimpse of Uttermost West, or to chat to the mariners at the Grey Havens.

The Wandering Years were mostly by the sea, but allow the possibility of things like visiting the Shire and playing in taverns in Breeland, if people want to meet Hobbits, and Dwarves and Mysterious Cloaked Rangers of the North

Seth Gecko

[personal profile] darknstormy 2018-06-18 08:41 am (UTC)(link)
'Home' is not something Seth has much experience with to feel homesick. However, life wasn't all bad but I'm mean to my muses so I'm thinking of the following 3 nightmares...

Childhood - Canon actually touched on this with adult Seth returning to his childhood and having to face his abusive father. (If you have 4min to spare, this is a great vid that includes those scenes among the rest of his canon tragedies.) Definitely not a happy home. There could be glimpses of young Richard Gecko too or he might be hiding to avoid their dad's wrath.

Matanzas - 2nd to last episode of season 3, Seth is in a mysterious western ghost town within Matanzas, TX for a shootout with an undead army of outlaws. Greater chances of seeing Richie and other ragtag members of Seth's team in this one.

The Quiet Place (CRAU) - Survival in a small community that's built in what's left of Reims, France. Seth isn't in the suits or clothes that he's used to but something more like a prison jumpsuit. Life revolves around avoiding to attract Sound Eaters that respond to all forms of sound. No talking which could be a godsend when it comes to dealing with Seth. All communication are through smart phone devices that do not create any kind of sound. There are sandpaths to walk on, oil for hinges before opening doors, but he does happen to reside in a soundproof home if your pup wants to scream at him ask him just WTF!

[personal profile] drabsolutelynot 2018-06-18 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Delmar

Delmar will be back in Brooklyn, likely running his errands which will involve a lot of people giving him dirty looks, purposely moving their children away when he walks past, or from time to time sliding rude comments into their interactions with him.

Delmar's house, cozy but lonely, will also likely be an option

Rosen

Rosen will likely have the second office/clinic (not the first where bill almost killed him so they had to move haha). Also tempted to have his house and his minivan....

Whistler

Whistler will have the team headquarters (on top of an abandoned movie theater) and also the van filled with hacking and spy equipment as though he's on just another job breaking into a bank

Semiyon

Semiyon will has his floating casino in Eilat. So come here for elegant dresses, flashy cabaret, alcohol, sun, sea, and gambling. All the good stuff

Nathan Drake

[personal profile] nonscriptum 2018-06-18 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Because I love a good 'bout of nostalgia, Nate will have memory prompts set in three locations!

New Orleans, Louisiana
Arguably the most recent of the memories, it will be comprised of Nate's current 9-5 job working for the Jamison Marine Incorporated, a salvage diving company situated on the Mississippi. Here you can see wonders like the French Quarter in the distance, Nate wearing a dry suit because the water is cold as shit, and genial, friendly conversation between him and his boss as they go through boxes full of treasure copper wire.

Jungle Ruins, Somewhere Way South of the Border
Considerably less sedate is a jungle teeming with plant life and bird calls, encroaching on the ruins of a wide temple complex. In this particular terrain a slightly younger Nate spends a great deal of his time climbing old structures and cliffs, falling into unstable built environments, and puzzle-solving his way out again. On (frequent) occasion the howler monkeys are interrupted by gunfire as a well-armed enemy force tries to kill their competition off, but for reasons unknown to God and man Nate manages to dispatch small armies' worth of mercenaries before continuing his search for...whatever it is he's looking for. You may be asking yourself: is this indeed what a regular day looked like for Nathan Drake from several years prior? Unsurprisingly, yes.

Cartagena, Colombia
The oldest memory is set in a port city of Colombia, the streets stuffed with colorful architecture and vendors, Spanish shouted from shop-keep to shop-keep across sprawling markets, and a typical day in paradise for a fifteen year old street rat. In grubby clothes he strolls as if he belongs there and occasionally stops to greet a woman selling mangoes, lift a grandilla from a stand before prying open the skin with his fingernails, or draw something he finds interesting in his sketchbook.

stealyoursoul: (The back biter)

Leo Flynn

[personal profile] stealyoursoul 2018-06-18 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
So Leo's going to have two memory sets!

The first one is set in his home world of Verity. Verity is what used to be the American Midwest. This is set about twelve years after monsters first starting showing up. There's basically only one major city left since the monsters killed everyone who was left in the suburbs and countryside. It's divided up into two sections, North City and South City. Leo lives in South, which is run by the man who took he and his siblings in, Henry Flynn.

Leo was basically the face of the military operation there, so he's going to be super-focused and probably a touch more intense than people have been warranted to see him. He's got basically two jobs: hunt down the sinners in South City to kill them and going out with groups of soldiers to try and take care of the monsters that roam both sides of the city. The monsters are Corsai, which are living shadows with teeth and claws that rip people apart, and Malchai, which are basically vampires, and drink people's blood. This will have a lot of violence and possible gore attached to that, so keep it in mind.

If one catches him at either the start or end of the day, he's going to be at the Flynn's apartment where Henry, his wife Emily, and Leo's siblings August and Ilsa are at. He's a touch more relaxed here, though he and August butt heads a lot. So that's an option if anyone's wanted to meet his family.

The other option is The Quiet Place. It was where Leo ended up prior to Hadriel. It's the town of Reims, France, and is overrun by monsters who will kill you if you make any sounds. Leo felt pretty constricted here considering he couldn't make any sound unless he was in the soundproofed house he lived in. You can catch him either at the house, wandering around town on the sand paths, or at the food prep area where he worked. Just don't eat anything he prepares. He can't actually taste what he makes, so it usually comes out either over or under seasoned.
northerndragon: (can't climb to heaven on the cross)

Jon Snow

[personal profile] northerndragon 2018-06-19 07:32 am (UTC)(link)
Keeping it brief, Jon Snow's prompts will come in three flavors, all of them involving an utter obsession with ice zombies:

1. King in the North: Hey, who wants to visit Winterfell? Watch Jon argue with his sister, direct repairs and preparations for war, and argue with the Northern lords! Visit the crypts! Be a trusted Stark family retainer, a servant, a local lord, a wildling ally, or...? Hours of combat practice, climate-appropriate clothing, awesome food! This is Jon's current actual life at his pull point.

2. Lord Commander of the Night's Watch: Visit the Wall! It's 700 feet tall and made of solid ice and also magic and maybe also some dead people? Maybe be a brother of the Night's Watch, maybe be a noble visitor! Hours of combat practice, variable clothing, terrible food, a vow of celibacy, tons and tons of paperwork. This is a life Jon has only recently left behind him at his pull point.

3. North of the Wall: Encounter The Army of the Dead, or at least some stragglers! Be one of the Free Folk or a brother of the Night's Watch! Kill a wight with fire! The food is wildly variable but you'll be very warmly dressed. (Jon will still be Lord Commander in this one, but he'll be out in the wilds instead of home at Castle Black. The Night King may or may not appear.)

Will Graham, Eleven & Floki

[personal profile] feelslikeimspilling 2018-06-19 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Will Graham (Hannibal)

CW: Graphic images in links

Work:
A day in the life of Will Graham isn't as simple as it might sound. You'll be joining Will out on work, investigating murders. This will involve some extremely, explicit graphic, violent and disturbing images much like this and this.

Dinner:
Join Will and Hannibal as they gather around the table, enjoying all kinds of fancy fruits and meats... Including Long pork. This part of the event is obviously going to have some cannibalism in it, I'll let you pick if you want to be joining them in eating, the one being eaten, or simply observing.

Nightmares:
Will suffers from nightmares, these usually involve the ghosts of dead people he's seen. They torment him sometimes and guide him to answers other times. He also see's a huge, terrifying Nightmare Stag and a Wendigo in the likeness of Hannibal. Will also dreams about he himself commiting horrendous murders. You'll be able to stand side by side with Will during these nightmares, interact with him or even be one of his victims.

Eleven (Stranger Things)

Hawkins Laboratory:
Eleven will be back in the Labs, undergoing different tests. She'll be very unhappy, distressed and angry, being made to perform tests on animals, on inanimate objects, people and accessing a void where she can eavesdrop on people across the other side of the world. You'll be with her during this, either watching from the other side of the glass windows or trapped in her little clinical room and even trying to escape.

Upside Down:
Eleven will be accessing the Upside Down, a horrible, toxic space between two dimensions. This place looks just like the real world, apart from the environment is creepy, dangerous and covered in ooze, mist and particles floating in the air. There will be a horrible monster there called a Demogorgon. Help Eleven fight it off or let her rescue you from it?

Floki (Vikings)

CW: Graphic violence in description re: blood eagle.

Temple at Uppsala (Blót) - Sacrificial Rituals:
Floki will be dreaming about going to the Temple at Uppsala to celebrate Blót! A huge party over a weekend-long where they celebrate their Gods and make huge sacrifices in their honour, there will be lots of food, drink and sex. This specific ritual has the Vikings sacrificed 9 different males or 9 different animals, including Humans. Join him with the celebrations! Or be one of his sacrifices?

Raids:
Come with Floki on a raid! Join him in his Viking Longboat with his fellow crewmates, going to distant lands, fighting Wessex knights and pillaging their villages! Lots of violent bloody fighting, taking slaves back to the boats and torching everything after you leave.

Blood Eagle & Gods:
One of the things Floki will be dreaming about is being in Asgard, the Land of the Gods. Surrounded by his favourite Gods, showing him how much he loves them, but performing a Blood Eagle on a Christian Monk (let's be real, he's dreaming about doing this to Athelstan.) A Blood Eagle is a horribly graphic, painful way of killing someone. If the Blood Eagle is performed on a Viking, they must not make a sound or wince during the torture, otherwise, they will never make it to Valhalla. If they do so without a sound, Odin might see them fit to enter Valhalla. To a non-Viking, it's just a horrible way of killing them slowly.

The Blood Eagle involves; peeling the flesh of the back open, splitting the ribs with an axe, breaking them open and pulling the lungs out from the body while still attached. The lungs are then hung over the person's shoulders towards their chest.

Ianchus

[personal profile] vocarrah 2018-06-19 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
OH BOY OH BOY! I'm still figuring out how I'll do this, but these will all be before the fall of the Cepheos line. This was when Ianchus was happiest, when all the people he loved weren't DEEAAAAD and he wasn't being crushed by guilt over it.

(Speaking of dead, he'll revive just in time for this event, so this will prob be the first time you see him since the Bacchanalia. He'll be...very disoriented once this is all over, since he's gone from death to his old life to....Hadriel, lol)

Carrah

His home, where you'll be able to see his awesome palace and awesome giant port and maybe see some ships collide in the port because that happens on occasion! You could meet him in the Wharf to see one of his own galas, or meet him in a bar, or even on a ship! (More on that later).

Or, you could meet him in the Palace Complex. If you're there as a noble you might get a cooler reception from him, but play your cards right and he might warm up to you and let you in on some gossip. You could also meet his family--he's got six siblings, ranging from his somewhat aloof and overly-formal eldest brother, to his older sister (who you'll find shares Ianchus' mischievous streak--or rather he shares hers), to his uptight, sickly older brother, to his beloved two younger siblings.

You could also meet his lover, a royal guard, who astute observers will find...may not be too comfortable with the relationship.

The Ocean and Beyond

Or you could find Ianchus sailing as a patron with explorer-mercenary groups; help him sail a ship! He's always hungry to talk to people, and eager to prove himself as more than just a rich boy who can throw out money.

You can travel through unknown forested and mountainous terrain with him and his groups, fight beasts, maybe even get into a spot of trouble (snowed-in in a cave?)

Ianchus will tend to be more open and peppy about his life in Carrah, so no matter where you are, if you ask he'll be more willing to discuss his royal life, though it's not something he'll ever bring up on his own.

claritatis: (274 !)

Ignis, Julie, Nil, Jet, Poison

[personal profile] claritatis 2018-06-19 09:52 pm (UTC)(link)
IGNIS' memories will take place mainly around the city of Insomnia, as well as some selected locations from anywhere up to the end of chapter 8 of the game. Exactly what those locations are, I'm not sure, because I haven't picked them yet but they will all be unfairly gorgeous because that's just how FFXV rolls.

JULIE'S memories will be located entirely inside the stadium enclave that she lived in from the age of 13 or so. She has rarely, if ever been outside of that place, and will be very at home there. It is a sprawling maze of cobbled-together homes, growing steadily more unstable and flimsy the higher they get and secured to each other and the stadium walls with a net of cables.

NIL is another one with some unfairly pretty locations, but his memories will be pulled from anywhere on the HZD map that he might have been in the last couple of years. A lot of them will be in the Sacred Lands, but there will be some interesting things in there. As you might expect of a guy who kills for sport.

JET'S 'safe' memories may not really fall on the spectrum of safe for other people, but they will be located in the searing California desert. Nothing for miles around, except a glint on the horizon that might just be a city. It is very, very hot. In fact, the sun feels like it might literally be cooking you from the inside out... because it kind of is. But there's some shelter, if you dare to go inside.

and finally, POISON has some interesting places she could delve into. It could be Gull, the Black Marshes village where she grew up. It could be the Hierophant's castle, with the constant storms battering at the windows. Or, it could be the Box, in the brief moments she actually did feel safe there.

Jeyne Westerling

[personal profile] widow_of_the_crag 2018-06-19 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
There's really only going to be two prompts for Jeyne Westerling since she hasn't really been to many different places in Westeros. A lot of them will do with family (including her late husband).

1. The Crag: Take a visit to the crumbling keep that's been in the Westerling family for generations. It's on a cliff by the sea and it's falling apart since the family no longer has the money to maintain it. You can witness Jeyne studying plants with her mother, watching her make various potions. You can see her watching her brothers train in the courtyard. Take the place of a servant, retainer or family friend. It's up to you.

2. Robb Stark's Camp: This is during Robb's travels towards Riverrun. The basic events will be the lords going in and out of Robb's tent to strategize, but sadly you won't get to see that as Jeyne wasn't allowed in. You can follow Jeyne in her routine of visiting the wounded and caring for them, talking with her mother in law or watching her brother and Robb train together. You might even catch a more loving moment between Jeyne and Robb, lots of flirting and smiling. You get your choice of being a soldier, a camp follower, a servant or lady in waiting to the King and Queen of the North. It's up to you!

I guess you get to see her roll out of bed in the back of her clinic and show up looking a mess to work by walking out her bedroom door at like noon LMAO get ready for a lot of.... medical nonsense. you might catch her blackmailing someone on the phone for supplies.

Hella Varal

Uhhhh Hella has a very complicated relationship with "home" so she's going to be On The Road, with Hadrian, Adaire, and Throndir, the other members of Forest Party. There may be the occasional village full of undead that they pass thru... some have already been wiped out by Ordenna... nbd... also it's perpetually snowing and there is no sun and two moon cycles to measure days by instead, WHOOPS. I hope you like, brought a flashlight. Those don't exist though so we're just gonna use wooden torches, cool?
hellosirs: (an article by me)

Angus McDonald

[personal profile] hellosirs 2018-06-20 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Angus will have two or three prompts, because I have no self restraint:

One will be during his boy detective days, which means investigating murder crimes, following shady dudes around Neverwinter, possible chase scenes, dealing with the militia, and eventually him retiring to an empty inn room. He'll be on his best professional behaviour for this one, just 100% in detective mode.

One will be his much happier days at the Bureau of Balance, which mostly involve hanging out in the library doing research, getting affectionate hair-ruffles and noogies from damn near everyone, and maybe hanging out with a giant alien jellyfish in the basement of the moonbase.

The last one (which I'm sort of waffling on) will be the world's most stiffly awkward formal dinner, when Angus was much younger and still lived with his biological family. Think fancy food, high-class guests, and one of those absurdly long rich person dinner tables.
