Event Post: Dead Men Walking
THE RUNDOWN
THE DETAILS
THE OVERVIEW
After the very disappointing showing of Scary Stories from you guys last month, Fear needs to take matters into his own hands- and by 'his own hands', we mean that he's summoning some corpses to hobble around and eat you guys, just to prove that eating human flesh can totally be normal.
The zombies will start pouring in on September 14th, with a few scattered here and there. Unlike zombie movies, which have the outbreak gain forces as people die, in this event Fear is just going to shrug and throw more zombies into the mix until he feels like you're all adequately terrified. Therefore, the number of zombies will continue to increase until September 17th, when we have a full-on apocalyptic event on our hands. You might want to scavenge some purell.
On September 20th, Fear will decide that he's had enough and the remaining zombies will shuffle back toward the tunnels, where they will try to feed on the other critters running around in there. That's gonna turn out well.
THE DETAILS
These zombies are your typical pop culture monsters- they're slow, not incredibly bright, and their strength lies predominately in numbers and the ease of infection. A bite from them is enough to leave you sickened, and within 24 hours, the virus will take its toll until you join the throng of the undead!
If you're bitten and you don't want to zombify, however, there are a few options presented to you. Removal of the limb shortly after the bite takes place will be enough to save you- unless you got bitten somewhere you can't remove, that is. Additionally, characters with Hope's blessing will be able to delay the infection by several days, though they cannot stop it in its entirety- still, if you get bitten late enough in the event, it will be enough to keep you human until the whole thing is over.
To kill a zombie, one must destroy the brain somehow- blunt force trauma works, a bullet to the head works, basically everything works except for running around and screaming, which might be what you'd prefer to do. No judging!
After the event is over, there may still be a few corpses on the street. It's up to you to clean those up- Fear is a little preoccupied.
THE OVERVIEW
► Sept 14th: Zombies attack!
► Sept 17th: Zombies are now out in full force and can group up in hordes easily.
► Sept 20th: Fear sends the zombies who can still ambulate away. Let the cleanup duty begin!

1. would decapitation kill the zombies? it's not exactly destroying the brain but it is removing it from the body.
2. what would happen to animals that bite zombies? would they turn?
3. what happens to zombies that aren't killed by the end of the event? like characters or animals that get turned but then aren't... murdered...
basically i am asking if i can turn cullen's dog into a zombie and not have to pull and old yeller

Ken Kaneki || cw; cannibalism
This event will remind Kaneki that he hasn't fed much ever since he arrived and will trigger his instincts, giving the other characters the chance to find out he is a ghoul. And that he eats people.
Thanks to his biology and regeneration abilities, Kaneki will not be affected by the zombie virus. Thanks to his incredibly sturdy skin, zombies will not be able to hurt him. But they will try.
The options will be:
- See him attacking zombies with his kagune (an extra limb ghouls have. Kaneki's look like 3 red scaled tentacles that come out of his lower back)
- See him feeding on zombies. Kaneki is very grossed out by this side of hin so expect him to wallow in disgust once he snaps out of it.
- he CAN protect or save anyone who needs help.
- see him hoardings body parts. Kaneki will try to keep some so he can feed later on. Do expect a lot of crying from his part because ahaha Kaneki will hate this part but it's a must.
If you want your character to attack Kaneki for whatever reason, talk to me first please!

sans
Most importantly, he'll be looking out for his brother Papyrus and his housemates Newt, Hermann, and Wade, as well as Chara and Frisk. While Sans is capable of defending himself and those he cares about in a pinch he is...not actually predisposed to do anything of the sort on account of him being a Lazy Little Prick. We all die anyway, what's the point, etc.
Mostly he's just gonna want to hole up with the people he cares about and wait it out. This clearly means any and all of his negative or neutral cr should be stuck with him in the process, y/y

Emily & Faith
Faith will p much treat this like a workout haha. She and Kate are used to pop culture zombies being MUCH faster, so they'll be going around killing shit. She will probably light more than a few on fire. Need some help? Need a heal? Faith's your girl!

kate hates zombies back home. these are like "???"
Ichigo!!
He's going to turn himself in to the clinic and offer to let any doctor types study the virus, and he'll ask Rukia to mercykill him at the end for maximum trauma.
So, hit me up if you want to fight zombies with Ichigo, study Ichigo, become a zombie and fight Ichigo, or if you have any other ideas in mind! Let's make this as awful as possible ♥
Re: Ichigo!!
kanda
However, after a few days (sometime during the weekend, if I can remember while putting my room back together), he's going to call out Fear via network after having challenged him. Look, no one said it was totally smart, but he's definitely not taking this anymore. SORRY, HADRIEL.
If anyone would like to bump into him or yell at him for being stupid, feel free to hit me/him up 8DDDb
Re: kanda
river will probably tell him it's a bit of a foolish endeavor but she'll also be rooting for him, tiny terrorist that she is

Amos Kamiya
Dead things are gross and totally not supposed to be up walking around how rude D8<
So Amos will probably need rescuing at some point, and will spend the majority of this event barricaded in his apartment while quietly freaking out, thank you.
Want to rescue him? Hang out in his apartment and watch him spazz? Attempt to convince him to help you go zombie-slaying? Let's do it!

This is as close to fun as Kate will ever have killing things. She'll probably spend a lot of time on the rooftops picking things off with throwing knives/stopping them so others can pick them off with better weapons etc. Maybe also stopping by the armory and using this as an excuse to learn some more close combat weapons. :|
She will also be helping people get to the clinic/healers as needed. She has (somewhat) more strength than the average 5'3" gal, so do you need a lift? She can (maybe) carry you! More pending all clinic/guard coordination of course.
MATTY-BOY:
Nope nope why are there zombies. He's going to hide out with his girlfriend, who will probably have to save him. Maybe he'll also stumble out on his own too. Will probably need to be saved by others. Will run. A lot.

Carlisle can hurt zombies with magic and is basically invisible to them. Matt can punch zombies and tackle them like a football player. They end up combining their powers to get to safety.

lilith
- Lilith keeping a zombie as a pet a la Shaun of the Dead
- killing zombies in short order cause technically she's already dealt with zombies before, but then setting zombies on actual fire and making life harder for everyone else.
you're welcome, hadriel.

Also, Rhys is totally going to accidentally release Ms. Pac-Man right on the cusp of the event because that's just how his luck rolls.

Deadpool
He's probably going to be going on the most exuberant killing spree ever and it's going to be awesome and not terrifying and people should definitely join him! (Mostly to make sure he doesn't get in over his head like a dumbass because the dude has a complete lack of self-preservation.)
Also if anyone wants a natural zombie repellent, hit him up! Wade will be more than happy to bleed all over you! :D

small child with small sword
1. Badass medieval-style zombie decapitation. Arya has become quite the monster hunter and she ain't about to stop now.
2. Bitten by a zombie. Most of those zombies are a lot bigger than she is, and eventually she'll get in a situation where she's completely overwhelmed and bitten by one (or maybe more than one idk yet.) There'll be a 24 hour period where she's being slowly consumed by the virus before...
3. Arya Stark becomes a creepy child zombie and terrorizes the city until the event finishes and she's revived.

Gren
I would like for him to get bitten, preferably in the leg so that it can get chopped off. He's already missing an arm, might as well take a leg, too, and make him symmetrical! Then if you put him and Rhys together, you have like a full person and a few bits left over.
So, anybody who's looking to have their zombie sink their teeth into somebody, Gren's your murderpotato. And anyone who has a hankering for some emergency amputation, hit him up for that, too. Gren's life: being actual shit since 700 AD.
Ushahin
So he's going to be booking it for the nearest shop, since fear is a wonderful tool to find agility he didn't know he possessed. He's holing up there while putting out a network call for someone or multiple someones to come save him before he gets zombiefied. Anyone want to play hero to his damsel in distress?

Rey.
Unfortunately that also means it's probably gonna be dangerous for others to be around her most of the time. These are some of the setups I have planned for the duration of this event:
1.) Sometimes she'll be camped out on a rooftop, with minor explosives set on the street while sniping from above. I kind of have this dumb idea of her shooting at some people to "help" them avoid the landmine traps she's set up. Which will... probably attract more zombies, in the end. And make things worse. Haha. But yeah, Bianca will probably most likely be spotting for her while she's in sniper position most of the time.
2.) Lots of blood, guts, and gore... Oh my! Essentially when she isn't feeling like endangering the lives of others, she's going to be going all slasher on the ground level. This will ultimately get her covered in blood and she'll realize that she can be invisible among the herd, which will be interesting. Maybe. I'm sure it won't help make anyone question the stability of her mental health!
3.) The fun one. Because Rey's armor is currently out of commission, she'll be having to resort to another method: Whenever she uses her ability to manipulate fire and heat around her, her skin secretes a substance called "samandrine". It's toxic and can induce paralysis and possible death if ingested in large doses, due to the way it affects the respiratory system. It's basically what got her the nickname "the Salamander" when she went on a kill spree in Europe and Russia, because at times she can cover herself completely with the stuff which allows her to better control fire when setting herself ablaze. For visual reference, samandrine is actually featured on the book cover of Ascent!
So basically, people are free to notice the freaky black monster that's on fire running around burning and slaughtering zombies. For someone who's trying to foil Fear's attempts at getting power off them, she's not gonna do so well.
But hey. This plot is HOT HOT HOT.
On the downside, she won't be fighting alongside people so much given that the destructive nature of her tactics grants her an advantage in dispatching large numbers of enemies, but it also risks harming allies. But again, people are free to notice the weird black thing that's also on fire.
She can also help some people out of sticky situations I guess, haha.
But yeah. I'm open for plotting!
Re: Rey.
she really loves violence okay. she loves it even more when she doesn't have to break any nails.

Jill Valentine!
So I'm open to tags with anyone, doing any needed rescuing or teaching others how to kill a zombie. Hit me up for stuff! Will also put up an open network post once shit goes down to tell everyone what she knows, so look for it.
Also up for other plotting for the event.
Gansey
However, the house he lives in will be attacked and overrun by zombies, which will leave one of his closest friends in a lot of pain and injury, and Gansey won't want to go far from him after that. Until that happens, you can find him around the city, trying to avoid the undead horde, or in the clinic helping out!
He has zero fighting skills so he will not be trying to take on the monsters. He will be fleeing for his life, and will definitely encourage you to do the same if he comes across you.
no subject
He also happens to be a super good shot, so he'll take out zombies when necessary until he runs out bullets. Which will be fast, since he only has six, but if anyone needs help he will totally cap a zombie for them. c:
Ruby is also around and available for plotting; zombies don't really bother her, since demon and all, and she's not adverse to showing off some of her powers to help people out. The more favor she can garner, the better.
Elmer C. Albatross
The funny thing is, he just had a conversation not too long ago with Castiel about zombies and vampires. Castiel told him that it's actually stakes to the heart, not head trauma, that will dispatch a zombie. So he's going to test this theory out. He'll figure it out fast that this doesn't work, but it's still not going to go well. Someone should probably help him out.

hanako 'rosalina' nurumi; cw: also cannibalism
Rosie is going to kick ass and take names for a bit in the beginning of the zombie event. She's going to take out a lot of pent up ~feelings~ out on these poor things. If you want a lady knight in shining armor, she'll be happy to help to! Gotta' love that reckless abandon because everyone is way more important and deserves to live more than her. Hah.
When more zombies start flooding in, Rosie will think 'hey no one will mind if I... eat a few...' like a totally rational, sane person would. Totally. Anyway, tl;dr she's going to eat zombie flesh and get really, really sick off of it. Like if you ask if she's okay she'll say fine but then immediately puke on your shoes.
Please someone actually play this out with me. She's going to be careful not to be caught eating zombos (but I'm still open for people finding out so hmu)! She will also turn albeit way slower because of her enhanced healing but someone is gonna need to take care of her dumb, sorry self when she's going through the sickness and puking up her guts because of trying to eat dead people.Near
Near is physically very unimpressive in most respects and is well aware of it, so while he's more inclined to stay inside, if he goes out, he will certainly need help. He's not ashamed about accepting it, either, after he deduces that the effort is genuine. He won't go out of his way to help anyone giving him aid, but if it's for mutual survival he'll participate. While he's weak, fragile, and the worst shot in the world, Near does have a few qualities that can be helpful. He's smart, cool-headed, practical, and has top-notch reaction time. He's also got a bit of magic he's picked up from his last game that could possibly be used creatively in a pinch even though it's non-combative. (He also has a knife that he carries with him whenever he leaves the house these days, but he's no fighter and doesn't have a lot of strength to put into any attacks.)
I don't plan on having him get bitten, but having him get injured some other way in the effort of getting away from the zombies would be great, actually. He can't take a lot of punishment. And he's not used to being injured, so he'll probably wind up a little twitchy and cranky because ow what is pain how do you handle this stupid shit. So . . . if any helpful souls want to deal with that, that would be pretty great.
