Because we are about to make it a whole lot worse.

Bianca has had the wonderful idea of using Sharon's ability to call Silent Hill to attempt for bigger and better things, by roping Kate into creating an object that will channel and enhance Sharon's summoning! This means that Silent Hill is getting turned up to Eleven, with monsters getting even more powerful and bloodthirsty, and giving Sharon control over the Otherworld! Funtimes for everyone. This will be occurring around the 18th or 19th of the month until Hope manages to limit it.

And by limit it, we mean you'll have a permanent pocket of Silent Hill in Hadriel! The mods will be informing you all about that when the Resurrection OOC post goes up.


The world is about to get a little more graphic, with a few more monsters, and everything is beefier than you are. The monsters within are going to start to need more damage done to them to get them down on the ground, and even then, they're bound to get up unless you stomp them really good into the ground.

Leave a puddle, just in case.

Good old Pyramid Head will still be around, but he's not all that into leaving everyone alone now. You've been inside the temples? Well, buddy, he's got a giant knife with your name on it. And he's probably on great terms with the Torturedemon (see comments), so be aware of that. (Someone should totally boss fight them, where my heroes at?)

The whole world will get exponentially darker, with much of the ground turning to patchwork metal or concrete. The metal grid style floors will give anyone who looks down a look into what appears to be hell. There's fire down there, and metal beams, and it seems to just go on, and on. I wouldn't fall in any of the holes, if I were you.

There's more blood, more gore, more strange symbols. If the Otherworld gave you the shivers before, you should probably keep to the temples for the next day or two! They will remain safe, although the areas surrounding them will likely face the wrath of angry monsters.

The Torturedemon

This will also mean the appearance of the affectionately named Torturedemon! Please do not get in the Torturedemon's way, as it is only interested in going after the gods. (Aka, direct interaction is reserved for the gods or interested plotters - within reason, as general torture would be character breaking for me. Seeing it around is completely acceptable though.)

The Torturedemon is the manifestation of all of Kate's least favourite parts of herself - namely the violent tendencies and, well, the torture experience. It exists purely to "help" her accept herself... Well, to help her remember that she's very good at violence and that rage is a really addictive emotion.

In terms of appearance, it is some horrifying patchwork mess, like someone tried to stick a human and a human-sized cockroach together without understanding anything of biology. It is entirely coal black and pretty hard to see most of the time. Apart from the eyes - the eyes are exactly Kate's, but look dead and lifeless. Its head sprouts something that looks oddly like dreadlocks. It has a human arm that stumps at the wrist, rather than a hand, and brings with it the reek of old cigarettes, dried blood and decay. The stump seems to give off smoke constantly.

When it attacks, it goes for the long and drawn out. It will burn you with the stump as someone might press a cigarette into skin to cause pain. It will break fingers with those malleable dreads or the one good human hand it does have. It will take your weapons, if it can, and use them to slowly maim you. If it can't find its target, it will break whatever it can get its hand on - especially in the vicinity of Hope's temple. It speaks with Kate's voice; that calm, eerie, clear tone she uses when she's completely snapped. It has a lot to say about how badly it wants to gut and quarter Hope.

If you happen to get too close, you'll experience an emotional reaction similar to going into Rage's temple. It will be one of ice cold fury, the kind of thing that leaves you clearheaded and feeling free of any moral compulsions.
