Monthly Rundown: May Edition

As endgame (not the movie) begins to descend in full swing, we find ourselves preparing with a month of fear and last-minute scrambles. What have you been doing to prepare for the eventual battle? What CR do you have that needs to be resolved? Are you ready for our spooky penultimate month?

MAY PART 1: NOT-SO-FRIENDLY FACES

Luckily for you, the All or Nothing event ends on May 2nd, giving you some time to catch your breath before the real fun begins.

Tired of the nonstop god events? Well, maybe you can help out your fellow Hadrielite, because as of May 10th, the Door is opening for the final time, bringing back only characters who have been here before- maybe Sorrow thought that it would be easier to avoid explaining their situation all over again, or maybe he just didn't want to drag a bunch of new faces straight into the coming war, but regardless, they'll be sucked into Hadriel for the second (or third, or fourth) time!

And that's not all- did you think you'd get a break just because there's less people coming through the door? Well, maybe you sort of do, because there is only one monster coming through the door with them... unfortunately, that monster happens to be a gigantic hydra.

A hydra is essentially a dragon- it's a giant lizard, as large as one might expect a dragon to be, but instead of wings, this bad boy has multiple long-necked heads that snake out to attack from multiple angles in an attempt to kill their prey. This makes them great for dealing with several characters at once! Look out, though- they start with nine heads, but if you cut one off, then two more grow in its place!

So what's the weak spot here? Well, its belly and chest is heavily armored as well, strong enough that steel cannot pierce it, so you may have to think outside of the box for this one.

Or just run away.

If anyone wants to be the one to kill the hydra, we will have a place where you can volunteer in the comments and we will RNG the lucky gladiator on the 9th, which gives our newbies time to get in on the action after they're accepted!

Don't get too comfortable after it's dead though, because shortly after the intro log, we're having a combo Fear and Love event!

MAY PART 2: LIVING IN FEAR

The middle of May will see our Fear and Love event, an event dealing with your relationships and how far you'll go to preserve them. We're going to be going into battle sooner rather than later, and that means putting everyone in Hadriel in danger. Fear and Love have both decided to prey on this fact- maybe it's time for you to confess to your crush? Or maybe they already know, but you're too afraid that they're going to get hurt that you'll go to ridiculous lengths to keep them safe... or maybe they don't know, but suddenly, you're too scared to even talk to them, for fear that they might reject you.

All of this and more will be coming to a Hadriel near you from May 12th-17th, so be on the look out for that!

And finally, you voted and we've heard you, from May 19th-26th, we will be rerunning our very first event the Fear Itself event! During this time, your characters will be hallucinating their worst fears, which other people can eventually see. Later on in the event, your worst nightmare can even combine with someone else to make some kind of freakish terror-hybrid. Fun!

Event posts for both of these events will go up prior to the beginning of them, so be on the lookout for that as well!

MAY PART 3: THE BEGINNING OF THE END

We hope you've prepared. We hope you've fought and trained and made plans- we hope you've got a safe house and you've been practicing your emergency drills, because when the Null finally show up, they're prepared for all-out war.

On May 29th, the Null attack. This attack will span well into the month of June, and the outcome of it will be dependent on what your characters have been doing in order to try and end the conflict. A much-larger plotting post will go up closer to the end of the month, so we can see the progress that's been made in various plans and how characters intend to react, as well as to present you with some new information on what this attack will entail.
